Guide provides in-depth commentary on Seattle's culinary history
Meet the farmers, fishermen, bakers, and butchers of the market
What to expect
Whether you’ve chosen a morning or afternoon tour time, meet your guide and group at the Market Theater, near Seattle's famous gum wall, at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour. Set off for the Pike Place Market, the epicenter of Seattle's rich food culture. Follow your food-loving guide to the best stalls in the market, where they'll introduce you to winemakers, farmers, butchers, bakers, and craft makers of all types. Hear about the history of Seattle's culinary scene and learn about its bounty of products. Along the way, you'll get to taste many different samples of local foods, including clam chowder, fresh produce, artisan cheeses, and fresh donuts. The amount of food tasted on the tour is equivalent to a light lunch. Walk away with an in-depth understanding of Seattle's food culture and a repeat visitor card, good for 10 percent off purchases at tasting locations.

My Dream 50th Birthday Seattle Food Tour
I enjoyed the tour but was not fully prepared for the walking on different types of ground (side walks vs cobblestone). This is my arthritis in the legs & knees speaking. Lol.

Will, our tour guide was amazing. Knowledgeable, funny, great memory, friendly, etc.

We made some new friends along the way.

Hi Elaina! Glad you enjoyed the tour, but sorry to hear the the walking and cobblestones were an unpleasant surprise :-( We will make an effort to be more explicit with guests about the terrain and what they should be prepared for. Thanks so much for your feedback, it helps us improve our service for your fellow travelers!

Amazing food tour!
Feb. 2020
I went on one of these tours before I left for university, and it is by far one of the best tours to go on if you're new to Seattle! Heather was my tour guide and she was amazing from start to finish, even when it came to helping our group weave through all the people in the market that morning. We tried so many different food items and learned little bits of history about Seattle, it was really an amazing day, but don't take my word for it, go ahead and book a tour yourself!

Walking Food Tour
We had such a great time doing the pike’s place food tour. We are not normally ones for touristy tours but for our first time in Seattle, we needed guidance for pike’s place. We got our tickets through groupon so it was nice to have a discount too. We got to try foods that we never would have tried otherwise and also got to have just a few bites of lots of food from many different places. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend for someone who doesn’t know where to start when visiting for the first time!

Yummy & Fun Tour of Pike Place Market
Feb. 2020
My husband and I did this tour with Miriam, and we had the best time! Miriam was knowledgeable and paced the tour perfectly! It is obvious that Miriam loves food and we do too, so she was the perfect tour guide for us. We sampled so many yummy foods...the best Greek yogurt of my life, amazing cheeses, award winning clam chowder, and many other delicious bites. We were both happy and full by the end of the tour. This tour is very cool, and I highly recommend this tour for all ages!

Hi Tamra! We're so glad Miriam was able to show you around the Market. She certainly does love all the tastings we offer - she probably referenced her "Savor 15" she's gained since working for us. All of us in the office adore Ellenos, Beechers, Pike Place Chowder, and everywhere else we visit. Thanks for coming on our Food and Cultural tour, and we hope to see you again next time you're in Seattle!

We certainly were entertained by our guide, Justin. Loved his stories on the history and his sense of humor. I did think it was an expensive tour for the amount of samples we got. This is my second time with this tour, and I'm pretty sure we walked away very full the previous time.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't feel quite as full this time around - while our tours haven't changed in the last few years, we do understand that any number of factors can influence how folks feel afterwards. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our office (info@savorseattletours.com) and we would love to offer you a discount on a future tour to make things right. Thank you again for joining us!

Awesome culinary tour with interesting history as well
Feb. 2020
Even though we are local, this tour sounded really cool. And it was!

Our tour guide was Matt. He was full of personality and truly loved taking us on the tour, which made the day even better. He provided lots of great stories about Pike Place Market and Seattle - and gave tips for food within the Market after our tour as well.

As for the food...wow. So many delicious stops along the way. My wife can't eat gluten, soy or dairy - so she missed out on many of the food items, as substitution is difficult for the stops on the tour. So be ready for that if you have food allergies. But if not, be ready to taste an amazing array of foods.

Thanks Matt for a wonderful tour. We loved it!

It's such an honor to hear locals learn something and find new spots to eat when they take one of our tours! Matt especially knows how to point out hidden gems both on and off our Food and Cultural Tour. We know we don't always have options for folks with dietary restrictions, but we're glad you still enjoyed all the Market has to offer. Hopefully, we can see you on another Savor Seattle tour sometime soon!

Loved it!
Feb. 2020 • Friends
Wonderful experience! Our group of 4 had a great time. Matt was our guide and I’m so grateful he was. His enthusiasm, passion and energy for Seattle was tangible. The history of Seattle was all new to me so it was great learning about “Spoon Man” and many others. Food choices varied and more ‘generous’ than other tours I’ve been on. My favorite was the clam chowder! (Secret, I don’t like clams) About 2 hours, walking was not strenuous. Thanks again Matt!
