          Exceptional service and kindness
This trip was one of the highlights of our month in French Polynesia! Tanya and her family took us out and there were just 2 of us!! We felt very special and cared for. Very informative. My only suggestion is to charge double!! Tour is way under priced for the level of professionalism and care given guests. We also took their 4x4 island tour and it was also excellent. Thanks so much Tanya, Lulu, and Captain.

Avoid the sunset cruise. Incompetent and unprofessional
Horrible. I tried contacting the operator multiple times before the star gazing cruise, but never received a reply. I had the hotel give them a call which they finally were able to get in contact and confirmed the activity and that we would be picked up at 5:00 Pm. At 4:35 PM, the operator sent me an email stating that the guide never showed so they would cancel the tour. No offer to reschedule. Completely ruined our evening and one of the tours I was looking forward to the most.

          A memorable experience
A wonderful evening watching the sunset over Bora Bora and then stargazing using a star tracking app on the iPad coupled with the use of a laser pointer. The crew were wonderful and made it all that much more fun. Highly recommended…

          Best Adventure in Bora Bora
This was absolutely incredible. We were the only couple on the boat. Manu, the guide, rocks! His friend played the ukulele and sang. There was even a local dessert. Awesome way to learn about the Polynesian people, their migration and their language. The sunset was great but the stars stole the show. If you think you can really see them from your resort, you're wrong!

          Waste of Time and Money
This was the worst experience during our stay in French Polynesia. It states kn the website they take you to a private island to stargaze. Well there is no private island, the tour guide said it was sold. Well then change your description. Instead we poked our heads off the end of a roofed boat. What a waste of money and 4 hours of our time. Plus they gave us cheap not drinkable wine and stale lays chips. Repeat do NOT waste your time or money on this tour

Beautiful Evening - Great Mix of Culture and Relaxation
My wife and I did this during our honeymoon in Bora Bora and absolutely loved it. We got super lucky and had a private tour, which made the sunset cruise all the more romantic. The evening was a little cloudy so it hurt the sunset and star gazing a bit, but we still had beautiful views and could see plenty of stars. We even were able to see Venus and Mars which was super cool. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Polynesian migration and we really enjoyed learning more about the culture. One suggestion - it would be great if there was a little book or info sheet with the information that was shared about Polynesian History just so we could remember better later on. Overall we would highly recommend!

Terrible, spoiled our last night in Bora Bora
The operator cancelled the tour 5 mins before expected departure time, by contacting the hotel concerierge even though we had booked the tour directly through Viator. They cited weather as the reason, however the weather was beautiful and remained that way all night. We called the operator to find out what was going on and call them out on their reason for cancelling which was clearly NOT weather and after an argument with my wife they then called me back and said they would send a boat. At this point I suggested that was no way to run a business and not to send anyone. After discussions with several other people we were told this operator is very unreliable. Still have not seen the refund for the booking

          Simply amazing!
Absolutely amazing! Ask for Manu!! He was very kind and knowledgable about Polynesian culture. He took really good care of us, and even played us some songs on his Ukulele as the sun set over Bora Bora!! Truly epic! The stargazing was out of this world. We are so grateful for this experience!

Should be top on your must do list.
We only had 2 days on Bora Bora and are really glad that we did this fantastic tour. We were picked up on time at our hotel dock (Hotel IC) in a comfortable an clean boat. Enroute the 4 different dive spots we had a hysterical, running, and interactive commentary on the lagoon, Bora Bora history, and points of interest. Each dive spot was unique an spectacular. 1) outside the lagoon with big lemon sharks an black finned sharks plus fish. 2) Inside the lagoon, shallow water, swimming or standing with sting rays and black finned sharks + fish, 3) Inside the lagoon with HUGE manta rays, and 4) On a coral garden with a million kinds of fish and the guides coaxed a moray eel out for us. Then on to a private Island for a superb an fully filling lunch that was steamed in the ground before our arrival. We opened the jungle leaves over the BBQ pit an got to see a traditional BBQ in leaves. There were 4 meat dishes, a raw/marinated tuna, rice, coconut bread, baked banana, fresh fruit, dessert, the works and all you wanted. Both of our guides were extremely attentive to the group and safety. They were very helpful getting people in an out of the boat where extra help was needed. They maximized the experience by seeking out an showing us some of the more interesting sealife. "George of the Lagoon" was superb an could stand up to any comedian around. Mask an snorkle gear is provided, but not fins (I suppose bc they are clumsey on deck and they sink) To me fins are a huge mobility difference in the water. We brought ours own fins an snorkle sets (as did many others) and we were welcomed to use them. The guides provided an excellent anti fog for thee lens. An underwater camera is a great addition if you have one. I didn't but I had a waterproof phone bag that worked great for taking shallow underwater videos. I highly recommend some kind of neck lanyard, as two of the dives are in deep water where if you drop your camera/phone it is gone. If you can swing this, a way to take photos or video underwater is a great addition for the Facebook Instagram I was there moment. Highly recommended. Best of all the tours we did on Bora Bora.

          Just amazing
From the moment we got picked up at our hotel to the moment we got dropped off, we had such an amazing time with Cy and Gio! Cy was very knowledgeable with the stars, the culture and the island. We felt so special and well taken care of. If you are on the fence, I would highly recommend this tour, the service is top notch and the guides are really awesome. I would do it again in a heart beat with the same guides!

          Great Trip, Highly Recommend!
We had a wonderful day, definitely the highlight of our whole trip. The waters were so bright, warm and crystal clear! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bora Bora. George and Nui were wonderful hosts, if we ever go back we will definitively book with them again.

          Trip highlight!!
We had an amazing time on our sunset sail and stargazing tour!!!!! Our guides were fantastic, and very talented musicians too! They played local music and sang as we sailed. Cy was super friendly and knowledgeable, and made everything so fun. Captain Torii was fantastic! We are so grateful to them for the wonderful experience. I couldn't recommended this tour more highly! 11/10

          Talented Tour Guides!
We had a great sunset cruise prior to the stargazing. Manu and and the other guide played Bongos and the Ukulele while the sun was setting. The guide playing the Ukulele had a great voice! They offered wine throughout the cruise and docked at a cute lookout spot. Manu passed out ipads for everyone to view the constellations. The only negative was the bugs which is out of their control. I would highly recommend the tour but ensure to bring your bug spray.

          Unreliable & unresponsive
We booked, paid for and received multiple messages from this company confirming pickup outside the bora bora condominiums at 5 pm. It’s now 5:45, no one has responded to multiple messages, the phone number reaches a message service and we are extremely disappointed. we’ve been looking forward to this excursion all day, do not recommend.

We were at the dock ready for the tour when a representative came and told us that it was cancelled because of the weather. He said they tried and failed to call me. The weather wasn't great but we charted a boat with some others and had a successful snorkeling tour so the weather wan't prohibitive. I think it is likely they cancelled because not enough people signed up for the trip. (There were only 2 of us.)

We told the representative that they should cancel so we could get a full refund. They did not do that so we complained and now I got a response saying they would investigate and get back to us in 7-10 days.

Clearly we were not happy and would not recommend this tour company, Vavau 4x4 Adventures.

This tour was unreal. From the moment we were picked up by Rai, he made us laugh and feel comfortable. He was very safe and always looking out for the safety of everyone on our boat. For the people that weren't comfortable in the water/swimming, he took them out himself and held their hands to make sure they got the full experience. He played us Tahitian Songs that made everyone feel good and smile. We saw sharks, stingrays, manta rays, eels, beautiful fish, clams, and coral reef. We had a traditional Tahitian cooked lunch (in the ground) on a private island and Hinano beers to finish the day. This tour with Vavau is an absolute must when you come to Bora Bora!! Mauruuru!!!

Our Lagoon Cruise and Snorkeling with "Ariruuma" (sorry if spelling is off) and her brother (possibly "Viri") was one of the highlights of a three-week tour of the South Pacific. This sister-brother team knew all the sea creatures and where to find them; shared all kinds of information, with knowledge and humor; and played music for us and sang to us between stops. Their "Bora Bora Song" brought the whole boatful of us to tears, with its beauty, and the guides' obvious love for and devotion to their country and its waters.
Island lunch, and cultural presentations, were also delightful, but really it was our guides and their dedication to their guests that made this one of our Best Days Ever.
Note : our trip was in November 2019 but that date is not allowed by this program.

Enjoyed it a lot. Tour guide is amusing and he tells you how much he enjoys his job as he is wrapping pareos (sarongs) around your wives. The only thing that I recommend is you bring your own water...maybe a partially frozen bottle because none is offered or available till the halfway point at lunch which is about four hours in. Swim with stingrays, black tip sharks and even a lemon or two and a turtle. Learn how to wrap the misses in that pareo and dance a little. Nice little trip....but bring water, sunscreen and bug spray.

This was a wonderful trip, got to swim with sharks, rays, and lots of fish. Good lunch which we ate at tables set in about a foot of water with small fish swimming around our feet. The reason for dropping a star, and maybe I should drop two, is the difficulty of dealing with the operator. They were very bad at communicating, kept changing the pickup time, still showed up late. I would do this trip again but I would look for a different operator, not Vavau. I had the same difficulty with them on the 4wd tour. Also I felt that the young man who was or tour guide was overall good but just a bit too full of himself.

We had a 3 stop snorkel with motu lunch that was fantastic!!! We first went outside the reef and swam with over 30+ black tip reef sharks! I felt very comfortable and I am a little scared of swimming with sharks. Bring your fins as they do not have these. Their boat is very nice be comfortable and picked us up at our hotel. Second stop was inside the lagoon and you could stand up. We saw sting rays and more black tip reef sharks in the shallow area which was great for pics. Last stop was a great coral area and we saw a large green eel abs there is written in the sand love Bora bora with rocks under the water. We then headed to a motu where locals made us home made meal that was out of this world! We made the tail end of our hand made leaf weaves plates. The locals were so so sweat and inviting. They have a few things to purchase if you want there. All of it made such a fantastic day!!

This tour was definitely a highlight from our trip. There was a little confusion with our pickup location, but Patrick came through and helped to resolve the issue quickly. The tour includes snorkeling with black tip sharks, swimming with sting rays, lunch on a remote island location, and fun at a beautiful beach. Our guides were fun, helpful, and provided wonderful live music as we traveled around on the boat. We're definitely glad we booked this excursion.

Had a great day out with Vabau 4x4 tours. Guides were funny and sang songs all the time with their Ukelale. Lunch was filling and nice and fresh.

Would recommend to check with them prior to day of departure about pickup to confirm as there was some confusion with our trip.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (6 & 10) and we booked the full day excursion which was sensational, we swam with reef sharks, sting rays, we also swam above a pack of 40 Eagle rays which was incredible. The lunch at the motu was lovely, run by the same family and they are all so welcoming. The kids learned how to make colourful pareos and break a coconut. It was a magical day and our guides Manu and Rai were so lovely and funny. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a truly unique experience in Bora Bora.

Hands down on of the best tours I've ever been on! My husband and I were only visiting Bora Bora for a day trip and knew we wanted to have a full day tour. Both of our tour guides were phenomenal!!! First off, I was 6 months pregnant at the time and they were extremely accommodating and supportive throughout the entire day. Their knowledge of the island and animals were outstanding. The group we had was a fairly small group, enough to be intimate but also provide some company throughout the day. The three snorkel spots they took us to were some of the best I've ever seen in my life and then the private island where we had lunch was the best meal we had our entire trip. I love how close knit the family is working together and you can tell how much they truly love and value each and every tour. There are so many smaller touches that I really appreciated (fresh towels, drinks on board, live music, drop off and pick up were seamless and just their overall humor and banter) too many to count but truly made this day so special and one we will remember forever! Thank you SO much!
