About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Andrew J0 contributionsA disappointing non tripGot up at 3am for 4am pick up. Waited at reception till 5am using hotel reception to try to contact the tour people. Eventually the tour people rang the reception guy and told us the vehicle had broken down in the way. Not sure why they couldn’t ring me or reception at the hotel we were being picked up from as they had both numbers. Never mind, this happens but would have been nice to be able to go back to bed. I am now waiting for Trip Advisor to decide if I can have the £340 refunded and hope it’s in time to book another safari with the money while we are in country on this trip off a lifetimeWritten 27 September 2024

- kashmi20200 contributionsUnbelievable experience and an outstanding tour guideWe had a private tour just me and my partner and what a treat it was to have Sakun as our guide. His knowledge, his enthusiasm and his love for animals was a real highlight. We were lucky to see all animals the park has to offer (apart from the elusive leopard) and Sakun made sure we went to the right locations at the right times to give us the best chance to see all the park's inhabitants. The little breakfast packs, the cooler full of drinks were a thoughtful touch and the traditional lunch was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault Sakun and the experience we had. Well worth the early wake-up!Written 15 January 2020

The best of all national parks I've visited ❤
It's the most beautiful place. Of course to complete the whole you need a full day and be get ready to bathe some dusts 😊
But it's totally worth. You will find wide range of animals with very close proximity. Love the sights. Recommended our safari with Udawalawe Trails.

Udawalawe National Park, located in Sri Lanka, is a remarkable destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. Spanning over 30,000 hectares, this national park offers a unique and unforgettable experience, especially with its close proximity to the Elephant Transit Home.
One of the main highlights of Udawalawe National Park is its thriving population of elephants. The park is home to over 600 elephants, making it one of the best places in the world to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The Elephant Transit Home, situated within the park, adds an extra layer of excitement and educational value to the overall experience.
The Elephant Transit Home is a rehabilitation center for orphaned and injured elephants. It aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these elephants until they are ready to be released back into the wild. Visitors to Udawalawe National Park have the opportunity to witness the feeding sessions at the transit home, where the baby elephants are bottle-fed with milk. This heartwarming sight allows visitors to understand the conservation efforts being made to protect these incredible animals.

My husband and I had a great safari and saw over 50 elephants!!! UT was quick to respond and our guide on the day arrived promptly and was very informative. It was an amazing experience to see the elephants up close, but we appreciated that our guide still respected that they are wild animals and ensured they had their space to graze comfortably- some Jeep’s were not doing that- choose who you book with wisely.

We loved this park which respects elephants and feeds abandoned elephants to restore their freedom. 4x4 drivers are very careful and turn off their engines so as not to disturb the animals.

The starting location didn't exist. I didn't receive a response to my request. Ultimately, I couldn't take part in the activity I booked and paid for! I will try to get my money back
