Fantastic 3 day paddle in Corner Inlet to Wilson’s Prom. On of the nicest places in Victoria.
Fantastic three day tour through the islands of corner inlet and spectacular headlands and beaches at the top end of Wilson’s Prom. Some exciting paddling on day one with a big easterly wind. Learnt a lot about wind and tides doing their thing. Nice paddle on day 2 across to the Prom as the weather improved culminating in a lovely swim after we set up camp behind the beach. Our little group of 6 had it all to ourselves. Pleasant paddle back to Welshpool on day three to finish off. Rohan was a great guide looking after us and explaining what was happening in the environment around us and the paddling choices he was making.

    Accessible ocean adventure
The day program off cape woolamai Phillip island was wonderful. Bought as a gift for partner— he had a great day. Leaders were kind and explained clearly and calmly skills and emergency skills. Husbands arthritis was well adapted to and activity was accessible and challenging. Organisation and experience was excellent as was planning and supply of all equipment. Can’t wait to have a go myself!

Super chill paddle down the Yarra
I really appreciated the bits of history and local knowledge that our guide mentioned as we paddled. What a cool way to see a different view of Melbourne. And the fire show at the end was fun. Highly recommend the tour. We plan to do either the Phillip Island or Dolphin Santuary tour with this group.

    3 hour tuition session
Did 3 hour tuition with Rohan. A very professional, slick and most importantly fun and friendly 3 hours! Packed a lot in and I came away tired but entirely satisfied with the experience. Would highly recommend East Coast kayaks to anyone regardless of their kayak experience.

    Fantastic experience if visiting Melbourne
We visited Melbourne from the UK to see family and they recommended we did the Twilight Kayak tour. We were a bit unsure as we are both in our late 60's, but decided to go for it ... and so glad we did. The paddling was very relaxed, the tour guides helpful and informative, and of course the views of Melbourne were amazing! Highly recommended, even for old folks!

    Brilliant lesson by brilliant teacher.
My husband and I undertook a 3 hour kayak course as a couple with Rohan of East Coast Kayak using our tandem Hobie Oasis. Rohan’s knowledge of charts, tides and interpreting information you need from weather apps is excellent. We now have so much to learn and put into practice. We especially appreciated the way Rohan encouraged us to use our Mirage drives (pedals) BUT showed us when paddles come into their own, e.g. when executing a 360 in swell and choppy conditions. Rohan pushed us just outside our comfort zone, and then a bit more, but we knew we were in safe hands. Rohan has been key to developing our paddling technique, something we can continue to work on. Our respect for the sport grew enormously, especially when attempting to execute self rescue in deep water. We now have fitness goals to work on in water aerobics. We will be fitting an Hobie Sidekick AMA kit for added stability for our already very stable kayak. It’s all about knowing your limitations: skill up and take safety precautions. We bought a Personal Locator Beacon and Fox 40 whistle from East Coast Kayaking, and learned more about staying warm on the water. Can’t wait to get back out the water to use our new skills. We couldn’t recommend Rohan more highly to beginners and those wanting to upskill. A+++++

Fun and engaging course to build sea kayaking skills and confidence.
Did the Learn to Sea Kayak Course, lots of fun and can't wait to put all the things I learnt into practice on future trips. Danny, who ran the course, was very knowledgeable and engaging and gave lots of reassurance and attention to participants. Lots of time out on the water practicing new strokes, rescue techniques and kayaking in challenging conditions for a beginner but added to learning experience. Would recommend the course to others.

    Awesome experience
Great experience with knowledgeable teacher (Danny) and lots of opportunities to practice paddling skills, rescues and get an understanding of maps, tides, winds and trip planning. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get out there and enjoy our beautiful coast, lakes and the bay.

Very satisfied with my experience, great value for money.
Spent 3 hours with Rohan learning how to operate a kayak. From the beginning I thought his presentation was very professional and focussed on what I wanted to get from the experience. After a very informative discussion on weather, safety and comfort, we adjourned to the water. We went through various exercises of paddling and manoeuvring the kayak before travelling across the water. I have never been in a kayak before but at no time did I feel at risk on the water with Rohan giving me encouragement at all times. Overall I feel that I gained tremendous knowledge about kayaking (mind you I am still a rank amateur) and feel confident to pursue my knowledge further. I would heartily recommend Eastcoast Kayaks as a place to learn about this growing sport. Graeme Rojo

We booked the Yarra River Kayak Hire (Double Kayak / 2 People) for $95.

The meeting location is in Hawthorn, where you are taken to the Yarra River and prepped for the paddling. It takes approximately 3 hours, so prepare yourself.

Make sure you wear clothes you are okay with them getting wet. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle. The hire includes one small dry bag for your stuff.

It's an enjoyable experience, and you will get to paddle upstream and downstream. There will be moments where you will just listen to the wind & birds. So surreal!

Such a fantastic and unique experience. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a different view of the Yarra and Melbourne city. We were a group of 6 people (3 x double canoes) - very easy going even with no previous canoeing experience, and the canoes are extremely stable. Thanks Dave and team.
