Alberto and Captain Miguel brought us out on an amazing boat ride touring many of the caves and viewing all the beaches along the Algarve from Portimao to down past Carvoreria! Alberto was a wealth of knowledge and information telling us the history and fables of many sights along the way! I highly recommend this tour!

Great trip today! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Amazing views. Hadn’t realised there were so many caves. Team were super, really friendly, knowledgeable & experienced at manoeuvering all the boat wakes, tight cave etc. felt I was in safe hands. Boat was also really fast so a great adrenaline boost too. Highly recommend it. Whole family loved it.

We had an excellent day on the water and saw some incredible sights. Albert, our captain, had great knowledge of the caves and handled the boat like the professional he is! I cannot begin to describe the entire trip…it was a once in a Lifetime adventure!

Today on Sept 7 @ 10 am our group of 6 adult family members took a private 2 hour tour to the spectacular Benagil cave to the end point at the scenic Marinha Beach from Portimao Marina (12 kilometer / 7.5 mile trip one way) led by Captain Michael and tour guide Suzanne. Boat was a clean 18’ -20’ RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) with a quite Honda outboard pushing the boat to 18 to 20 knots under fairly calm conditions (winds 5-10knots. Swells < 2-3’ at 12-14 seconds wind waves 1-2’) and slight overcast skies. Captain Michael maneuvered the boat very skillfully to show us numerous caves and sights along the coast and was patient, courteous and respectful despite the crowded conditions and not so courteous yaks, SUPs and other tour boats vying for spots to get into the different cave and beach sights. Because our boat was smaller, it was able to go into some caves and near shore sights that the larger tour boats could not navigate into to see and experience. Suzanne was friendly and knowledgeable about the coastal sights making the private tour an exceptional experience. They asked if we wanted to take some time to swim in the water near the Marinha beach but we declined the offer but felt that it was nice they asked. We were very happy we made the decision to take the private tour with Arctic Seagull after seeing the other crowded tour boats and how we got to decide what we wanted to do and the smaller size of the boat making the maneuvering into and out of the smaller caves and around the natural and human obstacles effective and also more safe. The cost differential for the private reservation we felt was was nominal and well worth the difference we paid. If it was a rough day then maybe a larger boat would be good but if the weather is bad then the Marine Police will shut down the visits to the cave anyway for safety. Two family members were highly prone to being seasick but they took some non drowsy Dramamine and did fine and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Check the weather forecasts and plan your day. We were advised prime viewing in the caves is usually when the sun is overhead.

First and foremost the zodiac was very convenient, and besides the skipper there was a guide (who took our photos as well😊). The tour itself was beautiful, and if I had to change anything it would be to shorten it, and allow to get out of the zodiac inside the cave. Either way it was a wonderful tour.

Great tour. Roger the guide was awesome! It was well worth the money. Atlantis tours have newer boats and the captain is a good driver.

I was recommended this company by my cousin. The booking was very straightforward, as was the directions to the meeting point. The tour guide on our boat was very clear & knowledgeable. I don’t like water but I really enjoyed this trip & would really recommend this company.

An excellent way to see the coastline. We particularly enjoyed seeing the less famous caves with fewer or no other tourists.

This was a super experience. Natalie was a fantastic tour guide, and the view was spectacular! The tour started right on time.

A perfect tour for our group of four. Small and personalized. Our guides were fun, till us into as many caves as possible and since we had a small craft, easy to get into the smaller caves during low tide. They provide the wet suits so we Didn’t freeze in the cold Atlantic waters for snorkeling. Although we didn’t see much as far as fish, the beauty of the cliffs and colors under the sea was wonderful. If you have a small group you will love this tour.

Loved that we were on a small boat, so that were we’re able to go into all the caves. Both guide and Captain were great and great job to the Captain , who made rising the was easy!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR SNORKELING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. WE ALMOST DROWNED. PLEASE SEE THE FULL STORY BELOW: We (My fiancé and I) we’re taken out by two men in a raft who took us to a remote location about 100 yards / 91 meters from a remote beach and cave like structures. We received 0 / no instruction and after we proceeded to put on our wet suits and flippers (which WE suggested to put on, not them) , they told us to get into the water, but we DIDNT have life preservers on and we aren’t great swimmers. We were in very deep water, and this was only the 2nd time that my fiancé snorkeled and my 1st time, so you can imagine how scared we were but it all happened so fast. After we went in the water (which was green and not see thru), we expected for the people with us (at least 1 of the 2) to come in the water with us. But, THEY didn’t! Instead they drove the boat about 50 yards / 45 meters away and told us to check out the water by the rocks. WHAT DID THEY expect — us to float there for an hour and a half without life vests on? When we realized the situation, we both started to hyperventilate and have panic attacks. We started to call for them (the two men in the boat who brought us), but they were too far away, so instead we did the one thing we could to prevent from drowning and dying, which was to swim on shore. We swam on shore to a nudist / naturalist beach, which was the closest beach to us, which was an experience…and then we sat on the beach for one hour trying to think about how we could get these two men to pick us up. My fiancé (a woman) and I had to sit there in the interim at a naturalist / nudist beach uncomfortably. Finally, after an hour passed, we started to wave to the two men to come get us from the beach and take us back. But, they stopped in the same place about 100 yards / 91 meters out, so we had another panic attack, because we knew we had to swim back to them to get back on the boat for them to take us back to shore. We agreed that we would swim back to the beach if at any point we felt we might drown. By the grace of god and some friendly kayakers who were nearby supporting us (who noticed what we were doing), we made it back to the boat and were taken back to the meetup spot and on land without any apologies. We left feeling lucky to have survived this experience as one of the leading causes of drowning deaths is snorkeling without professionals and life vests / preservers on. We are still shaken by the experience, but are grateful to still be alive.

Great way to see the caves. Really good guides, friendly and fun boat trip. A fun boat for 7 of us and they let us have a swim in the sea at the end!

They were so easy to communicate with and the tour was fantastic! Bad weather forced an initial cancellation, but Arctic Seagull worked diligently to re-book.
