About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 741kaitlynw0 contributionsInformative & InterestingWe took the Bull Street experience and had a wonderful time! I’ve been on quite a few tours in Savannah and Carry (spelling?) told us about a lot of history I had not heard about before. We had great conversation with her along our tour. Thanks so much for the great tour and the laughs!Written 19 October 2022
- William M0 contributionsThe hidden stories of SavannahThe cafés where we stopped were very nice. The pastries were great. All along the way the guide provided historical conte t for the buildings we passed. We would never have known all the "back stories " if not for the extensive knowledge of our guideWritten 25 May 2021
- greenmountainzen0 contributionsFascinating & Enjoyable Introduction to SavannahGreatly appreciated our laid back and well informed guide’s approach to sharing her knowledge and passion for Savannah’s history. She pulled no punches when it came to our questions on the role of slavery, religion and native Americans in shaping the birth and growth of Savannah.Written 22 February 2020
- noellestock0 contributionsFantastic ghost tour!Fantastic ghost tour! Non-stop goosebumps. Carrie is extremely knowledgeable about Savannah and gives historical context to make the ghost stories come alive. Highly recommend!Written 29 December 2019
- mitchmoore590 contributionsInformative and funCarry Smith was our tour guide. She was a wealth of knowledge and very passionate about the history and stories behind the stories. The small breaks at the cafe's gave a taste of the local flavor and an opportunity to sit and chat and listen to Carry's stories. We'd highly recommend this tour.Written 23 March 2019
- MagsAZ17180 contributionsPub Crawl and Ghosts!Went on the tour in Savannah with my 87 year old mother and two sisters. Mom was using a scooter and I was afraid there would be places she could not go but Carrie, our tour guided, made sure she was both safe - while crossing the streets- and able to enjoy the entire tour. It ended up just being the four of us so it felt like a private tour. We learned fun facts about Savannah’s history, visited haunted pubs and enjoyed a cocktail, or two along the way. Tour lasts about 2 hours and the walk isn’t bad for us older divas! Would highly suggest it.Written 17 October 2018
- Terry S0 contributionsBoos and Brews!Carry is very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah and the surrounding bars! She knows where to get the best boos and brews. Definitely recommend if you’re in town!Written 9 September 2018
- Daniel R0 contributionsPub crawlWe had a tour with Carrie. She was EXCELLENT and very funny. This is not your typical ghost story tour. This tour is based on actual history that can be verified. We hit about 4 pubs that had great drinks and got a chance to see the historical facts about the pub along with the underground tunnels. Carrie even gave great suggestions o a Gullah Geechee restaurant that I'm planning to visit.Written 9 August 2018
- kasunart0 contributionsExcellent walking tour!Richard, THE Mayor of Greene Square, is a hoot. He is passionate about Savannah, and is chock full of history and wisdom. An excellent storyteller, the time flies listening to him-he's a natural for sure. He's got a real Savannah southern drawl. In fact, he traces his ancestors to the first landing of Savannah! I will definitely be taking all their various tours in the future!Written 31 July 2018
- Kendall C0 contributionsNot Your Typical Historic Tour of Savannah!I have lived in the area for 3 years, my boyfriend 10. We love Savannah and have done many many tours. Richard, the mayor if green square, was by far the best yet! Being a native to Savannah, Richard brought stories and history long forgotten by the mainstream tours. My personal favorite was hearing about aspects of the African American history and the feminist history in Savannah that I never knew existed (or that has been white washed). Afterwards he even invited me in to see his historic home on green square, as I am an interior designer and love historic architecture. Humor, REAL HISTORY, and a local guide...what more could you want on a trip to Savannah?!Written 30 July 2018
- Colleen M0 contributionsMayor of Greene Square, Savannah, GAIf you're looking for a tour based on solid historical fact, presented with animation, and threaded with humor, this is the tour for you. Richard, the Mayor of Greene Square, is a native of Savannah and has perfected a condensed history of the Historic District which begins with the founding of Savannah and brings you up to today. Anecdotes of growing up in Savannah in the 1950's-70's are charming and paint vivid pictures of the City's growth and transitions. The tour started and ended precisely at the times stated. It is fun and I recommend to all.Written 29 July 2018
- Heidi W0 contributionsGuided tour of Savannah’s Colonial district by The Mayor of Greene SquareThoroughly enjoyed our walking tour experience with Savannah born native, Richard. With family roots traced back to Savannah’s earliest settlers, you will be wowed by his fount of factual history and a genuine love for his home town. This is not a cookie cutter guide to Savannah, but a very engaging account of how the city came to be and the people who molded it into what it is today.Written 29 July 2018
