    Fantastic and highly recommend
Highly recommend. You can visit where you want and travel in an air conditioned vehicle. Our guide Josh was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared lots with us about Malaysian culture, and thoughtfully answered all our questions. Our teen son even thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Authentic experience with culture and food!
Mr. Lester Lam was an excellent tour guide and gave us unique insight into George Town! We were able to learn so much about the diverse history of Malaysia and a great deal about the Chinese who came to Penang for work and better opportunities. Lester took a lot of pictures of us as well so that helped us get more shots of us together than we would have visiting these places on our own. We had a special treat by going to lunch at a wet market where Lester told us the best things to order and even encouraged us to try some intriguing items that would have been too intimidating without his knowledge. I am so happy we found this tour with a professional guide and would gladly recommend this to friends and family who decide to venture out to George Town in the future!

    Comfortable travel and interesting destinations
Our guide, Jeff, was a really lovely guy, very generous and knowledgeable. He is a Penangite and really knows the island. He has interesting stories about all aspects of life in this region. We did the hill funicular car which was great, the Kek temple, and possibly best of all was the drive over the central highland to see the west coast and have a glimpse of Penang life away from Georgetown. Tried the durian and it was lovely but watch the burps afterwards as people in the same car aren’t generally impressed!

    Wonderful day tour of Oenang
We had a fantastic time touring around Penang with our guide Lester. He was very professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of the surrounding area. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and chose an excellent hawker centre for us to have lunch. Lester was very understanding of our needs and we both learnt a lot about the culture and traditions of the local people. We would definitely recommend visitors to this area to chose this company.

    Excellent Tour Guide
I can't speak highly enough of our experience. Our guide Goh was really great company and so knowledgeable about all the places we visited. It's worth saying that you are able to tailor your trip to suit what your priorities are. We did Kek Lok Si temple followed by Penang Hill before finishing at Pinang Perenakan. Highly recommend Penang in general and this tour as a great way to see the island.

We arrived into George Town with no expectations other than we knew it was a foody place, so wanted to explore this as we love food. We saw that this tour was fully booked for the duration of our visit but we emailed them anyway asking if there was any space before we left. Luckily they got straight back to us and said there was space the following day. We met up with James who told us it was just the two of us as the other people cancelled. James was simply amazing, his knowledge of Penang was outstanding, he asked us straight away what sort of food we liked and how spicy, sweet etc within 2 minutes we were eating a delicious meal!!! The tour is great for historical sites as well as the food. We visited a lovely temple, saw the old rail lines and he explained all the different architecture. We loved it so much. One thing we would recommend is try not to eat anything before the tour as you will eat more than you know!!

Thanks Elle. Yes, a great way to get to know this city is through a foods and cultural walking tour. Here you can sample the foods and get lesson in culture which will be a prelude to more things when you explore George Town on your own. Have a nice day. Cheers.

King our guide was very knowledgeable about George Town and the food it offers and imparted this knowledge with passion and enthusiasm. We walked to four different food outlets between which we were shown and had explained to us, the architecture, the cultural influences and the history.
King was extremely well organised, bringing with him umbrellas, spare cutlery, tissues and wet wipes, which were all necessary. He also organised the trip so that the most flavoursome food was at our final stop, so as not to dull our taste buds when trying the more delicately flavoured ones

With only two full days in Penang, we were very pleased we did this tour. The 4pm start made sure we had plenty of time to explore in the day and then we were glad we took the trip advisor recommendation and skipped lunch.

James was a fantastic guide, taking us to both street food stalls and small restaurants to try plenty of the different flavours and food in George Town. There were far too many dishes to name in here, but the amount we tried was incredible. We expected lots of small samples, but we had full dishes between us, so we were plenty satisfied by the end.

The temple stop was also interesting and a good break from eating. If you do stop over in George Town and keen to try some of the best food in Malaysia, we definitely recommend doing this, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Mark. In George Town we had so many types of hawkers, we have to thanks the British who put the Chinese, Indian and Malays in their exclaves and created a fusion not seen in home country. Glad that you like your tour. Have a nice day. Cheers.

What an amazing experience!

James Ling was our host and did an incredible job at showing us around Penang and talking us through all it has to offer. Not only did we have heaps of delicious food, but we also learned so much about the city’s history and cultural influences. He is truly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does.

I would highly recommend the tour (and James) to anyone visiting the area, and already can’t wait to try more. Thank you!

Poh was great, very polite and good at keeping smiles up. We had a nice walk with some tidbits of knowledge on the way. Enjoyed the Taoist temple tour along the way.

The places we went to eat certainly felt authentic and served a lot of local foods. That said, there is A LOT of food and rather than a refined ‘best eats’ it feels a bit like an overindulgence of many similar noodle dishes and broths.

Alarmingly, there were drinks with ice cubes and some cold chicken wings which I inherently regret this morning as yesterday’s fun is pouring out of me like an Icelandic volcano eruption whilst my stomach is tying knots not even the most seasoned seaman could undo. I wish I could attribute this to anything else, but this food tour has been my only intake in the last 36 hours before feeling very unwell.

It is always fun to try local food in a guided setting, but know the risk of limiting your holiday fun in the following days.

Thank you for your review. We deeply regret the discomfort you experienced post our food tour. Your well-being is our utmost concern. We're actively investigating the matter to address and rectify any lapses and give precaution on ice cube and remove cold dishes from the tour to those who just arrived from abroad or those who come by cruise. Thank you for bringing this to our attention; your feedback is invaluable in improving our services. We sincerely hope you recover swiftly.

Stuffed to the brim, tried a multitude of different types of foods, walked a lot. Beatrice was our tour guide and provided us with tidbits of Penang history in between our walking street food tour. We tried so many different types of foods throughout the tour and learned about some of the histories of the food. Had we not been on this tour, we definitely would not have been able to try some of the dishes and would have had an issue to find and acquaint ourselves with some locations. I would highly recommend this awesome tour to learn about Penang history and immerse yourself in the food culture. Would highly recommend Beatrice as well!

I did this tour on my first evening in Georgetown and what a great introduction to the town! Beatrice was an excellent tour guide with amazing passion and energy. She was also really thoughtful and made sure dietary restrictions were considerations. We ate SO much... go into this hungry. Highly recommend as a great way to sample the culinary delights of Penang

Thank you for the review. There are a lot of foods in this tour but we barely tasted 10-13 out of 100 + hawker foods available in Penang. Maybe you can try more of them on your own. Have a nice day. Cheers.

We booked this food tour to learn more about the history of Penang and ensure we sampled local food recommended by locals. James was an amazing guide. His knowledge of the area, the history, the spices and the food was outstanding. He patiently answered all our questions and found amazing spots to sample Penang’s varied food and culture. Not only were we astounded by the tastes and sights, but James had amazing stories all along the way. We can safely say that we were full and satisfied and the time sped by. Not even the torrential downpour dampened our spirits. I would definitely recommend this tour and James for couples and families with older children. Your taste buds will thank you!

The foodtour in itself was great, informative and good food (i could not taste all since I don’t like spicy).
We were 6, paying 360 Euro. Considering the very low foodprice for very good food 5 to 30 Ringgit, this tour is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Sorry. Check the monthly salary.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Shirin, so sorry that the quality of foods tour does not live up to your expectation. All the street food types and tour prices are listed in website and tour guide was to make sure all preferences (like spicy, allergy, sweetness, religious etc.) are, or at least being taken care of. We do not have Michelin Star hawker street foods, but some of the hawker have Michelin Star Bib /Mention. The tour went through the normal route and tasted foods that was listed, as well as visit some attraction like temple for cultural experience. Over the years, inflation had set in even here in Penang and prices has increased since couple months ago. We offered hawkers food that are found locally here and I am sorry that you cannot take much spicy foods. What we offer are food tastings + culture + history tour, all rolled in one. We valued your feedback and we will review our foods selection and price point so that everyone can enjoy. Have a nice day.
