Bikerent.nyc - The Trip Advisor link at the website for these sent me to this page and I'm so annoyed with them that I decided to write this review. I'm from the UK and my wife and I decided to hire bikes through Bikerent.nyc to cycle around Central Park on 21st Jan 2025. We turned up at the designated pick up point to find the bike hut to be locked with shutters down and no explanation. We have been trying ever since to get a response through their email address but have had no contact from them at all. Their website indicates that if they cancel we will get a full refund and the cancellation for inclement weather would be on their website. It was not and we haven't had a refund or any contact or explanation. They have had our money since August 2024 for the bike hire and all we want is our money back and an explanation as to why their customer service and communication is so poor. I'd suggest using a different bike hire if I was you. It has certainly left a bad taste in our mouths.

Great tour of central park, tour guide was interesting with prices of New York history. Scooters where good fun… well worth doing while you are in New York

Filip gave my wife and I a personal scooter tour with just us two. It was the funnest part of our trip. He knew everything about the park’s history and would stop at certain points to let us walk around and look at the sites. I was 100% impressed, so much so that 6 days later I am back home in Virginia still thinking about how much fun it was. Keep up the great work Filip. For those who have a tour upcoming, when you arrive, just go inside to the front desk and say you’re here for the tour and they’ll help you. The scooters are easy to ride. I 100% standby this business. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

Philip was great today , we leant so much about Central Park ….A great tour …. The only negative was the girl on front desk she was so unfriendly that I nearly didn’t do the tour as I didn’t feel comfortable…. No one was really that friendly….

Phillip was great. We had a small group of about 6 people. I would highly recommend seeing Central Park via e-bike. The park does get busy, so you need to pay attention. This was a great introduction to the park if you have never been before or looking to learn more about Central Park.

We did the guided e-scooter tour of Central Park as a family of 4 and everyone loved it. The guide was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was around 2hrs in total and covered a lot of the main features of the park, but you could easily spend more time exploring. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Clear meeting instructions, fun guide, and a great way to learn new things about the park! The electric scooters were easy to ride.

This was an easy ride through Central Park. Guide was informative and friendly. The ride started 10 minutes late and finished 8 minutes early, and there were 3 stops along the ride to walk around independently. I would’ve preferred more time to actually ride but overall this was very good experience.

Scooter tour through Central Park is worth it. Phillip was our guide, he made the trip fun and had lots of knowledge of the park and answered everyone’s questions. The scooters are easy to operate and gliding around the paved areas is effortless. The John Lennon “Imagine” memorial is a must.

They gave us a lock which was not working. We could not fasten the bicyles to a fence. What we tried, it didn’t work. We wanted to visite the Statue of Liberty, but because we could not leave the bikes with a lock, we didn’t do that. So our day was spoild. We already had tickets for the boat. When we came back to the rental the boy said ‘did you call’. No we didn’t! He took the lock to counter. When we talked to the the girl at the counter she showed us how to use the lock, as if we don’t know how to use the lock as a Dutchman. We are sure they changed the broken lock for a good one. An other thing is, the bikes are very old and used. For the $ 60 2 bikes all day you don’t get value for your money. We recommand not to hire a bike at that place.

Enjoyed the trip greatly! My first time on an e-scooter but it was no big deal. Equipment seemed to be in good shape, guides knowledgeable, and overall had a good time. Wish they could have set me up with a properly fitting helmet, though. If you need a helmet, you may want to consider bringing your own.

The place was not welcoming when we arrived - quite awkward actually. English was not a strong suit. Luckily our guide turned up who was very personable and is a local New Yorker. Due to the weather the other 5 people did not show so we were lucky to get a private tour. Arty was very knowledgeable. The park was beautiful and it was so good to see it this way. We didn’t end up having to worry about for rain which was fortunate. Would recommend as a way to experience the park.

The scooters are easy to use and a lot of fun and we learned a bunch about the park and the city that we never knew before. Definitely recommend this if you're in town for a few days and want to see all of the park but have already walked a gazillion miles and need a little break!
