- valeriecF4771YY0 contributionsGreenwich Village is So SpookyThe tour was an excellent combination of interesting history and spooky stories. I especially liked stopping at Washington Square Park and later hearing about the girl in the blue dress! Our guide Emilia was AWESOME! I really recommend :)Written 8 October 2024
- steniof1930 contributionsThumbs up!Positive experience, guide was professional and on time, lots of interesting stories. Personally I would prefer less historical accuracy and more ghost stories, but there were plenty of haunting tales and now when I go to the area I can show off my knowledge to friends :-)Written 28 September 2024
- K2915FOshannonw0 contributionsMust have experience in the city!!Jules was such an amazing tour guide. I went with my best friend and she is a medium in training, and she was able to sense/see so many spirits! Our tour guide was so patient and knowledgeable, and the extended tour guide was absolutely worth it!!Written 24 August 2024

I learned a lot of fascinating spooky history, and our tour guide Becca was so charming and funny. She made everyone feel welcome and made an effort to make sure everyone was included. - J8875VQmelissas0 contributionsBoos and Booze - Highly Recommend! We had such a great time on this tour! We were lucky enough to be the only 2 on the tour, so we really got to know our guide well. Becca was so knowledgeable about the ghost stories, but also about the City as a whole! We loved the wide range of ghost stories and the unique bar stops through such a fun part of the City!Written 13 June 2024
- darellano180 contributionsDon’t miss out on this tour!My husband and I always do a ghost tour in every city we visit and NYGhost and Marcus did not disappoint! We were greeted by Marcus and pleasantly surprised to hear we were the only attendees who showed (due to the weather being cold and rainy). Marcus was extremely informative, entertaining and kind. He shared so many experiences, stories and history from all around the village that we actually felt like we learned something after the tour had ended.Written 2 December 2023

- amydodson0 contributionsGreat funI’ve been on several tours like this and have learned so much about this history of whatever city I’m in. This NYC tour was equal parts informative history and great fun! A unique and relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. Hannah was a great guide; she has a quick wit and charm...and no corny jokes. You won’t regret this tour!Written 24 April 2021
- GenioAzul0 contributionsStressing and non enjoyable experience... and not because of ghosts. The guide seemed to be in a hurry since minute one so the group was following her almost running all around Greenwich Village. She was explaining even while walking (and crossing the streets) so the people behind couldn't even listen to her stories. She knows what she talks about and once you stop in front of a building you receive a quick explanation about why the stop there. Zero ambiance, adequate attitude or feeling of staying in spooky or even interesting places as all the time you feel like running (and I am in good shape) and that she wants to finish as soon as possible and leave you there. It is a pity as the zone seems interesting with good places and stories and with a good guide it must be a good experience. On the other hand you can pay 10 dollars more to have an "extra" 30 minutes that consists basically in one place more a couple of blocks from the finishing point. That finally tastes cheap. I have done ghosts tours around the world and they were way far better experiences (even the mediocre ones). They should better prepare the guides to help customers get in the "ghosts mood", if they are in a hurry or they don't care at all about the job they are doing show them to pretend they are enjoying the experience. Better visit less places and let people feel or imagine something but above all don't underestimate good will in customers or the value of their money.Written 22 July 2019

It was a great experience. Trevor was super knowledgeable, genuine, and entertaining. He did a great job sharing the history of New York and also keeping us entertained with the ghost stories. It was both a fun spooky evening and educational. There is certainly something in this tour for everyone. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time. Thanks for a wonderful evening Trevor!

I did this tour in October. it was spectacular. I had so much fun. Our guide John was very knowledgeable for such a young fella, and he was very entertaining. The stops on the tour were just great, so full of history and the macabre, and I'm so glad I went the extra mile and upgraded for the 4 additional stops, because I got to see a bucket list item of mine, the Triangle Shirtwaist factory location. John was very patient with all my questions, and the group was a max of 20 so it made it pleasant to travel as a pack. I was the only one who paid for the EMF reader, so it was fun being the designated lookout for paranormal activity, which there sure was plenty of! The Poe house location was a hotbed of EMF readings and I experienced physical sensations at the location as well, spooky considering this was a stop on the extended tour and there were only 4 of us including the guide, so none of them touched me! This was a really fun way to spend an evening if you've never been to NYC before (Im an Australian, so its not an easy quick trip to make regularly), or even if you're a resident and never knew the long history ofanhattan (Washington Square park alone has a long sad and messy tale!). Shout out to John who was just a gem, thanks for making my short trip to the USA a fun one!

I absolutely loved my tour host Marcus ("rhymes with Carcass") who was funny, educational, entertaining, accommodating. He had so many great stories about the downtown area and was helpful in getting directions and a sense of the area in the times long before. Would highly recommend you ask for him and giving him a shoutout here in case he is ever reading this. Thank you for being a great host!

A great little tour. We booked for Sunday so weren’t surprised that we were the only folks in attendance. The host ‘Marcus Carcass’ was great and explained that he’d maybe be a little less theatrical than usual with it just being the two of us and make it more conversational. It was a great tour and he had many facts and we also had some chats around the different phenomena and locations on the way round.
Some of the stories were more ghost related than others but all interesting and there was one story involving the Jefferson Market Library which was a particular ‘spine tingler’!

I was at the meeting point 20 mins before the supposed meeting time but the tour guide wasn’t there. when I called the company firstly they said that the tour guide didn’t make it and that they are going to refund but after a couple of minutes they were like the tour guide was there so we’re not going to refund you. BTW I called them several hours before I was there to confirm that there are other people coming and they confirmed that there were 4,which was also a lie because no one was there for the tour.

Really fun tour! Our guide Marlina was highly engaging, humorous, and knowledgeable! The tour moved at a great pace and stopped at several cool spots around the Village! The small group size kept it perfectly intimate. A nice and festive way to end our October NYC visit!

While Marcus was a great guide the tour was not small as promised (no more than 20). Upon arrival, there were 2 tour guides as there were way too many people, and it was made apparent that everyone got the extended tour, even if it was not paid for by everyone. There was more than 30 people on our tour even after the split
and it was more of a history tour than a ghost tour. I have been on ghost tours all over the country and while I had high expectations, I was disappointed.

I loved this tour!! I’ve lived in New York for the last 8 years, and I learned so much about the city that I love. My tour guide, Marlina, was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. She made the time go by quickly and the dark details very interesting. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to see a different side of NYC!

Jules was our guide, with Marcus her mentor accompanying. They were both very fun and passionate about New York ghosts and their histories. We had a great scenic and walkable route through Greenwich Village, and the stops were diverse in their array and scope of hauntings. Also, A+ to Jules's witch hat!

Alec was such an amazing guide! We had so much fun with him walking around the village and learning about spooky things, right around Halloween. He was funny and knowledgeable. He also hung around afterwards to offer recommendations to people! Finally, I really appreciated that he called me personally when we were running 3 minutes late, to let us know where they were. It was very helpful. Great tour with a great guide (Alec)!

Hi is this something I can join by myself for tonight, Sunday 11/3?
Or do I need to bring my own group? Not sure if “small group” means private group, or if I’d be the only one, or crashing someone else’s group. I’m in town on my own. Thanks!
Written 3 November 2019
You can do this trip on your own! I believe they can accommodate groups though
