Tour the city’s historical center with a guide, stopping at Piazza del Campo, where the Palio is held twice a year, and Piazza del Duomo, home of the Siena Cathedral. Then, enjoy free time to explore on your own. Next, head to a local winery, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch. The tour then heads to San Gimignano, a UNESCO-listed site with medieval streetscapes and towers. Walk along the town’s narrow streets and visit local shops. The final stop is Pisa to visit the Baptistery, Cathedral, and, of course, the Leaning Tower. Take advantage of some free time here to snap photos of the iconic attractions before you head back for drop-off in Florence.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JMK83830 contributionsBad experience with @mytours.it or My Tour in Italy. The drive from Florence to the vineyard was (should have been) 30-40 minutes. Instead, they took us 20-25 minutes past the vineyard to get other customers. An extra 45 minutes. Same thing happened on the return trip. We missed the sunset and the tour was rushed. On the way home, we arrived about 30 minutes late due to the the roundabout travel route and the driver shook us down for an extra $100 from the entire bus to take us to center of Florence, near El Duomo, instead of an outside the city train depot (at around 1230 am on a Sunday night). They didn't acknowledge they were short a driver (the driver said they were) and they made no effort to make amends. We realize sh*t happens, but these guys didn't admit it, acknowledge it or apologize it. I would say - stay away from the Tour Operator.Written 10 December 2024
- Mobile492919174980 contributionsWonderful place to spend a dayDo not miss this place. It and the Bardini gardens nearby are wonderful. Pitti has a huge art collection, a large and interesting display of costumes through the ages, and some bedrooms on display. If you are lucky you might get on a guided kitchen tour!Written 5 December 2024
- 90miriams0 contributionsGloria was amazing!Gloria was just so lovely great!!!! She walked us through not only the cathedral but also Florence history so well, she explained such an historic dense city so easily that only makes you want to come back. Offered tips on key places to visits, we did and we cannot thank her enough for her recommendations and for the Florence knowledge shared. Big fans of Gloria!!!Written 2 December 2024
- 735MichaelK0 contributionsAnn unmissable day out, stunning rooms and artThe Pitti Palace was commissioned in 1440 by the banker Luca Pitti in an attempt to outdo the Medici family; but his luck changed and the family had to sell it to them in 1549. They initiated major expansion works, lavishly decorating the rooms and creating what are now the Bobboli Gardens. With the death of the last Medici Grand Duke in 1737, the Habsburg-Lorraines took over and lived in the palace until 1860. King Vittorio Emmanuel I briefly lived here from 1865-71. The Palatine Gallery was opened to the public in 1874 and the palace was donated to the state in 1919. To my mind, the building has a functional, depressing outward façade, like a prison, deliberately hiding views of the gardens behind. But the extensive interiors are a real treasure-house. The visit is equivalent to 6 separate attractions, and in many ways, more absorbing than the Uffizi. The Palatine Gallery is housed in a luxurious suite of rooms, filled with artworks, largely by Tuscan or wider Italian painters; Tintoretto, Raphael, Murillo, Gentileschi, Lippi, Titian, Caravaggio and more. The fun is finding them tucked away among the others, and guessing what the subject is. These rooms are enjoyable for the decoration alone. For me, the Ark Room was the most impressive, with its simulation of a large tent and action going on around you – fresco, trompe a l’oeil and marbling combined. The Royal Apartments were unfortunately closed, but there’s still the Museum of Fashion and Costume, the Modern Art Collection, and the State Rooms. In the latter, trompe a l’oeil is taken to the limit in some stunning rooms. The Russian icons did not work for me, but some of the items in the Treasury were mind-boggling, especially the ivory carvings (yes, I know tastes change over the centuries). Café not the cheapest and service not great. Boboli Gardens are an extra fee.Written 22 November 2024

The tour completely left out Montalcino and the tour guide acted like he didn’t know we were supposed to go there. We left from Siena and went to a small winery in Lornano, in Chianti, the opposite direction of the 3 towns we were supposed to visit. Very disappointing tour.Written 9 October 2024

It had the best gelato we had ever tasted!! I had Pistachio and Nutella flavors! Yum Yum!!! My husband had Makaco Almonds Carmel & White Chocolate!! - Mermaidmelissa0 contributionsNot for me i am afraidHuge group tours are not my thing, the 2 vineyards we visited were very different the firat felt like a sales tour, the second was fun and they made a real effort to include everyone. Then a random trip to a castle when the weather was awful, seemed to be an exercise tonget us all to spend money in the small bar there. Overall it was ok but not my thingWritten 24 September 2024
- eschein20180 contributionsThe best Chef in the tuscany area. This class was great. Simone the chef was outstanding. Everyone had a opportunity to be part of the cooking. Along with Simone showing us how to prepare the menu but he was also very entertaining as well. The one thing that was very frustrating about this tour is that we were given wrong directions from Viator and we arrived about two hours late. There was another couple that bought the same tour from Viator and ran into the issues as we did. Simone just came right over to us worked with us and get us up to speed with the other attendees. Thanks to Simone for making this class so much fun and waiting for us the to hours we were lost.Written 23 September 2024
- christinawP8923FN0 contributionsTour for first-timersI’ve had the opportunity to do another large scale bus tour through the Chianti wine region so it was hard to not compare to this one. I felt the wineries we visited were best suited for those who have no wine experience. I understand the large scale tours have partnerships with wineries who will take large groups, but I was hoping one of the stops would be more authentic and offer views of the vineyard but both wineries were more of tourist stop. For those who know a bit about wine, spending a bit more money would be worth your time to ensure you get to visit more classic takes on Chianti wineries. Coming from Canada, the wineries felt like the ones at home which offer great experiences for first-timers but not best recommended for those with previous interest. The tour was rushed at each stop which became a joke between all tour goers but does affect the experience. To also note, pay attention to the pick up point - it is 25 minutes from the main station which led to a very squished train ride home. I luckily was English speaking but this tour is also offered in Spanish and both wineries the host did not know Spanish so I felt bad for the attendees who were expecting a Spanish tour. Overall, good tour for those who have never done a wine tour before but I would not recommend for someone with wine experience.Written 20 September 2024

This tour is a must if you have a few days to spare in Florence. For a very reasonable price, we got to see three different places and got to enjoy a sumptuous lunch (local salami, cheese and pasta) with great wine. Enrica and Stephanie are amazing. They were very patient and kind to us. They went about and beyond their duty to ensure that no one got left behind each stop. Enrica, being a local of Florence shared a lot of fun facts and trivia and Stephanie is a big ball of positive energy. If you ask her nicely, she will sing you a beautiful song in English, Spanish and even in Portuguese. Thank you ladies!! We hope to see you again soon xx We leave Florence with a heavy heart thinking of the wonderful people we met in this tour.

One of my bucket list item was to visit the birth place of Galileo and see the leaning tower of Pisa. The tour was so well organized with multiple tour guides taking care of multi lingual groups of travelers with professionalism and masterful talent. The guides were all highly knowledgeable and gave me all the nitty gritty information, historical background and timelines of various landmarks. The San Gimignano and Siena trips were the cherries on the top .. I highly recommend this tour to anyone. The wine tasting and lunch at the winery cantina was a nice touch.

We had the most fantastic time on this tour. Paola was so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about each place and was the perfect tour guide. We were given an ideal amount of free time in each place, so we were free to explore at our own leisure which I felt was very important. Paola gave an overview of the history of each place en route to everyone on the coach, which was always very interesting and engaging. The wine tasting and lunch (of bread, meats and cheeses etc) was superb. Pasta was also served so do not worry about not being full up! This really was the highlight of our trip, so if you’re only in Italy for a short break, I can’t recommend this tour enough.

My mom has a PhD in Ancient History, so I usually don't think I need a tour guide. I generally find tours boring and over-rated. But when my mom and I found out we could visit three Tuscan towns in one day with a lunch and wine tasting included, we couldn't pass it up. There is no way to see the incredible hills of Tuscany without driving on these winding roads, and the bus takes you everywhere. It was a beautiful day and in the middle of two weeks of planning our transportation and missing trains, etc., it was such a relaxing day to just sit and let someone else drive us everywhere. What an efficient way to spend 12 hours in Italy! Our guide was Lorenzo and we LOVED him!!! He was amazing! I can't recommend this trip enough.

This tour was all I’d hoped for and more! Not only were the sights we saw spectacular but we also had the most amazing tour guide to answer all our questions and to make our day perfect. Paola went above and beyond for our group and she mad personal connections with us by answering all the questions we had about the places we visited. I would highly recommend doing any tour Paola takes as she gives you heaps of background information into the sights you are going to see which makes the experience even more memorable and enjoyable. Was an amazing tour I will never forget. Thank you Paola.

The only reason for choosing 4 and not 5 was purely down to the booking website. It refreshed (although internet wasn’t great) and was not clear at any point that I’d made a booking as I received no confirmation email. Thankfully I screenshot the payment page as confirmation, but for the cost, I’d hoped to get something else.
Anyway, the rest of the trip was fantastic. Paula greeted us all at the meeting point (a 15 min tram ride to the coach station from our hotel in the centre) and the whole team were very friendly and welcoming. Phillippo drove us to Pisa where we had plenty of time to explore and see the sights. We then went on to San Gimignano (about an hour or so on the coach), another 20 mins to Chianti for wine tasting and our lunch. The food was served about 3pm so I’d suggest eating a big breakfast at the coach station or ensure you bring a snack! The wine tasting was great though, really informative and delicious! We then went to Siena for a walking tour, where Rosa guided us round. She was amazing; so enthusiastic and it was very interesting to learn the history of the beautiful town. We then got the coach back and arrived about 7:30pm at the coach station.
I recorded 16,000 steps so if a lot of walking isn’t what you want, this isn’t the right tour. If however you wish to see beautiful Tuscany in all its finery, I would highly recommend.
Paula was an amazing host, with fantastic knowledge that was great to learn about. Her and the team (Lucy and Stephanie too) were brilliant and really made it a great day. Thank you!

It was a great tour. Long but very good. We started in Florence. Saw the Leaning tower of Pisa. Spend time in the Miracle Square. Then we headed to Siena. Beautiful town. And the center was awesome. Then off to San Gimignano, we got there around 5:30pm. Being winter it was already dark. None the less, beautifully maintained medieval town.
Our lunch was in Siena. I think it could have been better. We started with an antipasto plate of salami, cheese and prosciutto. Next we had something like rigatoni in red sauce. The restaurant was so jammed that it did not feel comfortable.
Our tour guide, Paola was amazing! She knew everything, very helpful.

We selected this tour because it promised to be in French. Actually it was in English, French and Portuguese. The only commentaries by the "guide" were done in the bus, in English and then translated accurately in French and a short terrible version then given in Portuguese. No French translation was given during the visit and lunch at the Chianti winery.
Not enough time was allowed at each stop to properly visit the sites and no guided visit was provided. You were left on your own with little or no guidance. In Sienna particularly, we had to find our way to the cathedral with no help whatsoever from the guide.
In Sienna particularly, the bus left us one kilometer away from the center of the city. The guide walked quite fast in a difficult terrain making it difficult for older people to follow. Several times, we lost sight of the guide up front and had to guess where to go. Overall, a terrible experience

Dear Customer,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and letting us know what happened. We are sorry to know that you didn't have the expected experience with our team. This is a bilingual tour and customers from all over the world take part on it. It is also written on the tour description that the tour take place in different languages. The winery part and the Siena part of the tour are only explained in English language by the guide. We are sorry that you did not like our guide, but they're always been at our customers' disposal and assisted you in every part of the tour. As per the bus, the driver needed to park it a little bit far from the meeting point as it is not allowed to ride the bus in some roads in that zone. This is a tour that includes a lot of walking, and we have also putted a warning at the tour description on our site for this detail. Sorry to know that you had a terrible experience, our staff did their best to give you the best experience, and they were at your disposal all the time. For any further concerns or issues about the tour, please feel free to contact us at our email address customercare@mytour.it
Best regards,

Hi, I am interested in this tour, though I have request. I want to see the Duomo di Pisa cathedral and climb the Pisa tower. However, these are not included in the tour cost. I would like to buy these tickets in advance so that I do not lose time unnecessarily standing in line. Since you have organized this tour for years, can you give me a time window that I will use to select my time to visit these attractions? As you know these tickets are non-refundable and cannot be used for time other than they are selected.
Also, can this tour be reversed: Pisa first, then San Gimignano and Siena for the last?

we will be on a cruise and apparently we will be in port at 7 am. Will that give us time enough to get off the ship and meet for the tour which starts at 7:45?
Will the tour leader wait for people if they can't get off the ship to the meeting place in time?

Hi all !
Did you feel that this tour was rushed at all ? How much time is in each place ?
Also, is lunch included with all your options ? And what’s the average time for return back to Florence ?

Hi @theresaelaiine,
Well of course it was rushed, but the time spent in each place was more than ok. If I had the chance to visit each place on my own I would definitely stay longer, especially in Siena. The wine tasting and the meal were really basic and nothing special but worth the overall experience. We were back in Florence at around 19:00.
I hope you find my info useful. You are going to remember this trip for a really long time. Enjoy.

You should request that ahead of time to be certain.

I see a couple of reviews saying the tour gets to Pisa at night so it's hard to get pictures. We are visiting in the beginning of January. Does the tour do Pisa in the beginning during that time of year or still do it at the end of the tour?

We visited Feb and the first thing in the morning we visited was the Pisa. It was sunny and bright.

Hi,
Please confirm what time you arrive back. We are wanting to book, but need to know what time we will be back in the afternoon as we are coming by ship.

Hi Tammy,
We arrived back between 7.30-8.00pm, but I found the ItalyXP website really helpful as you can chat directly with staff and ask questions, or there is the option to email also. If you need to be sure - give them a message. It was well worth the time spent!
Enjoy your travels :)
