About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Christin C0 contributionsImpressed and DisappointedI wanted to give this tour 5 stars, but it fell short. The tour began with a warm and cozy tour bus on a cold and rainy evening. The tour guide, introduced himself and led us through a decent introduction. If you can get past the word "um" every two words, you'll be okay. He explained to us the stops we would be making and we got a great laugh when he described them as the "appetizer," "main course," and dessert. The tour itself was incredible. The houses were breathtaking and despite the cold, rainy night, we enjoyed our tour. With that being said, it was not guided. Here's my biggest complaint. On the last stop, we got out and had an opportunity for a picture with the Brooklyn Bridge and NYC Skyline. Most of our group stayed on the bus due to the weather, but my husband and I chose to brave it. As our tour guide skipped around (literally), we asked if he could take a picture of us. He promptly said, "No." We stood there kind of shocked, until he finally said, "Ask someone else in the tour." This was a huge letdown. Dyker Heights and the homes were incredible. The tour lacked.Written 13 January 2025
- Wanderer063894945920 contributionsDyker Heights despite policeCrazy experience - driver Jimmy and guide Camila did everything to make sure we could see the Christmas lights at Dyker Heights although the police didn't want the bus stop! Thank you!Written 3 January 2025
- Ardeth L0 contributionsBrooklyn Lights were great! The amount of extra walking made it difficult for us, so we stayed back in the bus. It was possibly going to be stopped by the police, so they parked away from the original entrance.Written 3 January 2025
- Bray11800 contributionsAn awesome tour! This Dyker Heights Christmas Lights bus tour was awesome! It was out first time in NYC, therefore our first trip to see Dyker Heights. The tour host was very nice & gave lots of facts about city & landmarks we passed along the way. He did a great job of making sure the group stayed together so that no one got lost. The driver was also nice & did a great job getting us there & back safely. They took us to Bay Ridge first to see some nicely decorated houses, we approached this stop as it was way less crowded than Dyker Heights. Dyker Heights had SO MANY over the top decorations as well as some toned-down more simplistic & classic Christmas decor. There were homes who were selling hot chocolates & treats as well as food trucks set up. Do beware there is nowhere to go to the bathroom in Dyker Heights but there is a bathroom on the bus, so that's a plus. After leaving from there, we made a stop along the water before crossing back over to head back to the city. We got to see the Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan skyline all lit up at night & it was absolutely beautiful!! That was our favorite part of the trip!Written 2 January 2025
- Kirsty B0 contributionsHighly recommendExtremely enjoyable and very well organised. Daniel our tour guide was great. He was really clear on what was happening, how long things would take and shared lots of interesting information throughout the trip. The walking tour was very busy in places but didn’t impact on being able to see the houses and take photos. The stop at Brooklyn bridge was the highlight, amazing views. Would definitely recommend.Written 31 December 2024

- Roam7301130 contributionsMagical and funThe weather was perfect for walking outside. Our tour guide, Daniel, was wonderful: planned the walk perfectly to let us see most lights and decorations in amount of time we had. He provided guidance without being intrusive. The stop at the Brooklyn bridge was perfect ending with very nice picture opportunities too. Highly recommend this.Written 30 December 2024

- Wanderer061495034080 contributionsMother and Daughter Trip! Our tour guide, Steve, was fantastic! From the moment we boarded the bus, he provided a continuous commentary on the history of the neighborhoods and landmarks we passed. I really appreciated his insights and recommendations for places to eat. The bus was clean but no water so bring hand sanitizer. The neighborhood light displays were amazing and wonderful sight to see. The Brooklyn Bridge stop offered a great photo opportunity of not just the bridge but the city skyline at night. Allan was a wonderful tour guide except he could dial in a bit more jokes and less on history or old documentary movies but anyway I guess those helped to put me to sleep since the trip started at 6:15 am in Broadway NYC (lmao)
However Allan did a fantastic job as tour guide as 1 day before the tour he already sent me a message on WA about the tour starting detail and in the end he even gave us extra photo-spot attraction in Weehawken, NJ for the Manhattan skyline at sunset and the bus also went past the scenic Chesapeake Bay Bridge on return and these all surely made one heck of a day trip from NYC to Washington DC.
Thanks Allan you did great! I hope to see you again if I traveled to the US with my parents!

Recommended! After 4 hours (and a stopover) in a comfortable, spacious bus with air conditioning and WiFi you arrive in Washington DC. You will stop at all the highlights mentioned and have plenty of time to view everything and take photos. You will be taken from place to place by bus in a luxurious manner. You will have seen all the major highlights of Washington within a day.
Our tour guide Steve is a very nice and kind person. He tells a lot, so you also learn something ;)
The drivers (we had 2 who took turns) were also very friendly and drove well.

This was an excellent trip and very well organised, from the coach to the drivers and the guide (Steve) who was very informative throughout the day with a vast wealth of knowledge, but also keeping the humerous side up which kept you remaining focused and interested.
The day was long due to the distance to and from NYC to Washington but well worth it (full size coach with AC) 👌
I travelled to NYC for my sons 13th birthday from Liverpool in the UK and thought it would be a great experience for him to also see the Capital (it was and he really enjoyed all the sites and the information provided by Steve).
Also a thank you to the drivers who got us there and back safely and on time despite passing through a massive rain/thunder and lightning storm from baltimore to delaware (felt safe all the time despite testing road/driving conditions).
The Coach Team and Guide Steve also took the time despite a long day for themselves to stop at a high level New Jersey esplanade/vantage point opposite Manhatten for some panoramic photos, which again was them going above and beyond.
All round a great trip and would highly recommend using this group/company who were very professional (great Job Steve and the two drivers)
Many Thanks Gary Jones Liverpool UK

I took my daughter overseas to New York as a reward for her high school success. I suggested a closer destination like Hawaii, but she was set on New York, and we hadn't taken a long trip in years.
Booking a tour of Washington through Expedia turned out to be a mistake. Instead of a comfortable bus tour, it was a cramped van with a driver/ guide who provided no clear itinerary. All I knew was that we were headed to Washington, assuming we'd see major landmarks like the White House. I never anticipated being led on an icy trek through a park.
Despite heavy snowfall, we were marched through what I later learned was the Mall, to see war memorials that held little interest for me. There were icicles on the MLK monument. Nobody else was around. The cold was unbearable, and the ice made walking treacherous.
I slipped near the Korean War Memorial on black ice, fracturing my wrist and turning what was supposed to be a memorable trip into a nightmare of pain and expenses. I needed surgery and had to take time off work.
If I were showing someone around my local area, I'd warn them about dangers like sharks in the water or snakes in the bush. Yet, nobody cared about my safety on this tour. They should've assessed the risks, especially considering the diverse backgrounds of their tourists who might not be familiar with local conditions. The guide expressed regret, but that doesn't change the fact that I was injured on what was supposed to be a safe excursion, not an adventure tour.

**"Overpriced Tour with Poor Planning and Misleading Promises"**
The tour from New York to Washington was overly long and overpriced, with no water provided during the journey. Most of the stops were at free-entry parks, making the tour feel like poor value for money. Despite the package mentioning a visit to the White House, it was never included in the itinerary, which was highly disappointing.
It also felt like the tour was designed to prioritize stops where they earn commissions, as we were taken to the same food court twice—once for breakfast at 8 PM and again for dinner at 4 PM. For anyone considering this trip, it’s better to take the train and explore the attractions at your own pace for a more enjoyable and cost-effective experience.

Sorry you didn't enjoy this tour. This is a 500 mile one day tour with 3 rest stops. Lunch is at Union Station at 2pm. All sites in Washington are part of the National Park with free admission. The White House stop is a photo op. No groups tour inside. Please let us know your guide's name to confirm if you went with our company.

Our Tour America guide was Paz and he was on time, patient, informative and went over and above.
The day was long but absolutely amazing and definitely worth every penny.
We travelled in ford transit, and travelled through New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland Virginia to Washington DC took about 4 hours each way.
Paz made a stop half way on way and way back where you can toilet break, get food and drink.
Washington its self was amazing you’ll love it. But wear walking boots as there is walking involved and Arlington is a bit hilly but there’s benches.
We finished the day at Union Station after getting some food at approx. 4pm.
On the way back we took a different route and went over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge which was amazing as the sun was setting 👌.
Paz made an unexpected stop in The Heights where you saw the most amazing view at night of Manhattan skyline. This was truly an amazing end to an amazing day.
We were also fortunate to have a great group 👌
Thank you for a great day!

This is a great tour. We had an amazing time in Washington DC and their guide was fantastic. The guide was very informative and she was able to keep all of us engage for hours with her stories and a great history lesson. We will highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the capital as they manage to get all the sites within one day. Its a great trip for the hole family.
This is a fast trip so you will be in a bit of a rush but that was ok for us since we just wanted to get a chance to see it all and for that, this was a great choice for us.
btw the White House is smaller than you think.

We had a very enjoyable, interesting and informative day in the company of Steve our tour guide. Pick up was stress free and as described and it was nice to settle in to the comfy bus (which had a toilet) with great views on a rainy New York morning. After several days of non stop walking around NY, we had been looking forward to be able to relax and allow someone else to take the reigns. Steve gave a lot of useful info and then gave us peace to enjoy the views through New Jersey until our first comfort and coffee stop at a service station in Wilmington, Delaware 2hrs into the 4hr trip to our destination (we loved the Cinnabon bun with pecans). I took the opportunity to buy fridge magnets. We stopped here again on the way back in the evening.
Our first stop was at Arlington National Cemetery. The weather had improved and we had a lovely warm and sunny day ahead. There were toilets available there if needed. We visited the grave site of JFK etc al. Steve was very well informed and a font of knowledge.
Next up was Washington DC. Views from the bus were great and included the pentagon. First stop was Jefferson Memorial (toilets and snack van available if you're quick) . Then the Lincoln memorial and memorials to Korean and Vietnam wars. Again toilets available. Lots of great photo opportunities at all the stops. I wish I'd watched Forrest Gump before I left as I kept thinking of him at the Mall! Steve somehow managed not to loose anyone. However we all had his mobile number to contact just in case which could be very useful if you get separated from the group.
Finally we visited the Capitol Building and then the White House. The bus parked pretty close to all sites. It was amazing to do all this in a few hours without having to worry about logistics.
Before the return to NY we stopped for food at Union Station. Just the usual fast food sort of outlets here in a food court.
Then we made our way back, taking a slightly different route which was interesting and we could see Philadelphia off in the distance at one point. I think we got back to the starting point around 9.15-9.30 in the evening. It was a long day that didn't feel like it and was superbly managed by Steve. Thanks also to our drivers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this day bus trip to Washington DC and hopefully you will also have Steve informing and entertaining you.

What a fabulous trip! An early start in NYC at 6.15AM. Alan our tour guide was excellent and prompt! We did encounter a hic up as our coach broke down 1 hour into our trip! Alan was cool as a cucumber and we were soon on our way as a recover coach picked us up and continued our journey!
Washington was delightful. All sights were seen and Alan was there to guide and provide details of all sights!
This tour gives you a taster of the sights of Washington as you will need to spend a couple of days if you want to explore all sights in detail.
As from the UK this was a fantastic trip and would recommend highly!

The trip was great. After starting at 6:30 a.m., we headed straight south. During the trip, our guide Allan told us lots of interesting facts, but also gave us time to relax. In Washington itself, the stops were made as announced. There we had enough time to take photos and look at the sights, even if the tours were on the ball. We were able to leave our personal belongings with our super reliable driver Carlos at that time.
It was also nice that Allan himself was very enthusiastic about everything he told us about. This made the tour even more interesting! There was also enough time for breaks. The highlight, however, was an extraordinary stop on the shore in New Jersey with a breathtaking view of the New York skyline at sunset. Thank you so much Allan for this opportunity! This moment was super special and unique.
We were dropped off at the starting point around 9 p.m.
In summary, a great trip and more than enough for a first impression!

Hi we are travelling to New York from uk on 12th of dec me an my daughter are interested in going on this trip how far is the pick up point from park avenue thanks
Written 29 November 2019
the pick up point is in times square which I believe to be a few blocks from park avenue but you can grab a cab it starts early we got there at 6am so traffic is not so bad that time in the morning. But not sure if they do other ick up or change points according to time of year etc. I do know that if weather is bad they ill cancel as not safe Washington is a 4-5hr drive and in Snow etc this would not be nice.
