Overview

Experience New Zealand's South Island from the air on a 3-hour sky diving tour from Wanaka. The plane ride to jump altitude offers views of the Southern Alps, Mt. Cook, Mt. Aspiring, the Clutha River, and several lakes. Then, securely strapped to your guide, you'll jump from 12,000 feet (3,658 meters), and experience both the thrill of the free fall and the peace of drifting down to earth when the parachute opens. Your tour includes guide, air tour, and hotel pickup and drop-off from central Wanaka.

What to Expect

Your adventure begins when you are picked up from your choice of accommodation providers in Wanaka. and driven to Wanaka Airport.  All equipment is provided, so just bring a big smile, as well as warm and comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Once you are at the drop zone you will be greeted by our friendly staff that will help to get you checked in, geared up and ready to meet your tandem master.

When you have met your new favorite hero you will head off to the plane and take a 20-minute scenic flight to altitude. As you fly over the Southern Alps your instructor will point out Mt. Cook, Mt. Aspiring, the Southern Alps, up to 6 lakes and the Clutha River. At altitude the door of the plane will open and this is where the fun begins.

"Freefall feels like flying," so make sure you keep your eyes open, and capture your thrilling moments whilst reaching speeds of up to 125 miles per hour (200 kilometres per hour). After up to 60-seconds your parachute will open and you will get the chance to take in the views as you gently fly back down to the landing area.

Once on the ground, celebrate your achievement while you await your edited video and photos.  When your adventure ends you will then be taken back to the your Wanaka accommodation.
