Excellent from beginning to end!
Sep. 2019
We have nothing but good things to say about this tour and tour company. We were picked up as promised at our hotel. We were dropped off at the ferry dock to another tour representative who got us to the ferry, when docked at Macau we were met and taken right to the tour bus. Mario, our tour guide was wonderful, he was very informative and personable. He made sure everything was going well with everyone every step of the tour. The included lunch was good and we had the buffet all to our small tour group. We went into the largest casino and one owned by Jackie Chan with gold bars in the floor. Other tours had a gambling options, but we chose to see Macau and we are not sorry that we picked this tour. Thanks so much!!

Very poor communication..not happy!!
My husband and I had a short trip to Hong Kong earlier in the year, with a day spent in Macau. As it's my husband's birthday this month, we decided to revisit both Hong Kong and Macau as we enjoyed our previous visit.
We enjoy doing short guided tours of places as it means that we can visit places we wouldn't have known about otherwise, learn about the history and culture of the area and then go back and revisit the areas of the tour we want to spend more time in.
We booked this tour and were really looking forward to attending today (our only full day in Macau). We had booked to be picked up from the Holiday Inn today at 955am as it was clear from the information the tour group provides that they have set pick up points at set times. Our itinery even stated we were to go there. So, that is where we went. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited a full 20 minutes after we were supposed to be picked up in the lobby. Noone came to pick us up. As we couldn't reasonably sit and wait around in a lobby of a hotel we were not booked in to for huge lengths of time, we decided to head back to our hotel to find a note left in our room. The tour guide had gone against advertised instructions and what we had booked and went to the wrong hotel to pick us up.
The line was engaged when we tried to ring them to complain...if they wanted to change our pick up point there could have been better communication on their part. We just want our money back.

Thank you for your message , we are sorry that you have missed the Macau city tour . Your hotel on the booking form was Casa Real hotel , therefore we made a special pick up at Casa Real hotel at 10 am for you on 18 Aug . This information was sent to your email address given on the booking , the first message was sent on 06 Aug and second one was sent on 16 Aug . It would seems the message did not reach you or somehow it was ignored hence the confusion . We empathy your situation but we are afraid we are unable to arrange a refund as macau land operator charges us full for any' no-shows'. We hope this event did not interrupt your time here and we look forward to serving you in the close future .

Worth going but some things not so good
Everything went very smoothly from pick up at our Hong Kong island hotel. Very much enjoyed our drive over to Macau on the longest bridge in the world (55klms)! The coach was very comfortable! Special thanks to Yvonne for her excellent instructions and knowledgeable commentary till she passed us onto the Macau guide Mario. Initially we enjoyed Mario’s humour but as the day went on I found him to be condescending to the group and downright rude to some of the public. I was embarrassed to be seen with him. He didn’t miss an opportunity to disparage the Chinese people which were found in very poor taste, especially as he had lived with n Macau for 30+ years (he is Portuguese). Also I found he wasted a lot of time talking about superfluous things whilst we sat or stood around. We were subjected to the usual mandatory stops to what were obviously shops where he got kickbacks (again way too long) and then because of these delays we were caught in a severe thunderstorm (taking shelter under a narrow awning) just a 5 min walk from our final sightseeing destination (Jackie Chan’s casino) - after waiting for the storm to ease we eventually got to spend 3 mins in the foyer before transferring to the ferry departure point.
All in all I would not recommend this tour.

Visit to Macau
Apr. 2019 • Solo
The tour guide, Mario, was fantastic, funny, very knowledgeable of Macau's history and the places that we visited. The heavy rain ruined the visit to a couple of places but we managed to get a quick view of it even though we got wet, it was fun though. I recommend this Portuguese guy as he made us enjoy the trip until the end.

The best way to see Macau
May 2019 • Family
My family and I spent a day in Macau on this tour with Mario as our guide. He was one of the best tour guides that we have had in a long time. He gave us the history of Macau and its relationship with Portugal, as well as its current relationship with China. We toured a casino, the tower where we say bungee jumping up close, and walked the old city. It was a day well spent. I highly recommend this tour, and hope you get Mario as your guide.

This tour was very well arranged and organized. Could not have asked anything more. The icing on the cake was our tour guide named Cisco. He was very knowledgeable of the city's past and present and passed this information on to us in a very descriptive manner. You will not be disappointed in taking this tour.

...the guide makes the tour worth it!
Nov. 2018 • Friends
One day in Macao - well for sure is worth it.
You can book it in Hong Kong - if don't need visa is even easier - and you get transfered to the ferry - or you can have a bus trip through the newly inaugurated bridge over the see. Either ways is a great trip - both are good choices.
You are picked up after immigrations by your guide and if you are lucky Mario will pick you up - he is great, crazy funny, down to earth and very knowledgeable you can listen to him all day long without getting bored... such a great guy!
What will you see:
- A-Ma temple
- Casino's - you are in Macau so casinos are a must.
- the ruins of St. Paul's
- Old Macau city center- UNESCO heritage site.
- Koi Kei Bakery - for those with the sweet tooth it will be an extraordinary experience.(the pig skin is surprisingly turned into a sweet delicacy...try it).
- Macau Tower - if you want the AJ Hackett experience - go for it.
Beware when using the currency - they accept HKD everywhere but ask for the change in HKD because if you get back to HK with Macau money they don't take it so you need to exchange the currency... so pay attention to that detail.
Overall definitely worth it - I recommend you do this and if you are lucky and you get to have Mario as your guide entertainment is guaranteed served with a great portion of local culture and history!
Don't think twice - go for it - simply excellent!

Our tour guide was Cisco, and he was fantastic. Great explanations of the city and history. Incredible knowledge of the area and history and generally life in Macau. He organised the group really well. Made sure we were safe in crowds and advised us on personal security when needed. Excellent communicator and great personality. Would do this tour again. Well done Cisco.
