About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- C9890APellier0 contributionsSCAMMERS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BOTHER TO PICK YOU UPMe and my partner booked this cruise and selected hotel pick up as our hotel was quite far up in the mountains. They took payment and sent email confirmation so we assumed we was good to go. We heard nothing from the company since the booking a month prior, so the day before I decided to email them to confirm the pick up time etc, they responded asking to reconfirm my hotel address which I did. They responded asking did i mean a different hotel to which i said no and sent the full address again like supplied at the time of booking. They then replied at 4pm the day before saying 'dolphin square pick up' no location details nothing, this was our first time in Greece so i hadn't a clue what this means, i emailed back TWICE stating i do not know where this is and we were unable to get there for 8am in the morning. The emails stopped and i did not hear from them again, there was no number on the emails with a phone number nor did the person i was emailing provide a name, the email address looked like a made up address 'not-3f1ee9ca-ee8c-4bee-9a1f-c10b8edcbedf@expmessaging.tripadvisor.com' Obviously, we were unable to complete the tour. I left it until we got home to contact trip advisor as i did not want any more of our holiday ruined. I was then reimbursed a PARTIAL REFUND! So i had paid them £35 for absolutely nothing but stress!! Shocking company, do not offer hotel pick up if you can not accommodate it and let people know in advance if there is a pick up location with the full address and how to get there! !Written 5 November 2024
- X1282TBnicolem0 contributionsWorth visiting, but plan smart before you go. Crowded. If you are not planning to have dinner there, it is more than enough to spend one hour there. The sunset was lovely, but crowded, so hard to see much. There are literally 2 streets there and a little climb up to the church. Some lovely shops, some cats and that's it. The restaurants looked beautiful too. Worth going, but 4 hours was way too long for us.Written 2 November 2024

Don’t real bad reviews about loud music coz it wasn’t loud just people up dancing and having a great time. It was FUN FUN. Sorry I didn’t get the name of the young lady with the red hair she was singing and dancing and got every one up on there feet. From start to finish well worth every penny. All the very best to you all for next season 🍻🍻👍👍Written 31 October 2024

- jess01380 contributionsBeautiful views with some flaws1st of all if you go here you do get some really terrific views of kos you're so high up. We did go for views mainly anyway but we arrived at about 3.50pm and didn't leave until 8.45pm. This is far too long as there's only really a church you can walk up to which unfortunately we didn't go up to as path was blocked by a swarm of hornets. There are only a few souvenir shops and some restaurants. We did go into the national park which was £5 pp but animals in way to small enclosures and took all of 10-15 minutes to get around but killed a bit of time. We went to a restaurant to eat there with beautiful views however I couldn't physically eat half of it as hornets were everywhere swarming over your food. I have a severe phobia and cried most of the hours I was there. If you have phobia of wasps/hornets etc I wouldn't go as they are everywhere. We ended up sitting on a bench for the last 2 hours because there was nothing to do as we had seen everything We did realise apparently once we were back we could have got a trip which was 6pm-9pm instead so opt for that one if you just want to mainly go for the views and dinner as not much else there at all. Wouldn't visit again but mainly due to the amount of hornets/wasps there and lack of things there.Written 12 October 2024
- Debbiejac0 contributionsFabulous tripBrilliant day! 3 great stops- plus some dolphins performing for us. Who knew that whistling and clapping would bring them closer! Then after a couple of hours, a small village harbour for lunch in a taverna on the waterside. Then an amazing snorkelling stop at the Blue Lagoon, where you can swim to a small beach. Stunning emerald water. Lastly an hour and half at another island with beach and strip of bars and tavernas, with beautiful clear water. Fun, but not overbearing staff. Very good value- a whole day with lunch for €25! A smaller and personal experience than the large pirate ships, but horses for courses.Written 12 October 2024

Hard to say, I was presented with a polite and informative WhatsApp message confirming the time and place of my pickup in advance - a great way to communicate. The coach was on time, very friendly driver and Martha the tour guide was lovely. Great ride to Kardemena, easy transfer to the boat, picked up on Nisyros and had and excellent day there. (Explore your own restaurant as there’s great choice rather than the recommended one), volcano was great but the stench of sulphur made me feel ill 😷 and the panoramic view from the highest peak as not to be missed. Great trip back, nice boat trip back to Kos and safe drive to my apartment. It’s a pity only 3 of us out of around 40 on the just tipped the driver and only around 10 said Thanks, that’s the sad part of young people these days. Highly recommend this operator, you’ll have a great day and take away once in a lifetime experience or walking on/in an active volcano, however this operator made a great day even better. Thank you

We were staying at the Atlantica Beach Hotel near Kardamaina and wanted to do a trip to Nisyros. TUI were offering the same trip for £55 per person and from other reviews the trip started later in the day and therefore finished later. We found this tour operator and for 2 adults and a child it cost us £70 in total with a start time of 9am.
We were contacted on WhatsApp the day before travel with pickup information and a bus came and collected us on time from our hotel. We were dropped off and met by a nice local lady who walked us through Kardamaina to the harbour. We then boarded the boat and a short while later we were on route to Nisyros.
When we got to Nisyros we gathered with our assigned Tour guide (Michael) who had his work cut out having to do both German and English translations. The group was mostly German with only two families who spoke English. Michael was absolutely fantastic, with his translations flowing very nicely and we missed nothing.
The Volcano entry cost my wife and I €3 but my son was free (under 12’s are free).
We had around 30 minutes in the volcano and got some great photos / videos. Our 7 year old did the walk with no issues. There was a little cafe there so we had a quick drink before jumping back on the bus.
We were then driven to Nisyros Harbour. Michael then walked us through the town, giving us updates on parts of the town as we walked through.
We were then given around 3 hours to have lunch and walk back to the harbour. We had lunch at Vegros Restaurant which was very reasonably priced and lovely service as well (some cute kittens hanging around too)!!
We walked back and had a Volcano Ice Cream at Piccolo Cafe, had a browse through some shops (and bought a few little souvenirs) and then had a milkshake at Seaview Cafe-Bar.
We then headed back to the boat and headed home.
On arrival back at Kardamaina, we followed the crowd to a nearby car park and were directed to our transport home. We had a small minibus with another family to drop us back. It felt like we had our own taxi!
In all I am really happy with this experience. Much cheaper than TUI and Michael was great at keeping us engaged and his knowledge was top notch. Thank you

Pick up was 5 minutes later than said but that’s fine. Took 1h30 from Kipriotis Hotel (said to be 45 mins) to get to the Port. No queueing for the boat or bus which was great. Once on the bus, there was a bar and a good 50min-1hr boat trip with good views. Once off the boat, we went to our tour guide, Michalis. Michalis took us to the volcano first. On the way he told us fun facts, however he did say the gas released was Sodium Dioxide instead of Sulphur Dioxide but that’s okay. It was about a 20 minute journey to the volcano. On entry it’s €3 or under 12s free. Personally going down to the crater is a bit unnecessary, however we did it as it’s something we’ll never do again. It took us 30 mins to walk around, go down, take photos and come back up. There was a cafe which was very cheap - it costed €5 for a coffee, coke, and post card. We left and drove to the town where Michalis gave us a guided tour for about 20mins. We had food a Pythos. There were lots of shops and the town was very pretty. Getting the boat back was easy and no queues.
However, getting the bus back is where it went downhill. The order was different so you were not on the bus you came on. The bus we were on was full, solo travellers sat on a seat for 2 people and groups of people split up on their own. Meaning 2 people could not sit together. People did not queue for the bus, they just pushed in and fought their way on.
Overall, the staff were great, the experience was great, it’s just the people who let it down towards the end by being selfish. We were all tired, but it takes the piss when the bus is full to be so selfish.

This was a TUI excursion.
As you would imagine this was a trip to a dormant volcano. Morning started with a pickup at the hotel and then we drove to the islands second port where we boarded a pirate ship. After 90 mins of travel we got to Nisyros where we were advised that we could have some free time and then it would be our trip up the volcano.
We went for a spot of lunch and a drink and then a small tour around the village before returning to the bus for the trip up the volcano. Bus ride took 20 mins or so and once at the top you pay the 3 euro to go in to the volcano. A short walk and you can then enter the crater where you can really smell the Sulphur.
The climb back to the top was hard on the legs but the adventure was worth it.
After this we went to a small village in the hills for a break and i would recommend trying the lava cake. Yummy.
From here we went back down to the harbor where we were advised that we were getting a ferry back to the island and not the pirate boat as expected. This was not an issue but took a little of the shine off the trip.
Because we booked via TUI we got a full English guide who was excellent and full of information.
If you have never done a trip like this its worth it although very tiering.

Had a great time on Nisyros! The volcanic crater was surrounded by mountains and it was awesome to have the chance to walk into it. The capital city of Mandraki was beautiful, it has stone paved walkways and an amazing ocean view. Giving the experience a 4/5 because the guide spoke very fast and was hard to understand at times, and because the total time traveling (bus and ferry) took longer than actual time spent on Nisyros. Also if you do go be sure to wear closed toed shoes.

This was a well organised and slick trip. From the pick up outside Pizza Con to the drop off, all arrangements were clear and accurate. The boat ride was lovely; ours was only half full, so we had room to move around. The volcano was a novel experience and one to tell others about back home! We did not find the climb bad but would advise going straight to the volcano off the bus to allow for a coffee / cool drink afterwards at the (very reasonably priced) cafe back up the top. Our guide, Martha told us many interesting facts when on the coach to the villages and volcano. Her recommendation of restaurant for lunch was also spot on and worthy of a visit. We had a very good day and would certainly recommend to others. It was a good place to not have to drive yourself!!

This trip was well organized and everything went smoothly. Trip includes hotel pickup and transfer to Kardámaina. The bus was air conditioned and was on time. When you arrive to Kardámaina you walk to the pier and take a 1h boat ride to Nisyros. There you have 2-3 hours to eat and explore the town. After your free time, you take a bus to see the crater. We stayed there 40 minutes, which is plenty of time to look around and feel the unique atmosphere.
We had the english speaking tour leader Martha, who kept us informed the whole trip and told us about the island of Nisyros during the bus ride.
I would recomend this trip to everyone staying in Kos.

This trip is perfectly arranged! Transport was clearly communicated and the tour + free time was balanced out good. I have booked this trip the day before on 23:30 and I already received the details via app on 02:00. Pickup was a few minutes late, but the bus did arrive at the communicated location. Bus travel to the boat is approximately 30 minutes, then by boat for an hour (boat is way colder, so make sure you pack a jacket). Right after arriving to Nysiros, you will be in another bus for about 25 minutes. I would therefore recommend to bring drinks and snacks with you, since commuting takes about 2 hours (not annoying though since you see a lot of beautiful places). The crater is beautiful! More than enough time to go down, have a drink and go to the toilet (50 minutes total). Then you take the bus back down (25 minutes) to Mandraki where you have 2.5 - 3 hours to spend (boat leaves at 15:30 again). In a lot of reviews there are complaints over the length you have to spend in Mandraki. We thought it was perfect. Exactly enough time to visit the monastery and the castle (paleo castro). Especially the castle is highly recommendable. Only remark I have: the guide was not clear about where you can find the castle. It is quite a climb (20 minutes with a difficult and steep path to climb, make sure to wear good shoes!), and not really easy to find by yourself. Further than that the guide was really good and funny (I think his name was Michael). After visiting the monastery and the castle we could still eat and then return to the harbour on an easy pace, without having to kill any more time. Boat and bus back were also on time. A great day out in Greece! Note that we had soft weather (19 degrees and wind) and due to that, the crater did not stink so bad during our trip. On hot days the smell can be devastatingly penetrating apparently.

Myself and my partner booked through trip advisor as it was cheaper than through Tui, and other reviews seemed really good. Our hotel was not listed on the pick up locations but this was not an issue, i left a note when booking with our hotel name and the day before the trip, they messaged via whatsapp to confirm and arrived on time on the day of the trip. Throughout the whole day, timings were very punctual. Martha was our tour guide who was excellent and provided history of the island as we made our way round. We stopped at the volcano first which was around 30 minutes from the port. We stopped there for 45 minutes, which in our opinion, was enough time due to the heat, the smell was not as strong as some other reviews stated but Martha mentioned this can depend on the weather and winds. We then went back down to the village of Mandraki. Martha walked us around 15 minutes to a restaurant they recommend, but there are other places to eat at, and then free time was from then, this was around 2.5 hours, which again, we felt was enough time to have lunch and explore the village. The boat left at 3:30pm but we had to be onboard 15 minutes prior and we arrived back at 4:30pm.

Had a great time on our tour. Booked it via Trip-adviser, which was a first for us. Was simple and cheaper than booking in the town. Pick up was arranged via Whats-app and all in all was a great experience from start to finish. Trip was a full day excursion with plenty of time to eat and drink along the way and the guide was very knowledgeable. It was very active trip and the walk down to the surface of the volcano might be beyond some. You don't need to walk down but what's the point in going I'd say if you can't do the trip highlight. If I have any criticism it would be that we had problems with coach seats on our return journey as we were last on due a bit of a bull bait getting to hear which coach was ours.....some older travelers might find this stressful. We found it a bit poor and we ended up on the very back seats wedged between two people who just did not want us beside them and left us no room. They weren't British let's put it that way:) All in all a well worth trip and very interesting to walk on the volcano surface.
