- G5005SJchristineh0 contributionsFantastic, unforgettable custom island tour!!Our private custom tour around the entire island of Viti Levu, Fiji with Rosie Holiday was simply fantastic! It was a homecoming trip for my mother-in-law, who was born in Fiji, but left at age 18. This was the first time bringing her children and grandchildren home to see her home village and Suva, where she went to high school. Rony, our amazing tour guide, was so friendly and knowledgeable! We learned so much about Fijian culture and history, and he made the trip so memorable by making sure that we stopped by all of the important places where my mother-in-law's spent time in her younger years and all of the famous tourist sites on the island. I would highly recommend Rosie Holiday, especially Rony, if you are looking for an unforgettable, amazing tour on Viti Levu, Fiji!Written 20 January 2025

I had VVIP Clients transit through Nadi (Fiji) International Airport to another destination and had a layover of 6 hours. These were VVIP’s which required the highest standard of service and professional chaperone including luxury high end vehicles that were also EV friendly, spacious, comfortable with safe, highly trained and skilled Drivers. Rosie Holiday came through with a last minute request and accommodated the transfer with ease and professionalism. - phillydiver0 contributionsSleeping Giant Zip Line and Waterfall hike.I booked with Rosie tours at First Landing Resort in Lautoka. Only guest going, so, I had a private driver! The drive along some unfinished roads was about 30 minutes. Friendly driver. The zip line reception area was organized. They checked my reservation, then, fitted me into a harness contraption . Joe took me to the beginning platform, where, he and Bill, explained what I was to do. There were 6 zip lines, to complete. The hardest part was walking up a steep path to #2 platform. ( it is part of a jungle, so, hot and humid) Next, I hiked with guide to the waterfall. I chose not to take a dip, so, after relaxing , we headed back to the main area. Lunch was included, and, I had preordered the sandwich. My other option was pizza, which they made on site; and, all looked delicious! I took a quick dip in the pools , then, rode the zip lines again!! I was exhausted. A good beginner zip line !Written 24 November 2024

We didn't want to do a full day activity so this itinerary was perfect. We stayed at the Marriott Momi Bay and this cruise departed south of us so the bus ride was only about 30 minutes (those coming from closer to Nadi would be over an 1 hour). This is the perfect itinerary to check off a "cultural" activity without spending an entire day to do it. It includes a sunset river cruise to an island, kava ceremony, lovo cooking (you see them unearthing the food which was mostly potatoes, cassava, and chicken wrapped in foil), dances, and capped off with a fire show. The highlight was approaching the island and having two fire dancers come out to greet us, followed by a welcome song on the beach as we landed.
The performers were great and friendly, but you can tell some of them were more into it than others. The food is buffet style and pretty decent, especially knowing that some of it came from the lovo (they had other food that wasn't part of the lovo). A few guests were brave enough to try the kava, but since I was a little sick I passed on it. The boat ride back was dark but there were bright lights on the boat so it wasn't too bad. It was actually pretty cool going back in the thick of night. Expect to be back to your hotel pretty late, especially if it's near Nadi. We were back around 1030pm in Momi Bay.
As an aside, the Marriott also had a fire show the night before that was pretty similar to the one on the island. Granted, there were more performers on the island but it lowered my excitement since I already saw something similar the night before. Overall, I'd still recommend this activity if you don't want to spend a full day but still want to experience Fijian culture.

I went on this tour on a family holiday in September and were treated to a really good show with a kava ceremony, fire walking and fire dancing.
We boarded a cruise out to the island, which was a nice, different way to look at the tropical rainforest around us. We headed out late afternoon and cruised back at night, which was fun as well (as other reviews have stated - good idea to pack something warm for the cooler cruise home).
When you arrive, I would recommend first staking claim to a table to sit at (there was plenty of room for everyone but, naturally, some spots are better to watch the show than others).
It was enjoyable to also be able to have a wander around the 'village' - there were some hammocks to relax in and nice to have a little explore along the beach and look at some handcrafts that were being sold.
The Lovo Dinner had plenty of delicious food in order to try some local cuisine.
The kava ceremony and fire show dancing was fantastic - there were plenty of talented performers on the island. I particularly liked the final show 'fire works' on the beach. Stunning!
It was a great night out.

We absolutely loved this especially the entertainment bit the food was yummy too. Everyone was lovely and the lead entertainer/mc for the evening was funny and also knew how to tell a story. We were so lucky to see the beautiful sunset after a few days of rain and the singing was amazing as were the dancers and of course you can’t go past the fire dancing!

When booking, we were told a few things that were not true. There was no welcome drink and we were told it was a 30-40min drive to the sunset cruise. We were given a pickup time of 330pm . We were collected at 345pm. We drove for about 45 minutes and then stopped for 20 minutes by the side of the highway. After 15 minutes we were told we were waiting for 1 person who missed the bus. We then pulled into where the boat was at approximately 530pm.
Next, we boarded a very basic boat. Sitting side by side length of ways with very minimal leg room. A 30min or so ride to the island. Sunset was beautiful.
The show and dinner were fairly well organised, we were given a run-down of how the night would go, seeing the hangi being cooked, hot stone walking, dinner, and show.
At the end of the evening, we made our way back to the boat. Once the boats arrived back, everyone made their dash for the coaches. There was some confusion over which coach was for which guests.
Once our coach was full, the driver confirmed the hotels. We were staying at the Palms but boarded at the marina. Neither stop was called, so I confirmed we needed to be returned to one or the other.
An hour later, we begin our stops in Denaru. There seemed to not be any order to this. I began to follow my google Maps as it was now after 11 pm and for my sanity needed to see where we were........ and the bus went straight past the road our hotel was on. Since the drop off's were so random, I waited a couple of minutes to see where he was heading and then spoke up. He seemed annoyed when I told him we were staying at the Palms and he had gone past..... after 5min of him seeming to be speaking to someone he then reversed back up thr rosd to the turn off. We finally got dropped off at 1120pm.... I felt sorry for the group still on the bus.
The long journey was not worth the show and dinner.

Our very first tour in Fiji booked in the afternoon on the day we arrived. The tour started with hotel pickup in a big tourist bus. The bus was clean and comfortable. It was an hour road trip from the resort in Denarau to the port where a small boat awaits us for a jungle cruise experience. Four of us, all fell asleep during the trip. Credits to the driver for the smooth and safe drive plus the comforts of the bus. We caught some cat nap having started our day at 3 am to catch our early flight from Sydney to Fiji. We were so excited to transfer to the boat that took us to the Island. It was a relaxing ride with amazing sights and a rainbow along the way. Upon reaching the island, we were greeted by locals who welcomed us with a lively song. The atmosphere was festive and the ever friendly Fijian smile and warm welcome was truly felt. The colours of the sunset added magic to the moment. The local host was very entertaining and clearly explained to us how the events will unfold throughout the night. It was like an immersion to the traditional Fijian culture. We were shown how the “lovo” dinner was prepared, the Kava ceremony, fire walking demonstration, fire and knife dances were entertaining, worth mentioning are the beautiful hula girls who danced so gracefully!. Singing around the bonfire was also a welcome treat. There was a shop selling Fijian arts and crafts and jewellery which you can customise to suit your taste and budget. I had earrings made based on my specifications, and I loved it. Buffet had a good selection and tasted good. Entertainment throughout the night was spectacular. The fire twirling in the ocean was notably my personal favourite. The evening cruise back to the original port was a breeze even when it was already dark, with all precautions taken into consideration by the crew to keep everyone safe. The drive back to the hotel was as good as on our way there. Overall experience was great. Would recommend this tour to those visiting Fiji.

We had a fun trip that met our expectations. The river cruise was an interesting change from our recent open sea trips. We had time on the island to grab drinks and stroll before the evening entertainment commenced. The shows were fun to watch, especially the fire throwing. We also liked how they cooked potatoes and cassava on the fire pit, followed by the hot coal walking, and then serving of dinner shortly thereafter. There was time to stroll around the beachfront and there were hammocks for relaxing. We enjoyed the food spread and there was a large feast so you won't leave hungry. Drinks cost extra, but the cost was very reasonable. The commute to the boat jetty does take a while from Nadi, but we were prepared for this. We would recommend this trip to others who are looking for a local evening experience.

This was such a fantastic evening. Our 15yo and 12yo enjoyed it as much as we did. We really liked that there was the freedom to walk around the beach and order our own drinks and the fire twirling and cultural dancing was so visually beautiful. 100% recommend for families, but just be aware that the evening does complete a bit late (back to our hotel around 11pm).

We actually did the full day tour which included a village visit, mud crab catching, snorkelling and then the night activities listed.
Could not recommend this tour more! The guides and people working on the island are amazing and super friendly.
The village you visit are very welcoming and so sweet and it was honestly 1 of the many highlights of our trip getting to dance and have fun with the village.
The performance and dinner in the night was also alot of fun and I highly recommend cheering and having fun with the performers as they up their cheekiness and energy with the crowd if you do (not that they aren't already vibrant and fun already) would highly recommend to all - young and older families, couples, honeymooners and etc!
Fantastic time!

This was a awesome tour complimented with a beautiful location, vibes, food, activates and people. There is a full day tour but I would only recommend the day tour for travellers that want to get a real life sight view of how a unique the living is of an actual island village. Beautiful people and fascinating history shared during the tour. Would recommend the day tour for ages 21+ as its more of a historic day tour. The night tour is where it it begins on a private island with nice accommodation and food. The performances is most definitely a must watch for ages 7+ due to fire hazards and being located on a island 40 minutes of a boat sail away from the main doc and another 45 minute drive back to accommodations. A good tour to experience with families for the night tour.

My husband and I did couple of village tour. We found this experience to be fun and entertaining. Loved watching how they unrevealed the earth oven (Lovo). Plenty to eat. Tried Cava here for the first time. Lots and lots of fire dances on a tiny little island. There were approximately 3 boats of visitors that was gathered to watch the show. There was a bar available to purchase drinks (pretty okay okay). Singatoka River can get flooded easily, so we thank the boat captains for driving us back to the jetty safely in a pitch black dark River. It was surely an experience.
The only complain would be the transfers organised took a while to get us to the destination.
