About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SeagullBaz0 contributionsBikerent.nyc - I WANT A REFUNDBikerent.nyc - The Trip Advisor link at the website for these sent me to this page and I'm so annoyed with them that I decided to write this review. I'm from the UK and my wife and I decided to hire bikes through Bikerent.nyc to cycle around Central Park on 21st Jan 2025. We turned up at the designated pick up point to find the bike hut to be locked with shutters down and no explanation. We have been trying ever since to get a response through their email address but have had no contact from them at all. Their website indicates that if they cancel we will get a full refund and the cancellation for inclement weather would be on their website. It was not and we haven't had a refund or any contact or explanation. They have had our money since August 2024 for the bike hire and all we want is our money back and an explanation as to why their customer service and communication is so poor. I'd suggest using a different bike hire if I was you. It has certainly left a bad taste in our mouths.Written 25 January 2025

- J2263DYwills0 contributionsScooter Tour w FilipFilip gave my wife and I a personal scooter tour with just us two. It was the funnest part of our trip. He knew everything about the park’s history and would stop at certain points to let us walk around and look at the sites. I was 100% impressed, so much so that 6 days later I am back home in Virginia still thinking about how much fun it was. Keep up the great work Filip. For those who have a tour upcoming, when you arrive, just go inside to the front desk and say you’re here for the tour and they’ll help you. The scooters are easy to ride. I 100% standby this business. Thank you for such a memorable experience.Written 20 December 2024

- 300deannem0 contributionsPhilip was greatPhilip was great today , we leant so much about Central Park ….A great tour …. The only negative was the girl on front desk she was so unfriendly that I nearly didn’t do the tour as I didn’t feel comfortable…. No one was really that friendly….Written 3 December 2024
- darleneb1750 contributionsCentral Park E-bike Tour with PhillipPhillip was great. We had a small group of about 6 people. I would highly recommend seeing Central Park via e-bike. The park does get busy, so you need to pay attention. This was a great introduction to the park if you have never been before or looking to learn more about Central Park.Written 19 November 2024
- DaveSalop0 contributionsHighly recommend! We did the guided e-scooter tour of Central Park as a family of 4 and everyone loved it. The guide was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was around 2hrs in total and covered a lot of the main features of the park, but you could easily spend more time exploring. Would definitely recommend to anyone.Written 26 October 2024
- denisebee740 contributionsGreat way to see the park!Clear meeting instructions, fun guide, and a great way to learn new things about the park! The electric scooters were easy to ride.Written 12 October 2024
- Mary M0 contributionsGood timeThis was an easy ride through Central Park. Guide was informative and friendly. The ride started 10 minutes late and finished 8 minutes early, and there were 3 stops along the ride to walk around independently. I would’ve preferred more time to actually ride but overall this was very good experience.Written 12 October 2024
- keithbA4294JQ0 contributionsScooter fun with PhillipScooter tour through Central Park is worth it. Phillip was our guide, he made the trip fun and had lots of knowledge of the park and answered everyone’s questions. The scooters are easy to operate and gliding around the paved areas is effortless. The John Lennon “Imagine” memorial is a must.Written 11 October 2024
- annettebW8230GF0 contributionsBad companyThey gave us a lock which was not working. We could not fasten the bicyles to a fence. What we tried, it didn’t work. We wanted to visite the Statue of Liberty, but because we could not leave the bikes with a lock, we didn’t do that. So our day was spoild. We already had tickets for the boat. When we came back to the rental the boy said ‘did you call’. No we didn’t! He took the lock to counter. When we talked to the the girl at the counter she showed us how to use the lock, as if we don’t know how to use the lock as a Dutchman. We are sure they changed the broken lock for a good one. An other thing is, the bikes are very old and used. For the $ 60 2 bikes all day you don’t get value for your money. We recommand not to hire a bike at that place.Written 6 October 2024
- A9216CFmartinh0 contributionsGreat time overall, but BYO helmet.Enjoyed the trip greatly! My first time on an e-scooter but it was no big deal. Equipment seemed to be in good shape, guides knowledgeable, and overall had a good time. Wish they could have set me up with a properly fitting helmet, though. If you need a helmet, you may want to consider bringing your own.Written 6 October 2024
- MelnNick0 contributionsEnjoyable and pleasant morning through the park. The place was not welcoming when we arrived - quite awkward actually. English was not a strong suit. Luckily our guide turned up who was very personable and is a local New Yorker. Due to the weather the other 5 people did not show so we were lucky to get a private tour. Arty was very knowledgeable. The park was beautiful and it was so good to see it this way. We didn’t end up having to worry about for rain which was fortunate. Would recommend as a way to experience the park.Written 20 August 2024

- robynadferd0 contributionsGreat way to experience Central ParkPhillip was a great tour guide! This was a fun tour that hit all the highlights of the park. You get time at the stops to walk around and take pictures. The scooters are easy to use and a lot of fun and we learned a bunch about the park and the city that we never knew before. Definitely recommend this if you're in town for a few days and want to see all of the park but have already walked a gazillion miles and need a little break!Written 5 August 2024

We hired 2 bikes for 2 hours on a Monday afternoon in May. We hadn't booked, although I had checked before hand that we wouldn't need to book. The whole process was straight forward, and quick. I'd recommend 2 hours if you want to stop at various places to have a look, such as the castle. If you just want to do a loop of the park without stopping, an hour would be fine. Other than the main road, other paths were quite busy with pedestrians. You get a bike lock included in the hire price, so no problem if you want to stop a few times.

Our group of 4 adults thoroughly enjoyed the guided bike tour of Centra Park. As a Brooklyn born New Yorker who frequented the City until I was in my late teens/early twenties, other than riding thru the park or jogging around the pond, I never stopped to see the wonderful historic beautiful sites. Antoine, our guide was excellent. He was full of park trivia and made sure the group stayed together. He even watched our bikes at each stop so we could site see. The biking is pretty easy, just have to be careful of the joggers and horse carriages on the west side. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who can ride a bike and wants to explore the natural beauty of the park.

The bike tour was really nice and my family had a good time, however, we rented regular bikes and others had electric bikes and scooters so it was very hard to keep up. Had I known the tour was going to have both electric and regular bikes, I would have chosen the electric version. The electric bikes and scooters are MUCH more expensive though. We missed a lot of the tour guide's talking because we were at the back of the pack. We saw a lot of Central Park but also felt like we missed a lot of key places like the castle and zoo. I had hoped there would be more stops and sightseeing. Our guide Phillip was knowledgeable and friendly but the staff at the bike shop where the bikes are picked up were less than helpful and very cold. Central Park has more hills than you think so it is not an easy ride! Go electric, bring lots of water, and wear shorts!

The worst bike tour we have done (10+ throughout North America and Europe) - from the beginning, other than a very nice reception young woman, the staff were rude and terrible at communicating. They don't know how to choose or fit a bike, nor do they show people how to use the bike (gears, etc.) they were late leaving and they ended 15min early. Then our guide, although pleasant, was not a good guide. He sometimes gave signals of when to turn, and when he did, it was last minute. The actual guide information of interesting and/or historical information was minimal and mostly about where famous people lived.

Central Park was fine, big yes but nothing exceptional. What was disappointing was the attitude of our guide. We were a fairly large group with varying ages and levels of fitness. The guide rode up front with the fittest of the group and stopped with regular stages. Unfortunately, his limited descriptions of the history and layout of the park were mainly delivered before half the party had caught up. Take our advice, there are good maps and plenty of history available and for about half the cost you’d be better hiring the bikes and making your own way.

We read through the reviews in advance and heeded advice to keep up with our tour guide Chris to hear all of his commentary. Note that we are avid cyclists but even with a group of 14 everyone was able to stay together. Chris provided interesting facts about the history of the park, notable areas, familiar movie settings, park events and activities, etc. It was a picture perfect day and very fun experience for our first visit to Central Park!

We had SUCH a great time! Our party consisted of two adults and two children (aged 12 and 16). Edward our guide was brilliant - he gave us enough information so it was interesting, but not too much that it became overwhelming and the pace was just right for us. We were lucky enough to have amazingly great weather for Feb so with the sun shining we whizzed around the paths, surround by the iconic buildings and scenery. It was a wonderful experience. My husband and I had used this tour company before on a previous visit and I am pleased to say second time round it was just as good! It is a memory we will treasure during our time in NYC. I would recommend that you take a bottle of water with you as groups size depending, you may find an opportunity to stop difficult, also remember your camera/ phone for various stops where you can take pictures along the route, and def wear comfortable shoes.

Nice visit which allows you to discover nice places which would be difficult to access on foot. Quality rental bike and Audrey is a friendly guide full of energy. With a smile, she handled a cycling incident (blocked cane) very well. As NY is a city where we have to walk a lot, cycling allows us to rest a little, even if it goes uphill from time to time!

Our guide Chris was just the right amount of informative but not overbearing. He was warm, welcoming and seemed interested in everyone in our group of 7 visitors from the US and Europe. Central Park in Autumn is absolutely beautiful! The biking itself was strenuous at times, there are some long inclines that don't look like much, but your legs definitely feel them. If you don't normally bike longer distances, consider a powered bike vs a regular bike. The tour itself was informative and gave a short history of the park at the beginning, but the best part was to have a guide who knew where he was going so you can just relax and follow, while looking around at the amazing trees, plants, people and of course the New York City skyline in different areas of the park. After the tour, walk around some more and just enjoy this world class public space, my adult daughter and I loved seeing all the different breeds at the dog park, playing in the sunshine. New York in the fall is stellar!

Every time I go to NYC, I do a Central Park bike tour. This likable guide, Chris, was on his game and took us through many classic parts of the park. Since I was often at the end of the group, I missed what he said to bikers next to him. I would have preferred more group talks while standing rather than the time to wander freely. He did take time to answer lots of questions--always valuable!

As I recall, we traveled a short distance from the bike shop to the park and back to the shop as well. It was all on bike lanes with our guide leading us and there was no heavy or difficult traffic. We never felt unsafe. Once in the park, there are no traffic issues. It was a fantastic tour. Our guide was excellent. We learned allot about the park and the buildings surrounding it.
