The peruvian providor did not picked me up at the place indicated. I was there 10min before!!! And phone line kept busy. I was very frustrated! No whatsapp message, nothing!

Company never showed up and after further investigation online seems to be a fake company and scam. Save your money and look somewhere else.

I had a wonderful time with the Vertical Journey crew! Great, very professional staff. Very experienced. The food and the atmosphere were amazing. So much fun!

A truly special few days in the jungle. Our guides Maria and Koen were fun and incredibly helpful. We did a trip to Tingana reserve to see the wildlife and little farms, then went waterfall rapelling near Tarapoto and stayed in the beautiful Lake Sauce. I also can't recommend enough the lovely ecolodge we stayed in at Lake Sauce. Our hosts there served us wonderful food and were very warm and welcoming. I would recommend bringing strong bug spray though to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes in Tingana...

This experience was very nice, the waterfall was beautiful and I would like to return here. It was one of my best vacations.

I did the tour where you rapel down the Pucayaquillo waterfall! OMG! It was amazing. Tour starts with a 45 minute hike through the jungle into the base of this beautiful waterfall. And then you climb up and rapel down! It’s super fun, we got to do it more than once. The guides are incredible, they’re very patient and some of them speak English. We then were swimming in the pond to cool off and went for yummy lunch by the river. 100% recommended 💯 👌

What a day! We booked the hike and abseiling tour down the Pucayaquillo Waterfall and each part of the journey exceeded our already high expectations. Day started with a prompt pickup at our hotel where we were greeted by Rodrigo and the other two guides, Junior and Wilger. They could not have been more friendly and Rodrigo’s knowledge about the area that he shared with us during our 45 minute car ride to the trailhead was incredibly interesting and informative. And I cannot forget to mention the exquisite taste in music during our ride ;) The hike itself is both breathtaking and challenging. We stopped at several points to admire the landscape and the animals that inhabit the beautiful jungle which was again was great. The rappel along side (and at parts IN) the waterfall was adventurous! I have done several rappers before but none quite like this. The instruction by Rodrigo and the guides before we made our first descent was very thorough and provided in both fluent English and Spanish. We were able to descend as many times as we would like and then enjoy the natural pool at the bottom of the waterfall. The day was capped by a delicious lunch in a town on the way back to Tarapoto and then a drop off back to our original pickup place This is a must for anyone in the Tarapoto area! And I was excited to learn of additional tours and adventures throughout the entire country of Peru provided by Vertical Journey! I will be booking with them again in both the Chachapoyas and Cusco regions! ✌🏼&❤️

One of The most amazing experiences of my Life. This is my third time I travel to the peruvian jungle and my first time I do it The right way. Non conventional tourism and Impeccable level of service; highly recommended.

We went rappelling down a 100 meter waterfall and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Everything was very professional and safe (something that can not be said about most tour agencies in the area], all the equipment had been properly cared for and was in good condition. All the different guides were happy upbeat people, spoke multiple laguages,and were knowledgeable and engaging. You can have guides in english, spanish, french, portugese, dutsch, and even a few more i believe. Rodrigo, Seihad and Rhianna were all wonderful to spend a day with and next time i am in tarapoto i will definitely look to go on another tour with them since they have other options i was unable to try.

This was our best experience in Tarapoto. We were picked up from our hotel and driven an hour outside the city to the Pucayaquillo waterfall entrance, where we had to trek uphill through the jungle for ~45 min to reach the actual waterfall. From there we rappeled down some ~40m (~130ft) twice (they let you do it as many times as you want to - unfortunately I was too out of breath to do any more :/ ). After that i soaked my devastated body in the lake at the bottom of the waterfall. Our guides were the friendliest and funniest guys in Tarapoto - plus they had excellent musical taste during the car rides. Would definitely go back again!

This was one of the highlights of the two months I spent in Peru! This is my last week in Peru. Before I leave, I wanted to make one last excursion into the jungle. The nature reserve & the community who run it are amazing! The Vertical Journey guide was provided such great information throughout the overnight adventure. He was helpful, friendly, and focused on making sure it was a great experience! I got to tour the local chacra (farm), sleep in a hut in the jungle, and ride through the reserve twice - once at night and once in the morning - to see the wildlife that are being protected in the reserve. In my short visit, I saw an anteater, a porcupine, two sloths, a coati, four species of monkeys, some cool snakes, and a lot of beautiful birds, including a Toucan! Most were rather camouflaged which made them easier to see with binoculars than a camera. I’m still impressed at how our guide, Juan, managed to find them all! Thanks to Rodrigo Del Castillo Haas & Vertical Journey & the local guides at Tingana for an unforgettable adventure!

We took the one day rappelling tour to amazing Pucayaquillo waterfall. We also visited the cave, which was nice, but not especially impressing. Summarized: Nice people, fun activities, great lunch, good information, interesting things to see, beautiful nature, authentic location, super guiding!

Several life changing moments that can be checked off my bucket list have now happened with the team from Vertical Journey! Thank You so much for my first waterfall rappel, my first dive into crystal clear Amazonian jungle oasis water, my first rope climb since high school, my first self launch from the top of something taller than me (I really want my own treehouse now) and for the genuine awesomeness from the whole team of EXPERTS! Can't wait to see the next new path you open for the whole world! Rodrigo is like Indiana Jones (with a beard) and Rhianna and Seihat really inspire me to step it up a notch.
