- 727carmellad0 contributionsVisiting Mr Sen🦣We had a wonderful and unique experience visiting lak lake and experiencing a few hours walking, feeding and bathing the elephant Sen. A drive on a tractor to meet him on the mountain where he lives. Ha and the elephant owner and the tractor driver made this experience special, Sen is very loved and well cared for. All up a great dayWritten 11 August 2024
- Coastal397717731100 contributionsGreat Experience: Elephant Tour & Discover Đắk Lắk province. My girlfriend and I spent a week in Buôn Ma Thuột in March. We wanted to do an animal-friendly elephant tour and found the agency on the Internet. After contacting them by email, Mr. Ha planned a great, individual 1-day tour for us according to our wishes. All of the questions we had beforehand were answered in detail. The replies to our emails were always super quick. On the day of the tour, Mr. Ha picked us up early from our hotel by car. On the way to Lak Lake, Mr. Ha gave us a lot of interesting information about elephants, the Đắk Lắk province and its inhabitants, especially about the many ethnic minorities. After a short coffee break, we reached the village of Liên Sơn. From there we drove by tractor past rice fields to the mountain where the elephant lives. We were also lucky that the coffee was in bloom. It smelled of jasmine. After a short walk uphill, the elephant and its owner came towards us. It was a very special moment to come face to face with the elephant. We fed the elephant bananas. Afterwards we splashed around with him in the river. It was so incredible. We always had the feeling that the elephant was doing well. The owner, a young Mnong man, loves his elephant and treats him well. We hope that other elephant owners follow his example and stop letting tourists ride their elephants. The tourists are responsible. Only if they understand this and book such animal-friendly tours can the situation for the elephants and the people improve. Step by step. After this special experience, we visited a traditional pottery of the M'Nong people. For lunch we tried Nem Nuong. Very tasty. This great tour ended with a visit to a cocoa plantation. There we drank a smoothie made from the cocoa pulp. Very sweet and tasty. We really enjoyed the tour and took the great experiences with us. We definitely want to visit Đắk Lắk province again and book another tour. Thank you very much Mr. Ha for this great tour and day.Written 14 April 2024
- maremi08150 contributionsCould not be a better day …We had a wonderful day with Ha around BMT. We learned a lot about coffee and it‘s history in Vietnam. But furthermore after a few weeks at certain places in Vietnam with Ha we found the best english speaking and educated person which was motivated to answer all questions that helped us more to understand this wonderful country and its people. Thank you again !!Written 15 January 2024
- dng_tiffany0 contributionsHidden Gem - photos don’t lieSo much could be said about this amazing tour, highly recommend it for those who seek a bit of adventure and/or want to go off the beaten track. My partner and I had accidentally slept in and did not have breakfast beforehand. Punctual as ever, Duc (tour guide) and Nhat (driver) were more than happy to accomodate to us by asking what we’d like to eat and stopping at a local eatery for us to enjoy (cheap and authentic) food and coffee. Duc used this opportunity to get to know us and our interest and warmly briefed us on the day ahead. I found this tour to be the perfect balance between hands on activities, relishing in the natural landscape and learning about the local people. The itinerary is faultless as it gave us a real and varied experience of Buon Ma Thuot. It was only heightened further by the warm and inviting personality of Duc and Nhat. Knowledgeable and passionate, this tour is perfect if you are growing tired of tourist traps and wish to truly immerse in an authentic Vietnamese experience. If you ever find yourself in Buon Ma Thuot you must give this tour a go, such good value for your money as the memories we made were priceless.Written 18 February 2020

- Feenixwest0 contributionsThe BestWe had one of our best experiences in Vietnam, and we were here for a month, with Duc Le who started and directs CHD Travel Co. Ltd. He offers a Marvelous Coffee Tour in the Buon Ma Thout area which is a major producer of coffee and high quality coffee for export. He is knowledgeable, experienced, fluent in English and able to carry on conversations on a number of depths, kind, aware, calming, flexible and has strong relations in his community with farmers and academics. Our tour included the coffee museum where we got a solid background on the history of coffee, an Ede community cafe where we learned the fine art of brewing and drinking robusta coffee and having a conversation along with drinking the coffee, a high quality producer of coffee on his farm where we walked the land touching and smelling and witnessed the sun drying and the setup for old fashioned and mechanical roasting, and a stroll down coffee street. Why you should hire him: It was a couple days before Tet when businesses close and we found that the farm was closed; because Duc has a good relationship with this producer, he called and was able to get us in even including a tasting of coffee-tea. A second reason to hire him: he is able to mobilize a whole team of guides and drivers which helped us immensely on another day when we were trying to get to the national park to see elephants. He had a car and driver lined up for us in minutes. Amazing!Written 22 January 2020
- gary p0 contributionsGreat coffee tour with CHD TravelAfter researching online we decided to book a coffee tour with CHD Travel which included pick up from Nha Trang, 2 nights in a hotel in Buon Ma Thuot and transfer to Dalat with stops at Lak Lake etc. Booking the tour was very straightforward and we were picked up from our Nha Trang hotel right on time. We were very fortunate to have Ha as our guide for the duration of this trip; his English was excellent and this allowed him to pass on his deep knowledge of the coffee industry together with general chat on more mundane and 'day to day' issues which we both found fascinating. We also found Ha to be very flexible so we could stop longer at places we really enjoyed and he took us to local restaurants that served dishes that we mentioned we really liked. In conclusion if you are heading to the Central Highlands we would have no hesitation in recommending CHD Travel (who are based Buon Ma Thuot) to plan your itinerary. Thanks again to Ha for making our tour so memorable!Written 16 January 2020

- crystalbhemp20180 contributionsAmazing tour!We are very pleased with CHD Travel! We originally booked the Dry Sap Waterfalls and Buon Ma Thuot city tour but then asked to change our tour to the Lak Lake and M’Nong culture tour. CHD Travel allowed us to change our tour with no problem. On the day of our tour (today), our tour guide Anh Duc arrived promptly at 8am. He confirmed our tour a few days prior and provided a number that we could reach him at if we had any questions. Our driver was also great! He drove safely and the travel van/bus was very comfortable. Our tour guide, Anh Duc, was very knowledgeable. We not only learned a lot but we had so much fun as well! We asked Anh Duc many questions and he was so patient and kind with us. Anh Duc was flexible and allowed us to modify a few of our activities due to the age and physical stamina of our group. We appreciate that very much! We were very, very happy with our tour and we recommend CHD Travel, our tour guide and driver to anyone!! We hope to have the opportunity to book another tour with CHD Travel in the future and will definitely refer our friends back home to this company! :) Regards, Crystal H.Written 30 September 2019

- ThuyDoan22020 contributionsGoodEnthusiastic and thoughtful. Enthusiastic guide, deeply knowledgeable about the locality. Really good dining places, even just meals at the tour/restaurant for the tour. The sightseeing place can be flexible in our opinion and are explained in detail about the pros and cons of each location. QT hotel is new, clean, enthusiastic and beautiful, good food, cheap price compared to common ground.Written 21 May 2019
- Mabmalia0 contributionsNice experienceWe did a customized trip to the waterfalls and coffee places around the city. It was a nice trip and we learned a lot about the region with our tour guide - Mr. Le Van Duc. He speaks good English, was fast to reply to our queries and did a fair price. We recommend it!Written 1 February 2019

- Lim Y0 contributionsMr Le Van Đuc is a really nice guy, go with his tour you won't regret it.I met Mr Le the owner of CHD travels while traveling through BMT on a motorcycle. Although I didn't take his tour but we spent the whole afternoon talking about everything under the sun as he spoke perfect English and he is also fluent in French as well. He is a very sincere and authentic man and I believe if you were to join him on a tour you will not regret it as BMT is not really touristy so you will get value for money tours and a authentic experience. Natural factors such as weather, terrain,... and care processes have helped coffee become a specialty of Buon Ma Thuot City. Each pure Buon Ma Thuot coffee bean goes through a careful care, harvesting, and selection process. Combined with proper processing and roasting methods and techniques to create unique specialties of Buon Ma Thuot.
Buon Ma Thuot coffee specialties are created by the people living here. Coffee farmers in Buon Ma Thuot are always dedicated to their profession, constantly learning to develop and bring the best, most quintessential coffee beans.
On the other hand, natural factors such as rich soil, suitable climate, humidity, temperature, and rainfall are very suitable for growing coffee. Groundwater and sufficient water sources combined with basalt red soil provide nutrients to make Buon Ma Thuot specialty coffee beans rich and naturally delicious.

Its not the elephant ride as impressive as you may believe. I had the same thought initially. However when you see the sunsine on the lake, the traditional wooden boats and the fishers you understand how magic is the nature there. Furthermore the visit of the village, the amazing guide and his information travell you to another world, another century. Ethnical minority that still lives in the same place with its animals, fishes with traditional ways, believe in the existence of multi«gods» and has a matriarchal structure as community. It is so rare to find such a real traditional and unique population, and at the same time such a great guide. (He was also kind and fair with money, I gave the half of the amount in usd and he calculated the currency, with the official currency!! First time I saw it in vietnam)
Dont miss it. Even if the elephant part is a bit touristic, the whole experience is once in lifetime. Its like reading pages of national geographic!

Dear Manos,
Thanks for your review about our service. We're glad that you enjoy the tour, even though our schedule a little bit too tight, but anyway we did the tour with great experiences as we should have on a full schedule tour. Hopefully you can come back again next time for another tour. Wish you have a nice day.
Best regards.
