Great intro to the Gold Coast
From initial enquiry to the end of the tour I was impressed with the excellent communication that covered all questions. Nelson was calm (good for my nerves) and awesome in explaining water currents and wind direction during the tour to help guide us well through the seaway. Fantastic views, wildlife, beautiful scenery from the water, good workout - overall a wonderful experience. Will do again. Highly recommend 10/10

Kayaking and Snorkeling
Wonderful experience! Being a non swimmer , I was quite apprehensive but went ahead because of my love for marine life . Kayaking was fun and Carolina was a big help as we had a bit of trouble in the rough waters . Got to see so many colourful fish. Highly recommend this tour even to those who cannot swim . Thank you Carolina for helping out!

The best day out
The helensvale scout group had a great day out kayaking and morning tea with beach games with seaway kayaking tours. We had the best day, i would highly recommend seaway to anyone interested in kayaking. We are planning the snorkelling tour with seaway next time. Thank you seaway kayaking tours

What a wonderful fun out!
I have joined this kayak tour yesterday, 7th Oct, 2020. The weather was perfect for kayaking. I've really enjoyed the tour, fun on kayaking and snorkeling. Saw variety of fish, I saw one kind of fish I didn't recognize even though I fish around here. This is a nice fun day out attraction, I really recommend for all, even with little kids the surf is not rough. Thank you Alex, it was great fun! Hiro,

Best experience ever! Had the pleasure to enjoy the Chill Out Tour as well the Water Bike tour and was the highlight of my days in Gold Coast. Friendly staff, safe practice and high hygiene standards especially under the current circumstances. Would highly recommend this guys!

The Gift That Keeps On Giving
My partner and I went on the “Chill Out” tour to celebrate his birthday, and we both had the most wonderful time! No kayaking experience necessary as a quick demo is provided before heading out. We had perfect weather and saw beautiful fish while out snorkelling. The tour guide was fantastic with a wealth of knowledge about the area. We had time to explore, kick back and relax, and were later surprised with a delicious lunch that catered to our dietary needs, such a thoughtful touch. They even bought a cake and got the group to join in and celebrate my partner’s birthday. A fantastic day ran by the most lovely and genuine people made for what truly was the gift that kept on giving. Thank you :)))

We did the quick escape with two young children aged 4 and 7. It was the perfect amount of time and activities to keep our little ones engaged and happy. Our 7 year old son said it was the best thing we have done on our holiday yet, better than the worlds.

Trip cancelled and extended delay in receiving refund
I wanted to write this review so that anyone that has had their trip cancelled is aware of the potential issues faced in receiving their refund. It took over a month for me to receive the refund which included multiple texts and emails over this period. When booking this experience I was disappointed but understanding when it was cancelled, however the delay in receiving the refund is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Very chilled
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Our guide Sam made it lots of fun and very relaxed. He was very friendly and took lots of photos. Only disappointment was not seeing dolphins but I guess they are wild. Water visibility wasn’t great when we went snorkelling. But these 2 things are out of everyone’s control.

Poor communication
Had booked the chill out tour and was contacted a few days before to say that the day we had booked wasn't looking great weather wise so asked if we could change, which we did. Was then contacted to say that the weather was going to be bad on the new day and would we be happy to change to a shorter tour which we said yes to. On the morning we arrived at the time stated but no van was there, hadn't received any email with regard to the tour being cancelled. Finally resorted to calling and was told on the phone it was cancelled and they allegedly emailed me at 9am, I received no email about this tour being cancelled. I understand they can't control the weather and that's not what the 2 stars is for, they got 2 stars because they didn't bother getting in touch and we ended up travelling to the meeting point which was a waste if fuel and time. If we're ever back in the Gold Coast area, I probably wouldn't book with this company again in case of similar issues.

Relaxed with beautiful scenery
Other than swarms of mosquitoes and Blue Bottle Jellyfish on Stradbroke Island, the Chillout Tour was safe with an attentive guide. No experience necessary. Scenery was outstanding. Kayaking not too strenuous with a seat in a wide, plastic kayak. The fish & chip lunch nothing special. The fish seen while snorkeling were beautiful. It's a great way to spend 4 hours.

Honestly the best experience we had a small group of 4 and our tour guide the lovely Lucas was very lovely and taught us what we needed to know and was very patient and helpful. Definitely go with these guys and hopefully you'll have Lucas to guide you😊

Enjoyable tour
A really enjoyable chill out tour with seaway kayaking. Staff really look after you making sure you are happy. The food was lovely (fish and chips). Thanks again for a great day

Highly recommended

Tour guide was enthusiastic and made the whole trip a lot more fun. Was my first time snorkeling and I thought it was a good intro for snorkeling beginners as it wasn’t right in the middle of an open ocean but rather near the shore. You’ll still be able to see fishes.

Super fun adventure

If you want to have a fun time kayaking and snorkelling just do this tour!! Super friendly tour guides. Very enthusiastic and keen to make sure everyone felt safe and had a good time. Even took some photos of us! Pointed out a lot of fish during snorkelling and gave clear instructions while kayaking. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous time with great crew

We are a family of 4 with a young child and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Booking was very easy and I like the fact that all the waiver was done electronically.
The day’s wind was quite strong but Nelson, Caroline and Dane did a fabulous job getting us across to Wavebreak Island to snorkel.
They were very helpful to make sure everyone is enjoying ourselves and keeping our spirits high.
The snorkel area was decent - you can see a number of fishes but be careful of the sharp rocks.
All in it was a great time and was well worth.

Money hungry company ( no refunds / no help / no professionalism )

I’m deeply disappointed with the company that provides this kayaking stuff and I’d like to receive a refund because I couldn’t use it( reasons and explanations below):

1. Ive originally booked a kayaking and snorkeling activities on 14/03/2021 at 1:40pm. The company texted me night before telling they couldn’t reach the number of people on afternoon, and requested me to change it for the morning instead (10:40am). I had to squeeze my other morning activities to be able to get there on time, but I was being easy going and accepted their request ( a big mistake ). Anyway, on the way to this place the traffic was very congested so I called the company letting them know I might be running late or be arriving just on departing time 11:00am). At first they told me they couldn’t do anything about it, so I was about to cancel my taxi , however they called me back and told me they would wait for me. I kept the trip ( almost $60 to get there) and finally arrived 11:02am. They were not ready to go, the guy was getting kayaks off the truck , so I introduced myself and said that I called and anyway I was there ready to go. To my surprise the guide was completely rude, didn’t even wanna talk and just told me off . I try to talk to him and explain that I had to come from really far, and I was meant to go at 1:40pm , but he didn’t wanna listening and just left me talking to myself. I called the office again and they told me they can’t do nothing about and I’m not entitled to a refund . So what kind of business is this? I was flexible and easy going with them and accepted to change my schedule so we don’t miss the activity, and they refused me on spot in a really impolite way. The result of it? $138 dollars on tickets + $60 dollars transport to get there completely wasted . I’m on Holidays with my family and this experience was unpleasant, uncomfortable and unreasonable. I couldn’t book something else to do so I just wasted one day here , just because a hot headed staff member didn’t wanna do his job.

Maybe sounds repetitive but one more time, they weren’t ready to depart when I got there. They were unloading the kaiaks and nobody was ready or had receive instructions. I stay there until they departed ( after almost 30 minutes ), so it only shows that the guy just didn’t wanna accept us. Terrible experience .

Hi Pedro...We have also replied the review made by your partner about the same issue. Firstly, if you decided to organise your day to do our activity that was merely your decision. As stated on our policies if you were not available to change to the available time, you would have been entitled a full refund. Secondly, there is something you missed in you story which is: on the first call you made announcing your 10mints delay, we clearly told you that it was already late but all the team agreed to make an exemption and wait for you until 10:50am and you were clearly informed about this, and for this reason you decided to take your Uber. But then you called again while in the Uber to change the ETA from 10:50am to 11:03am at what you were informed that time was going to be extremely late. Third, you still believe the group was not ready to go. As explained to you over the phone we have a protocol check in process that takes 15-20 mints and for this reason your meeting time was clearly notified to be at 10:40am, not 11:03am. When you arrived, all the customers were already on the beach with equipment ready to start safety induction, they all arrived at 10:40-10:45am. It is simply not the right thing to delay an entire group for late arrivals. As you know (because you saw it) your equipment was left in the trailer, so we locked equipment, food and staff for you, and for this reason is clearly stated in our policies NO REFUNDS ARE ENTITLED FOR LATE ARRIVALS OR NOR SHOWS. Please check our cancellation/refund policies here: https://www.seawaykayakingtours.com.au/bookings-cancellation-policies/ I invite you to always check the terms and conditions of what you purchase (experiences or things) and also to accept that every business has its policies that does not have to be changed for your mistakes. If we were money hungry as you call us, we would have not offered you to come the next day, an action we did again making another exception for you. We offered you to join another tour or a full day kayak and sup boards rental on the next day. Lastly, We use all feedbacks to learn and improve but in this case you should acknowledge the problem was merely caused by you and we tried to help you (as you mentioned on your review). It is a real shame you and your partner have unfairly decided to go and fill our platforms with your terrible reviews, damaging our reputation but obviating all the attempts we made to offer you a solution to a problem only caused only by you.

Relaxing Tour

Reasonable price for what the tour is for, had a break with snacks and dry bags to store stuff. The tour was a bit different to the snorkeling tours I've been on before, there's not a lot of instructions you kinda just walk to the snorkeling spot after a bit of kayaking and swim to the spot yourself to explore. Didnt see much besides like 2 types of fish. Guides were really friendly but didn’t point out any wildlife or give any history of the area and the group was very segregated/not engaged. Digital photos were taken and easy to retrieve from the facebook group (communication was good)

Not worth the $80

The people are nice enough and the exercise is well organised. The estuary setting is also beautiful. But that's where it ends. The snorkelling is really meh. From the advertising material I was expecting fantastic. The water is murky, it's only a small area and the fish arent that exciting or.numerous. The kayaking is also very short, even though there is a beautiful water playground to explore. One of the nists decided to nitpick my technique, when it really did not matter. We had a lot of first time and inexperienced snorkelers on the trip. But they didn't get any instruction, no staff member went in the water with them and, despite the organisers being overly concerned about currents, snorkelers weren't even given fins. I ended up teaching people myself and they didn't seemuch. meanwhile, for experienced snorkelers it's very restrictive. The No Fun Nellys lean on you heavily to snorkel in a lifejacket and if you want to snorkel more than ten metres offshore- where there are better fish- they have a coronary, yell at you and bring out the lifesaving equipment. Incredibly patronising and I would say the cautionary tales they give of expert swimmers getting in trouble are likely overreaction a from the organisers. Even though you're clearly fine, a very cautious snorkeler, and aware of the currents and now to get out of them if there is a problem. I question if they actually know about instructing snorkelling or diving much themselves and probably shouldn't be running the tour of they don't.have the skillset. Everyone on the tour thought they were ridiculous and needed to prioritise the right guests. For $80 I also expected better food than a piece of fruit and a sesame bar that looked like it had been sent home.in their child's lunchbox three weeks ago. I went to the Wreck the next day at Byron Bay. It was free and way better. There are better options just outside the Gold Coast

Great activity for families, but kind of boring for
young adults. Would suit retired adults as slow pace relaxing.

No experience required, slow paced,easy to get the hang of kayaking if you have never done it before.
This activity is great for young families or people who have never kayaking before.

Young adults may find this boring. Visabilty when snorkelling varies day to day. When we went we could not see past our hand. Price to me is too much.

We consider our tour is very active since we kayak & snorkel all at once in only 2hr. Maybe the day you visited us the weather conditions were so perfect than the paddling was really easy for you. However, we clearly advertise our tour is a family and first-timers friendly activity, with low to medium fitness level required since this varies depending on currents and winds. Some days turn quite challenging and for us this is the magic of doing an outdoor activity where not everything is fixed. Regarding the water visibility we also warn our visitors we are not responsible for this, since this is merely a mother nature's gamble. We wish you all the best and hope you can come in a future with us but in a more challenging day for your fitness level.

Great Experience... but poor pre-event instructions.

We had a super rainy day, but despite the weather, the guides were high in energy and supportive throughout the adventure. The water was murky as a result of the rain, but still saw a few wildlife creatures including a stingray, wobbegong and a big school of diamond fish. I was a little bit disappointed by the small area to swim in - thought it might have been a larger area.

Biggest issue was that the instructions had explicitly said that anyone who arrived after 10:15 (we had a 10:30 start) would not be allowed to join the tour as it would delay others and the safety briefing was essential. Our guides weren't set up until 10:30, and then our tour was delayed until 10:45 as we waited for a few late groups - which meant standing the wet for half an hour unnecessarily. Disappointing that the pre-event instructions didn't match reality.

Perfect snorkelling experince

Fun sand safe kayaking all worth to see beautiful fishes underwater while snorkeling.

The guide also served us hot drinks as the weather was a bit chilly, thus ensured out comfort alongside enjoyment.

The equipment used was of good quality.

Would recommend this tour.

A very relaxing and enjoyable trip

The coach was particularly patient and snorkeled for a long time. At that time, there was another travel agency who arrived later than us, but left much earlier than us. Our coach did not urge us, but instead added a lot of time. After snorkeling, there are hot drinks and snacks to replenish calories.
