About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- DorwardC0 contributionsWell organised and operatedWell organised and friendly staff. Trip got cancelled due to unexpected weather but staff handled well under the circumstances.Written 15 January 2025
- Runjuni C0 contributionsComing backIt was an amazing experience, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The arrangements were awesome, though a few things were missing, like dolphins. Despite the cruise tour promising dolphins, none were spotted. Still, 5 stars for the excellent service!Written 3 January 2025
- healing4youau0 contributionsFabulous day outWhat an amazing day out. Went with my 8yo. Super long day but what a beautiful experience. Booked via Viator, pick up point was a little further away and contacted the company who happily changed it to a closer location. There was a 1 hr drive to Brisbane but Michelle our driver was so friendly and chatted the way there, pointing out sights and great knowledge of the area. Arrived with good timing and boarded the boat. There was 100 people on board but the company do a good job splitting the group in half so it doesn’t feel super crowded. Half go snorkeling while the others have lunch and go to the beach and then swap. The day for us was perfect. The current is strong and you do need to have a good swimming ability to do the reef wreckage. Lunch was ok - simple ham, chicken wings and prawns and 2 salads - nothing fancy but enough. Beach was great and perfect water. Staff are all super friendly, kind and nothing is too difficult Special mention to Madison who went out of her way to check in on my 8 yo and make him feel safe. Overall a brilliant day with a fabulous organisationWritten 23 December 2024

- akardern0 contributionsCrystal clear water and incredible snorkelingSuch a wonderful day out on the water. Crystal clear water, incredible snorkeling with the most sea life we’ve ever seen. The wrecks definitely make it a really great snorkel! Morton Island is beautiful with its soft white sand and warm waters. Our daughter used the paddle boards supplied and loved that. Right from pick up we had exceptionally friendly service. A great boat, and can highly recommend the comfort of the Captains Lounge. A lovely place to relax on the way back in with wine in hand! The lunch was also delicious. Exceptionally fresh options including salads, pasta, chicken, brad rolls, and my favourite..the prawns. Well received by all after the snorkel. From the boat Captain Mick spotted pods of dolphins and some beautiful large sea turtles so pulled alongside for a look. So stunning. Highly recommend a day out!Written 28 April 2024

The Captain Wayne went out of his way to make sure we saw all the wildlife animals that call Moreton home. Up close we saw turtles, stingrays, a shark, dolphins and my personal favourite Doug the Dugong (if you’ve never seen the cow of the sea I strongly recommend the trip for that alone). He knew where they all were and was very knowledgeable.
The visit to the island itself was perfectly relaxing. The sand is picturesque, with some of the biggest sand dunes in the world. The island is a perfect getaway from the city. Topped off perfectly with a nice buffet of prawns 🍤
The highlight for me was definitely the snorkeling of the wrecks. The water is impeccably clear and the wrecks manage to provide the wildlife with their own little home. It’s bright and colourful with the backdrop of rustic sunken ships.
This is the perfect trip for everyone. I went with my Mum, brother & his wife. We range in age from 24 - 61 and vary significantly in swimming ability. The trip is designed in a way that all people can participate and the crew were so helpful in providing extra assistance when needed (pool noodles for support & life jackets).
Having just moved back to SEQ after living in Melbourne, this trip was exactly the little getaway I needed. It is such a phenomenal trip and I can not recommend it highly enough. I promise it won’t disappoint you and have fun! Say hi to Doug the Dugong for me!

Had a great time on the SeeMoreton tour on my travels in Australia. I got picked up from Brisbane CBD early in the morning then shuttled over to where the boat departed at the docks. We were checked in by very friendly staff then it was then about a 75-minute boat journey to Moreton Island.
Before we reached the island we did the marine discovery part of the tour, where the very informative Wayne talked us through the local wildlife and we tried to spot turtles and Dougie the Dugong. After anchoring, we had lunch consisting of salads, bread rolls and cold meats and fish, then were tendered out to the beach for some relaxing beach time. Afterwards we were picked up by the snorkelling boat and ferried to the Tangalooma Wrecks for a guided snorkelling tour with the very amiable staff. This was great as the wrecks had plenty of tropical fish and corals to see - some of our group even saw dolphins up close! Then back to the boat for some refreshments and the journey back to Brisbane.
The warm and welcoming staff definitely made this a tour to remember and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore what Moreton has to offer. It only loses a star because I feel the cost of the tour was a little steep for what it consisted of.

We can't believe that this was a short boat ride from Brisbane; it felt like we were transported to a faraway tropical island. The water is crystal clear and SO beautiful!
The tour itself was excellent, from the delicious buffet lunch (fresh king prawns were a highlight!) to the friendly staff. You can tell the crew really love what they do. Who can blame them, seeing dolphins every day and swimming in gorgeous water.
All snorkeling gear was included, which was great as my friends and I are beginners. The wrecks are worth every dollar, I've never seen something like it. There were so many fish and we even saw a sea turtle. Was definitely the highlight of my day.
The beach was pristine with soft sand and plenty things to do. You can climb up to the top of sand dunes for some great views of Moreton Island.
I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Brisbane or locals looking for a quick get away. It's absolutely incredible and we are already planning on a return with See Moreton next year!

Wow, that sounds like you had a wonderful time on our See Moreton Dolphin & Tangalooma Wrecks Cruise. We might be biased but I think we have the best snorkel sites in Australia and agree the Tangalooma Wrecks are a must-see. Seeing turtles is always an amazing experience, not every day that you can swim with such beautiful creatures.
I hope you made the most of the buffet lunch, our mouths are watering just reading about it.
Can't wait to see you next season, Nikki. Happy travels.

The boat had approximately 100+ passengers. We were divided into two groups, half to snorkel before lunch and half to snorkel after lunch. Around 50 people got into the water at once for about a 30 minute guided tour. It was chaotic and also resulted in very poor visibility. I’ve been on many snorkelling tours and this was by far the most stressful because there were so many of us in close proximity. Lunch was well organised and had good food options. It was followed by about 40 minutes of beach time, there were kayaks available but you cannot kayak to the wrecks.
The staff were amazing - friendly, professional and attentive. I would only recommend this trip if you are looking for 4 to 5 hours riding in a boat and lunch, but if you’re interested in snorkelling or other activities - I cannot recommend this tour.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the feedback and will take your comments into consideration. It’s great to hear you enjoy the tropical buffet lunch and found the service from the staff to be amazing. The vessel is surveyed for 190 passengers and we cap tickets at 120 persons for guest comfort. Christmas and New Year’s are extremely busy times for both the island and tour operators. For guests looking for an experience with limited numbers, we recommend travelling outside of peak periods. If you’d like to discuss any aspect of your tour further with a member of our Management Team please feel free to get in touch at info@seemoreton.com.au.

7 hours on a slooooow overcrowded catamaran for 40 min snorkel - no thanks. thank goodness we booked the VIP lounge otherwise it would’ve been the most unpleasant experience. Boat was packed and crowded. Snorkelled for 40 mins. It was chaos. So many people in the water, crew did the best they could but it was not a great experience. I’m just thankful we are all strong swimmers and snorkellers. The wrecks were amazing and full of sea life/colour we just couldn’t appreciate them due to the overcrowded tour and crew trying to control the crowd.

The advertising for this trip was extremely miss leading and really poor value for money! I have spent over 4 months travelling Asia & Australia and this was by far the worst day trip at sea I’ve experienced.
Advertised:
“Our full-day tours are all about freedom and flexibility, allowing you to choose the pace of your day from deeply relaxed to high-energy adventure“
Reality:
Very rushed snorkel trip with no freedom, very congested with people bumping into one another trying to stay within the given perimeter. It felt like a child’s swimming lesson.
Advertised:
“join our naturalist guides in a fish-feeding session with the 200 species that frequent the area”
Reality:
Some fish food handed out to throw over the side of the small snorkelling boat then heading back to the catamaran moments later. No information on the activity from a guide and only one common species of fish seen.
Advertised:
“Satisfy your appetite with a gourmet tropical buffet featuring ocean king prawns, and quench your thirst with a glass of local wine, craft beer or frozen cocktail.”
“an all-inclusive day cruise to Moreton Island will leave you feeling revitalised in this unique pocket of the world.”
Reality:
Cold buffet lunch and room temperature water from a water dispenser.
Snacks, alcoholic & soft drinks available at a PAID bar.
Advertised:
“no trip to Moreton Island is complete without witnessing some of Queensland’s best marine wildlife. Home to one of the largest populations of bottlenose dolphins in Australia, watch as they jump and play in turquoise waters. Keep an eye out for six of the world’s seven species of sea turtles and herds of shy and gentle dugongs in one of the world’s remaining strongholds for this species.”
Reality:
The captain told us there was no point in looking for any marine wildlife due to the weather. Instead we were shown the same views of beaches and the resort on Moreton Island as we seen on the way there

Booked and paid for 3 tickets. Didn't receive them and when I enquired about them I was told that "the boat wasn't going out" (less than 24 hours prior to departure).
I'm very disappointed that we all took time off work to pay for 3 tickets and not receive anything and that we now have to wait 5 to 6 business days for our refund.
I'm glad I enquired about the tickets before traveling all the way to the island before being told that the trip was cancelled. A courtesy email would have been nice at least.

Hi Munique,
We are sorry that your cruise was cancelled and you did not get to experience our cruise. We don't take cancelling lightly, however unfortunately it is the reality of operators subject to not only sea/weather conditions, but also cruise numbers. Like many tour operators in Australia, we have been hit hard by COVID and are trying our best to run tours. We will always contact customers to notify them if a cruise has been cancelled, and will always offer to reschedule them, or refund them. In this case, you chose to get a refund.
We would love to discuss this further with you, and have you join our tour to experience the great tour that it is. Please give me a call on 07 3153 1069. Look forward to hearing from you, Alana - See Moreton Management

We were sadly very disappointed with our experience. We felt it was over priced with far too many rules and a lack of fun and snorkelling time. Too many people on board meant that the group was divided into two groups halfing the time snorkelling in the water.
The crew on board the ship were very friendly and began with a great introduction. We were intially very excited about the day ahead.
We arrived at the island and then were served a very lovely lunch.
However the purpose of the trip was the disappointment as we were given a very short time snorkelling.
We went on the trip for the dolphin and wreckage experience.
Once our group was able to snorkel we were very restricted between only two of the wrecks.
The crew Shouted repeatedly that we had to stay between the two ships.
We were horrified to see other members of the group standing on the coral without a word from the crew and we were given gloves to stop our hands getting injured. (Personally I think we should have been told not too touch the wrecks and coral for future preservation).
The size of the group was extremely large making the wreckage very overcrowded.
We didnt see dolphins turtles or large fish and only had 45 mins allocated to snorkel in the small area allocated.
The best part of the trip was the lunch and the beautiful couple we met who were equally disappointed but had a pack of cards for the trip back to bring up our spirits.
Save your money and stay on the island yourself, then you can take all the time you like to snorkel without any rules.

Hi Yorky,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience with See Moreton Dolphin & Tangalooma Wrecks Cruise.
We appreciate the feedback and will take your comments into consideration. It is great to hear that you were able to swim and see the wonderful Tangalooma Wrecks. The vessel is surveyed for 190 passengers and we cap tickets at 120 persons for guest comfort.
We divide the tour into two snorkel groups on these occasions, with the same time allocated to each group. Please see our website for the daily itinerary https://seemoreton.com.au/the-tour/#yourday.

An amazing day trip beautiful beach very good café reasonably price and range considering it’s the only place to buy. A choice of different activities including in trip- we did the snorkelling which was brilliant we saw a turtle 2 sharks (small of course) and puffer fish and 1000s of different fish.
The day is finished off with the dolphins coming in to be fed, it is very controlled,so the dolphins are protected and are priority. The ferry trip to and from is comfortable with a drink included but other snacks available.
Would 100% recommend and will definitely return

Three stars rating is not referring to the service! But the weather on that day. The service is excellent!
Together with other guests we gathered at the meeting on time. But we saw the van drove though us three times😆. Anyway, we managed to get to marina on time. The boat is great, we had a warm welcome tea with muffins and coffee. Made some friends and head to the wreck. We can’t hear what the skipper said really so we are confused about what to do next, maybe they consider to write down the itinerary onboard? After the wreck diving, weather changed badly the sea became so rough we won’t be able to do what we are suppose to do in the afternoon. At this point , I am disappointed! But the skippers decision is true on the way back the sea is super bumpy and can barely seat still. I appreciated the crews help and care to us. However, it can be better if they list what to bring on their website. But anyway, the crew is fantastic love them !!!!
Together with other guests we gathered at the meeting on time. But we saw the van drove though us three times😆. Anyway, we managed to get to marina on time. Thank you for your review of See Moreton! We are glad that in spite of the difficult weather the Captain and crew made sure you were all looked after. We hope to see you back on board in future on a calmer day.

I will land on Brisbane at 0500 on 6 Mar, can I join 6 Mar day trip on time? I saw it starts at 0900. For my husband’s and my luggage, do you have a car or coach that I can put into?

I believe you'd have plenty of time to get from the airport to the marina. Probably best if you booked the transfer before you arrive in Brisbane. There isn't a built check-in counter when you get there, so i'm not sure you can leave your luggage at the marina with SeeMoreton. If your luggage is not too big, I'd call or email SeeMoreton directly and ask them if they'll allow you to take your luggage onboard with you.
