About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- michelamQ2523SS0 contributionswonderful experience, it remained in my heartWe are Italians who arrived in Skagway on a beautiful Ncl cruise, we got off in this delightful town early in the morning, after wandering around the streets, we bought salted caramel popcorn in a sweets shop and decided to take this tour by reading an advertising poster for Southeast Tours . The guide was Mr. Raymond, kind, friendly and very passionate about the place, at every stop of the tour he made us participate and answered our questions, in fact at the beginning of the tour he was worried when he heard that I didn't speak English well and tried to help me . He provided binoculars for a better observation of such wonder. I saw an eagle in flight so close up, it was fantastic. An experience that we hope to do again and highly recommend. I recommend bringing a good camera to be able to capture every moment in the best way and take it home with you. Our eyes were filled with so much beauty!!! Thanks AlaskaWritten 3 November 2024
- Z3261RQwilliamf0 contributionsNo go, no refund, book through cruise company next timeUnable to experience due to my ship avoiding docking at Skagway from high wind. Unable to cancel and losing all amount paid. Learned not to book any excursion not offered by the cruise company.Written 23 October 2024
- juliehD4144TQ0 contributionsBest day ever with TumbleweedWe had the best tour guide with Alaska 360 in Skagway. He went by the name, Tumbleweed. He was so personable, so eloquent and very knowledgeable. He made the trip to see the sled, dogs and mine for gold. Absolutely the most perfect day we have on our entire vacation.Written 4 October 2024
- 507amilcara0 contributionsF-In 16 cruises we made about 60 shore excursions and the one in Skagway was without a doubt the worst. On Broadway, between 2nd and 3rd Ave, meeting place unclear. We enter a store, the seller doesn't want to understand that we already have tickets and we are looking for the meeting place, he keeps telling us to buy from him. We leave irritated and without buying an (expensive!) toy that we wanted to give as a gift. The bus arrives late and the guide (R...? as it were) is disoriented, he doesn't know which group he has. He doesn't know how to adjust the temperature in the bus. And worst of all, he has a terrible voice, he screams almost all the time and doesn't shut up even for a second! I came down with an intense headache. That's all I remember from this trip to the shore.Written 29 September 2024
- Katie B0 contributionsGreat tour while in port! There are a lot of great tours to choose from so you have your pick! We booked our “Skagway City & Mountain Summit Tour” via the website (in advance) and it was very easy to book and prepay. They have multiple tours per day so you can choose your preferred time. You can also book on the day, but they are subject to availability so it’s best to pre-book if you want a guaranteed spot… or go to the tour office early! This tour follows a similar route of the White Pass Railway Tour but for a third of the price, and you make stops along the way so it’s more immersive. We started promptly at 11:30am and our driver was friendly and informative throughout the tour. All photo stops are optional, you can stay in the van the entire time if you wish! Highlight: the walk to the Lower Reid Falls was great (a short walk through the bush). Pro: we had a lot of photo stops with enough time at each stop to take decent pictures. Tip: it gets very cold so bring a jacket or wear layers for when you get out of the van to explore/take photos! I would recommend this tour and this tour operator to anyone wanting to explore Skagway’s general area while keeping it more cost effective and more timely.Written 26 September 2024
- Bill F0 contributionsHighlight of our Alaskan CruiseOne of the highlights of our Alaskan cruise, this tour was really good. The bus tour covered a lot of ground but offered many chances to stop and get a closer look at the scenery and stretch your legs. Raymond, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly - keeping us on track while letting us explore a little. A perfect day. A bit of a side story - my wife lost a head band that had sentimental value to us. I was able to reach Raymond and he found it on the bus and mailed it to us. A really good guy - while I’m sure the other guides are good, ask for him when you sign up for this tour.Written 14 September 2024
- TravellingAussieMum0 contributionsWonderful feature-filled and varied short tour from SkagwaySo glad we chose to do this instead of a White Pass & Yukon Route Railway shore tour! Not only was it roughly a third of the cost, but we saw just about everything the rail passengers would have seen, and were able to get out to enjoy scenic spots and have two walks. The walk in the clouds at the White Pass Summit was fantastic, as was our walk at the Gold Rush Cemetery and Reid Falls. We also enjoyed the magnificent view from the Skagway Lookout. Our local guide was delightful. He gave us an insight into how it is to live in the town all year, not just in the brief Summer tourist season, and was a good and patient photographer as people handed their phones and cameras to him throughout the tour. It was amazing how much sightseeing and learning was packed into a three hour trip! Highly recommend to all cruisers who want to see White Pass, learn about this town, and still have a few hours for self guided enjoyment of this fascinating town.Written 6 September 2024
- X1164ROgaryp0 contributionsNick was have a over stressed dayWe had a party of eight, we were on the Princess cruise lines and pre booked the excursion outside the cruise line. when we got to the check in location I will admit it was extremely busy as multiple cruise ships came into the port at about the same time. We found our way to southeast tours to check in for the 24 person bus ride along the highway into Canada, when we got to the front of the line we were confronted by a man named "Nick" who seamed to be overwhelmed in his work load, my senior friend who is 80 years old ask nick if we were in Canada and Nicks reply was No, my friend ask when did we need to show our Passport? Nick began yelling at him... I said all he did was ask you a question Nick, his reply was he would throw us off the tour if we didn't stop yelling at him.... this was uncalled for! it was clear that Nick was the one who was stressed out and over loaded with his task in his Job, I apologized to Nick if I upset him to put a stop to his rant. the tour was Ok the tour guide was the owner who we complained to and was assured she would have a talk with Nick about his customer service skills. The bottom line is the tour by any means is not cheap for what you get in return this type of customer service made this excursion a bad deal and I would highly recommend using a different tour service.Written 5 September 2024

- Travel195781211910 contributionsGreat tour guideThe tour was very fun. Got lots of pictures of the beautiful scenery and lots of insights into the history surrounding Klondike. So much more affordable than the railway, but equally as worthwhile. Chad was great to recommend some great local places to head to!Written 19 August 2024
- 645carlae0 contributionsStar struckAmazing, well run cant recommend enough. Great photo opportunities and a lunch included. Covers a lot of ground. Awesome guide who was knowledgeable and super friendly. Great company. Well worth it. We got highlights and plenty of information, but the best bit was when our guide cleaned the public toilets before our use, its the little things....and showed us wild blueberries.Written 9 August 2024
- David S0 contributionsGreat tour - Great tour guideGreat tour. Chad (driver & guide) was great - knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Lasted about 3 hrs. Drove up Skagway Hwy to White Pass and crossed over into Canada just a little. Saw how the 1890’s gold miners had to get into Canada. Those were real men. The tour was perfect for us. It really helped that the day was sunny and clear and +76F.Written 9 August 2024
- ginab5850 contributionsGreat tour with Rebekah! So I was so uncertain what to book for Skagway, and so glad I chose this! We met the tour company right in town (short walk from the port) and into a comfortable bus for our 6 hour trip. The time honestly flew by though because there were so many things to see/do, and Rebekah was an amazing guide and driver for us. The description in TripAdvisor doesn’t say much so I’ll elaborate: 1. Bus drives up Klondike highway and stops at maybe 4-6 places, with amazing views of waterfalls, majestic mountains, etc. Got some amazing pics. Small group of 19 for us so it was great not having a big crowd. 2. Lunch at carcross- manage your time wisely, we had to rush through taxidermy area and petting zoo (can feed alpacas and goats!) and the gift shop had some cute items. Lunch was yummy, bbq chicken with baked potato, coleslaw, rolls, homemade donuts, tea/coffee/water and they sell other drinks. I wouldn’t waste time doing the dog sledding because there’s so much to see there, you are only there for a short hour. 3. Return back down Klondike highway with a couple stops. We were lucky with gorgeous weather but if it’s bad out then this could be kind of a miserable excursion. Our tour started at 8am and we returned to Skagway downtown by 2pm. Would recommend to anyone!Written 6 August 2024
- Inspire522126777070 contributionsEnjoyable excursion in SkagwayOur guide, Chad, was funny and engaging. We enjoyed being able to get off the bus at the different stops to take photos and drink the water from the glacial waterfall. It was a good experience.Written 6 August 2024
- J1711XBstephenp0 contributionsAwesome experience on Skagway Yukon Discovery AdventureMy wife and I booked the Skagway Yukon Discovery Adventure tour for July 16,2024. This excursion did not disappoint. Our tour bus driver was "Brooke" and she was awesome. She is an experienced driver/tour guide and is well versed on the various sights in the area as well as the wildlife and points of interest. We enjoyed a scenic drive to the Yukon Territory and Carcross and had a very nice lunch at "Wild Adventure Yukon" and also viewed the Wildlife and Yukon Museum. We also enjoyed the stop in Carcross and my wife shopped briefly. While on the tour bus we had many opportunities to stop and take photographs at Emerald Lake, Bridal Veil Water Falls and other scenic spots. We also saw black bear while going to the Yukon Territory and again while returning to Skagway. We highly recommend this tour and our driver/tour guide "Brooke".Written 30 July 2024

This was a great trip easy to get to even though it was not an excursion offered by the cruise line. The price was less expensive and the value and experience was far better than our family had with the cruise line. We saw much more. Our guide was knowledgeable and worked with the weather (morning fog) to make sure we got to see as much as we could. When we spotted a mama bear and her 2 cubs he stopped to make sure we all got to see them and took pictures too. Book this trip!

Thankfully for Heath Goebel meeting us. He was not only able to give us a wonderful and sight filled tour, with our driver Sam, on our way to Carrcross for dog sledding and BBQ chicken, he made it possible for the Mendenhall’s, with the help of his daughter, to be able to make it to Skagway for this adventure and helped make a it back to Juneau to meet again and enjoy Mendenhall Glacier via helicopter. Great company for many options of excursions to fulfill any need to see Skagway and The Yukon, and don’t forget the POPCORN!!!! Sorry wouldn’t upload photos to share, but trust me you will not be disappointed.

We participated in the "Yukon Discovery & Sled Dog" adventure booked through Southeast Tours. Clay Harper was an awesome guide! He was clear spoken, had interesting facts and stories, was quick to offer his assistance with photos and is just an all-around really nice guy!
The bus ride up and back was one of our best Alaskan experiences! So very glad we did it! Didn't hurt that our weather was perfect once we entered Canada!!
The dog sledding was ok. It was fun, but we think it should be twice as long a route as it was. It was a simple 10 min ride on a well worn path. The young lady who took us out was upbeat and gave some fun facts and details; but we were left wanting to know some of the mushing commands (i.e. how did the dogs know whether to go right or left at the fork) and more time on the ride.
We wish there had been better interaction, maybe some amazing Iditarod stories, an "ambassador" husky, just more to the sled dog experience. For the cost, it felt skimpy.
Keep in mind that this is only open in the summer months as a dog training and fitness activity, so there are no sleds. The dogs pulled an open 12 passenger ATV type vehicle.
The little wildlife museum was pretty cool. The lunch was quite good. 👍

We booked this tour several months ago that started in Skagway and was supposed involve dog sledding and interact with the dogs. Several hours before the tour start time we got notice that they were canceling the dog portion of the tour due to restrictions getting into Canada due to COVID and offered to move us to just the bus tour in Skagway and refund a portion of the costs. We knew that Canada was closed but did not know the dogs were in Canada. The issue is that they had to know that getting into Canada was not allowed since that is common knowledge yet waited until it was too late for us to book an excursion on the cruise ship to tell us of the change in the tour. This in my opinion is deceptive and one could interpret that they did it hoping that we would agree to the change since it was too late to book anything else. Horrible way to run a business and I will never recommend this tour company to anyone.

This is an incorrect review. Your travel agent was supposed to notify you of the change to the Canadian Border. They were supposed to cancel or change your tour. When we got your manifest we saw this had not happened so we offered to refund you or change your tour. We did this out of a gesture of good will. We were trying to make lemonade out of lemons for you. At Southeast Tours, our pledge is to always give our passengers the best customer service. We request that you remove this one star review and direct it toward the appropriate party. Thank you.

Don't do this tour, if you are looking for a sled dog experience. Although advertised as a dog sledding attraction with a Yukon tour, it's best described as a Yukon tour with lunch. When we arrived at the dog sledding we were told we couldn't play with the puppies because they needed to nap. The closest we could get to the adult sled dogs was 30 ft away behind two barricades. Finally our tour director stepped in and we were allowed to hold one of the puppies for a very short period of time and passed him around the group; however, the pup was not an Alaskan Husky, sled dog pup it was a rescue dog they were caring for unt it found a home. To his credit, the driver Brian, was excellent narrator and very knowledgeable who drove very carefully. The Yukon Territory was beautiful, but the sled dog experience was awful

My first thought was we were going to get the opportunity to ride the sled. If that’s what you expect don’t book this one. We rode a bus with the driver giving some of the history of the area. We went to a place where some dogs were trained. They let the dogs out into an area. They put the dogs back up, brought out some puppies. The puppies were put up. A sled was shown. Some dogs were brought out and hooked to the sled. Pulling the sled with one of the workers on board the unit made one pass around a track. The dogs were put up and we were on our way back on our bus tour.

What an awesome experience with this tour company! Our driver Chad took care of us like we were royalty! We were picked up from our ship and taken into the center of Skagway to prep for our day! Then we were guided through some great sites of the Yukon along with a delicious lunch and a dog mushing experience! All the while we were attended to with utmost care! Sadly the weather was rainy and foggy but Chad was like a First Nations guide finding the spots to get the best views despite the poor conditions. He also managed to get us to the best spots before the rest of the tourists descended on those locations allowing for some private access to things! His safe driving through awful weather made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Really can't say enough about this tour company!

Coming ashore from cruise ship we’d booked “Gold panning, Sled Dogs & Exclusive White Pass Scenic Railway”. Every one of the pieces was very enjoyable & informative thanks to our character tour guide Klondike Mike! What a fun experience & we still had time leftover to explore Skagway’s restaurants, shops & historical offerings. Great place to visit!

Booked this excursion months before we went to Alaska and was totally disappointed in it. The dog sledding part of the tour was canceled and we were not informed of this until we were getting ready to leave. Was told that we were going to get a refund of that part of the excursion and as of today 5/22/2022 still have not received the refund. We did not get to even see the sled dogs except from far away in their pens. The puppies you get to pet and play with are regular dogs not working dogs. It’s great that they are a rescue for dogs but not what was expected at all. The bus driver was lively. Know before you go it is a two and half hour bus ride there and back. I understand that they do not control the weather and that is why the dog sledding part was canceled but if you say you are going to refund it should be the same day not 3 weeks later or not at all. We did not even get to go to the lake to see it.

We do apologize the dog sledding was cancelled, spring in Alaska is unpredictable. Depending how you booked the tour depends on how long it takes to receive your refund (direct, third party, online, etc...) If you still have not received your refund, please call our office and we are happy to assist you.

Great alternative to White Pass Rail. Tour van does several stops, including photo Ops of wildlife ( black bear, moose, golden eagles, bald eagles, etc.), Also stopped at "Welcome to Alaska" sign, "Yukon" sign, several lakes, etc. We chose to add Sled Dog ride. Came with included lunch and beverages, petting zoo, and wild life museum. Highly recommended. Clay was a great driver/tour guide!

No free puppies. The puppies were older (4 months +) and were not particularly interested in visitors. The dogs at Denali National Park were much more engaging.
