This experience is a cooking workshop / shared meal where you'll learn how to use (in several ways) one of most traditonal and apreciated products of this region: Le Canard Gras de Sud-Ouest (Southwest Fatty Duck) . This amazing bird it's quite special: by over feeding it with corn, the farmers exploit t's natural ability to store massive amounts of fat and to over grow it's own liver for the migration flight (This super-liver is the famous Foie Gras!).
This fatty duck has one of the best pieces of meat you will ever taste: le Magret (breast). As the rest of this hero of an animal, it's breast comes with an oversized lair of fat wich makes it amazingly tender and tasty. (Duck fat has almost no cholesterol, so don't worry!)
We'll meet in 'Parc de Mussonville' tramway stop (25 mins from downtown Bordeaux) and we'll go to my flat where the cooking, eating and drinking will take place. I'll teach you how, and we'll cook together a full meal using this amazing product as a base. Starting from the full animal, we'll work our way through to the table.
All accompanied by some excellent wines from nearby, good conversation and, hopefully, lots of laughter too!
