About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- marciam3550 contributionsDon't book these inferior Vacations To Go Shore Excursions! This 3-hour Aruba Vacations To Go excursion was so disappointing. I was particularly interested in the Casibari rock formations. However 1) he did not point out the dragon's mouth at the Casibari rock formation. I had read about it, and was surprised that he did not mention it. I walked around looking for it, and eventually had to surreptitiously eavesdrop on another tour guide. 2) There were at least two trails to get to the top of the Casibari rocks and I had no idea which was the easier one for me to take. 3) I heard another guide mention a tunnel but Johnnie was in the van, and I was not inclined to go return to the van, ask him, and then return to the rocks. 4) He mention how the Arawaks used to "listen" to the rocks to predict bad weather. I keep wondering what other tidbits of information did he NOT share about the rocks! I was hoping for a knowledgeable guide. 5) At the Casibari rocks, he did not tell us how much time we had there. I was the last one to board the van at the Aloe Factory earlier so I wanted to make sure that I didn’t make the same mistake again. It didn’t occur to me that we had no time frame until after I had been inside the rocks for a while. I had no idea how long it would take to go up to the top, so I just went back to the van quickly. Too much missing information! Hard-to-understand information! Johnnie stayed in the van at the Gold Ruins too, so I had no idea which was the easier path to take to get an overview of how the gold was processed. He mentioned that the Dutch stole 3 million pounds of gold. Most people have no idea what that means. It’s equivalent to 10 bedrooms of gold! Misinformation! Johnnie said that there are no birds in St. Kitts, because mongoose were imported and they ate all the birds. This is incorrect! Mongoose do prey on the eggs and hatchings of ground-nesting birds and sea turtles but in 2012, there were 238 bird species in St Kitts. I value a guide who is knowledgeable and considerate. That is NOT the experience that I was hoping to have! I would not recommend Johnnie!Written 2 January 2025

- A2138YZdonnaf0 contributionsFantastic afternoon, beware of the walk to the glacierThis trip was amazing but beware if you struggle walking you won't make it to the glscier. My mum and I did this as an excursion from a P&O cruise of the Norwegian fjords. My mum is disabled and has a mobility walker and can't walk very well. We knew she wouldn't make it to the glscier but wanted to go on the troll cart. The coach from the ship to the troll carts was stunning. Once we arrived, we were disappointed that there is no small buggy to take disabled passengers to the troll carts. Our coach parked the furthest away which meant my mum had to walk 200m. The ride on the carts was great and we didn't get wet from the waterfall. They provide plastic sheeting to cover your legs. I walked to the glacier, around 1k. The driver kindly took my mum back down the mountain where she had a coffee. You only get 45 minutes to walk to the glacier and back. As part of our booking you get FREE cake, tea or coffee before you board the coach. Make sure you go into the correct room in the cafe as we didn't realise and paid for coffee and cake. I would highly recommend this excursion as the glacier is stunningWritten 18 September 2024
- Trip8194050 contributionsJulia, you’re a star!I generally do not write reviews but, our guide Julia was an amazing amazing person, who might I mention loved the weather (mentioned multiple times due to the view of the far away Alpes) as much as I did on that particular day. Apart from this, it was pretty much everything that we expected from the description. Highly recommend if you have a limited time frame on port! 🙂Written 16 September 2024
- 01060 contributions$89 booked direct with the company. Same tour through ship’s shore excursions $195After disembarking in the beautiful small town of Eidfjord, our bus followed the Eio river to the “Hardangervidda Nature Centre” to learn about Norwegian nature, the climate and environment. The highlight was a panoramic movie that took us on a visual journey along the fjord, mountains and waterfalls. We continued towards the Måbødal valley, surrounded by spectacular mountains driving through tunnels and over authentic stone bridges arriving at Hardangervidda, Europe’s biggest mountain plateau. We then continued to the Vøringsfossen waterfall. The waterfall has a free fall of 145 meters and a total height of 182 meters making it one of the highest waterfalls in Europe.Written 12 September 2024
- 708yolandal0 contributionsWorthwhile even when it rainsVery nice excursion from Eidfjord via interesting museum to the waterfalls. Fortunately we did have some views although it was rainy weather. Even then it was beautiful. Good guide and driver. Only thing we can think of is maybe some more time at the waterfall as there are many paths to take. Thanks!Written 25 August 2024
- Venture466817962410 contributionsA great tour company and a great Norway experience!Norway Excursions was recommended to me by another cruiser on the Ultimate World Cruise and I was able to book several small group tours with them in multiple port stops in Norway. The guides and drivers were fantastic and very knowledgeable. The pace of the tours was very good - we had enough time to get all the photos we wanted and were able to visit a wide variety of places on each of the tours. I would definitely book with them again if we return to Norway in the future.Written 24 August 2024
- I7646BJlauries0 contributionsShore Excursion from Olden to Geiranger FjordTruly gorgeous scenery, comfortable bus for traveling, plus an enthusiastic and informative guide, Julia. We also had one of the best tour lunches we have ever had at Hotel Union, absolutely delicious. A well organized and well executed shore excursion. Highly recommend.Written 24 August 2024
- SproutTrout0 contributionsFollow the scenic road to Troll's LadderThis was our second day with our excellent guide, Denise, with Norway Excursions. We saw spectacular scenery. The highlight of the drive was going to be Trollstigen (Troll's Ladder), but the road was closed because of landslides. We did get a good view at the top of the mountain from a viewing platform of the switchbacks. Cross your fingers that it will be back open when you visit so you can experience all those switchbacks. In Stordal, we peeked in the window of the Rose Church. The interior was decorated in 1799 by travelling craftsmen. You can purchase a ticket at the nearby house, or explore the graveyard for free. Next to it was an old long house from the 1800s. The length, low ceilings, and small windows were all designed to maximize heat retention in the winter. Just down the road was our lunch spot serving some traditional Norwegian food. It was a beautiful and relaxing day.Written 24 August 2024
- SproutTrout0 contributionsOlden, Gateway to Extreme BeautyOlden Private the Majestic Geirangerfjord Experience - Norway is such a beautiful country. We saw a lot of it from tours out of the ports of Olden and Alesund. We were guided by the best guide we have had on the entire trip, a young woman named Denise. From Olden, we went to Lake Oppstryn, viewed the waterfall Øvstefossen; and took photos from Mount Dalsnibba's Skywalk, Flydalsjuvet, and Eagle Road. We saw beautiful scenery along Gamle Strynefjellsvegen (County Road 258), a 27-kilometre (17 mi) long road that runs through the Videdalen valley linking the Nordfjord region and Eastern Norway. It is designated a National Tourist Route. We encountered a lot of switchbacks as we drove higher in the mountains. Our guide told us the hairpin curves have names. For example Ørnesvingin means "The eagle swing" and Årsethaugsvingen means"Years pile swing." We also had a tasty lunch at the classy Hotel Union in Geiranger.Written 24 August 2024
- davidalejandrop9210 contributionsGood tour, a bit rushedThe tour was good, comfortable coach and very good and nice guide (Sylvia). My one complaint is that the time at Mount Dalsnibba was super short, by the time we used the toilet and cafeteria we had to leave! More time should be made for the stop.Written 23 August 2024
- 465gertjanr0 contributionsGreat experience, worthwhile to do.It was an amazing walk, and well worth it; the climb was on parts difficult, but definitely worthwhile. (One of us has 2 artificial knees, and trained a good bit on a treadmill before the trip. We think this did help. But if a hand was needed, there was always someone with a helping hand.)Written 23 August 2024

The trip was amazing - the Norwegian landscape is a dream. We were really lucky with the weather and we had a fantastic guide (Peter) who was able to do the tour in his two native languages- German and English. Being of Norwegian descent he also knew many details about Norway (traditions/ religion etc) and this region in particular and was able to explain it to both the American and German passengers. We were also really lucky to have Otta as our driver — it was quite challenging to make our way up to Dalsnibba because of the traffic coming the opposite way (and two buses aren’t able to access the curves).
Three of us had to be back at our ship and Peter made sure he always kept on eye on the time. Even though it took us quite a while to reach the first viewpoint we still were able to see the seven sisters too.
I can highly recommend this wonderful tour, also if you are here with a cruise ship — it is a lot cheaper, you see more (the cruise excursion didn’t get to see the seven sisters!) and the crew makes sure you are back at the ship. It was the first time I had decided to try an excursion with an external company but after this experience I would do it again.
Thanks again Otta and Peter!

The area is beautiful, and our tour guide was excellent. She gave us very interesting information on the area and had a sense of humor that kept us laughing. The bus driver was excellent also. He helped our mother in law on and off the bus. Very helpful.
We booked this excursion because the excursion that was offered on our cruise ship was booked up and so glad we did. It was offered at the same time the excursion on the cruise ship was so we were not afraid of missing our boat, and the cost is one-half of what it would have cost us booking through the cruise line.

The views were amazing as were Denise and our driver Emil. The trip in a huge bus is along narrow mountain roads with lots of switchbacks and I never felt scared and felt totally safe with our bus driver Emil. Denise was very knowledgeable about the area, her country, plus loads of personality. You could tell she loved her job!
The price was so much more affordable than the excursions our cruise ship offered. They were on time to start the tour and delivered us back when they said they would. They have formulated plans in case of a mechanical breakdown so don't worry you will miss your ship by not taking the ships excursion. They guarantee it.
I highly recommend even if it is warm at the port that you still take a jacket because it's cold with the wind on the top of the mountain. Norway Excursions mentions this in their brochure, but evidently some people on our bus didn't follow their advice. LOL
The only thing I wish Norway Excursions would do is place a small map where the Joker Market is located to start the tour when they send your ticket. It's tiny and easy to miss. We assumed it was close to the pier where our ship was docked around those buildings but it's a bit of a walk and not a level walk. Start early if you are a slow walker. We are glad we did.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Norway. A very organized company with very friendly staff.

Geiranger is absolutely stunning as is getting up to the mountains and up eagle road. Denise was an excellent tour guide and you could tell how much she appreciates the nature, beauty, and history of the area sharing the perfect balance of information while allowing you to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
As a bonus she was able to save us from missing Trollstiggen in our next port as the cruise cancelled it but she let us know it opened the day before and had openings on that tour which deserves it's own review.

Our cruise ship was unable to get us ashore at Geiranger Port due to issues with the gangway. We were booked on the Dalsnibba and Eagle Road Panorama Tour with Norway Excursions and they kept pushing the tour start time back for us but in the end it wasn’t to be. It was not their fault and they would have incurred coach hire and tour guide costs through no fault of their own but they refunded my card in full within 2 days. How honorable was that meaning we only had the disappointment of not getting on the tour and not the loss of money on top. We did get on our second tour booked with Norway Excursions at Olden the following day and that was a 5 star experience see my separate review for this.

Our group of 14 booked a private tour through Norway Excursions for our cruise port stop in Geiranger. Our driver and guide were both excellent. Unfortunately we didn't have the clearest weather that day but what we were able to see was absolutely amazing! We requested to be dropped off by near Westeras Farms which they accommodated so we could hike up to Storseterfossen Waterfall before heading back to the ship. Would definitely recommend Norway Excursions!

Our tour was on May 8, 2023, it was to early for the road to Dalsnibba to open, but instead the tour stopped at Lake Eidsvatnet. It was so beautiful and we really enjoyed the whole tour. Professional, on time and prompt with inquiry, the guide and driver were fantastic and price is very reasonable.

This was a big disappointment when we only got the second half as the first half was closed for snow on the road to MT Dalsibbda. Only Eagle road and no substitution of other sights as promised in reservation. No mount Dalsibbda We got shortened tour of 2-hours with substtutionfor cutting half the tour for weather. no refund for half a tour we paid for a 3 5 hour tour no apology
The views from the bus were good . However the guide promised us to see the Seven Sisters waterfalls and Proposal waterfall but we did not WE stopped to see the ships at anchor in the fjord. Good views. great wilderness.
So many buses went out the Eagle Road our day that a traffic jam on the return journey delayed our ship's departure by over an hour. This town's businesses did not prepare for closure in late May of half of their tourist sites by snow. Two ships put thousands of visitors out in buses in half of the roads and a traffic jam in hairpin turns blocked return of buses to the ships. Congestion in the wilderness hair pin turns? Somewhat bizarre day. Not a good tour.

This tour was excellent and hit all the key spots for views and taking those perfect photos.
It’s really easy to book and utilize this tour operator if you are on a cruise. We saved a significant amount and it actually made it easier to make the short walk to the grocery store parking lot vs going through the ship’s gauntlet of tickets, stickers and “follow the leader”.
Our bus was very modern and must have had more horsepower than an F1 car to move us up and down the mountains as effortlessly as it did. The experienced driver we had possessed amazing skills which you will find out is the MOST important part of this tour. Our tour guide was a local girl from Alesund who really knew the area and also had some great tips for our visit to her home town.
Highly recommend this tour operator!

Awesome excursion, pre booked with Norway excursions, no availability on the cruise ship, really glad we did, competitive pricing, and great service.
From the Car park to the right of the dock, fantastic guide and driver, took us up Eagle Road for photos then up Dalsnibba, we were so lucky it was a clear day and sunny, both places had awesome views. Long winding hairpin road up to Dalsnibba but breathtaking when you reached it, literally on top of the mountains. Cant fault the tour company, so lucky it was sunny.

If we are not arriving on a cruise ship, can I put N/A for all fields under " Tour specifics"?

In regards to the N/A under "tour specifics" I can not see that field question. The bus follows the cruise ship schedule for setting up times. Since you are not on a cruise you will have to pick a specific time, you should be able to put N/A and it will go through, just be prepared for the time to shift if something happens to the cruise schedule. (which I highly doubt will at this point of the season) You will always get an email with updates if they make any changes. The bus is a short walk from the dock downtown by the grocery store. They send a guide to the dock to help escort passengers and do a quick head count. You should be fine as long as you check in with the bus a good 10 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Hi we are interested in purchasing this tour. We are a party of 15 consists of 8 adults and 6 children. We will be on board the MSC MERAVIGLIA.
How much would it cost us in total.
Do we get picked up near the terminal.
And if you the 10am and English speaking tour leader.
Thanks in advance

Dorianne,
Those are questions you might ask the vendor. My wife and I took this tour last September and truly enjoyed it. I can tell you if you make your reservation in advance they should be able to accommodate your party because it’s a full size bus with lots of room but out bus was fairly full. I’ll tell you it’s a small port and it’s maybe a ten minute walk from the dock to where the bus is parked. FYI... only one or two ships can dock at one time and if it’s a busy day you maybe one of the ships that has to tender in so keep that in mind and give yourself enough time. As far as price the website or vendor should be able to answer that question. It’s a beautiful location so have fun. My wife and I will be back there again on another cruise in September and can’t wait. hope this helps...

Is your pick up and drop off point at the cruise ship terminal? We are on the Celebrity Reflection June 1, 2020 from 7-4. Interested in the 9:00 (4 people)
Thank you.

Make sure you book this excursion early. Geiranger is a very small port and during their peak season you could have multiple ships in port. Way too many ships for such a small port. Have fun it’s a beautiful place.

We arrived in Geiranger by cruise ship. Didn't see a beach anywhere. You could drive there, but over the mountains (probably not in the Winter).
