Exploring Newport is even more fun on this Newport food walking tour, which introduces you to top Newport bites and city sights. Eat where the locals do at restaurants that are tucked away from the city’s main arteries—you might try locally sourced meats, Irish baked goods, or craft beer. As you walk between destinations, your guide shares stories about the city’s architecture and history.
What to Expect
Join us as we walk through Newport's neighborhoods and visit some of the finest restaurants this area has to offer.  Along  the way you will hear stories and folklore that are part of Newport’s early history and culture, as well as see 17th & 18th century architecture built and lived in by mariners, shipbuilders and noted artisans. You will have both sweet and savory tastings using only the finest, freshest local ingredients available, from lobster shacks to cafes, to 17th century taverns to a hip, hidden, local hole-in-the-wall with tastings ranging from traditional New England fare to modern spins on old favorites.

Sample Tasting locations:
  • Stoneacre Brasserie - A neighborhood restaurant and cafe featuring a seasonal menu of locally sourced meats and produce from environmentally conscientious purveyors.
  • Mad Hatter Bakery  - An unassuming local bakery known for making one of Newport's most long standing traditional Irish staples.
  • Perro Salado - Popular Mexican Restaurant offering their famous slow cooked sticky pork ribs in one of Newport's treasured historic taverns.
  • Tavern on Broadway - A comfortable and inviting tavern where visitors and locals alike enjoy creative indigenous dishes of Newport and RI craft beers.
  • Mission - House-made Slaw Dog and cut fries located in a hidden, hip, hole-in-the-wall, hot dog joint.
  • Vanderbilt Grace Grille - A vintage mansion of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, restored to a boutique hotel delivering classic and contemporary dishes that are beautifully presented, where we will be served a light house made refreshment.

Morgan was a great guide. We had fun learning about Newport and the food was delicious! Only wished we would have walked a little more to burn off all the great food!
