    What to Expect
This guided tour of the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum ushers visitors through virtual exhibits, authentically restored tea ships, and traditional Boston museum exhibits. The tour provides the opportunity to participate in, explore, and learn about the people, events, and consequences that led up to the American Revolution—all in the order in which they occurred back in 1773. Get a sense of what life was like in 18th-century Boston.

This floating museum features actors in period dress, interactive exhibits, authentically restored tea ships and a gripping, multi-sensory documentary entitled “Let it Begin Here.” Meet the colonists, explore the ships and even dump tea overboard just as the Sons of Liberty did.

At the Meeting House, hear the story of the night of December 16, 1773, and get ready to dump tea alongside the patriots. There are two authentically restored tea ships—the Eleanor and the Beaver.

Inside the museum is a high-definition, 3D holographic at Griffin’s Wharf that makes visitors feel like they are on a Boston street in 1773. See the Robinson Half Chest, one of only two of the original tea chests that was dumped into the Boston Harbor that night.

The tour involves a dramatization of living in Boston at the time of the Tea Party. My wife thought this part of the tour was ok. For me, it was a nice change of pace from the other tours. Near the end of the tour,...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Boston Tea Party Museum. Based on some of the descriptions I thought it might be more of a kid’s activity, but the vast majority of the people who were there at the same time as us were adults...More

While the museum portion was informative, overall the tour was very long and over the top. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Good living museum for all ages (guides answer questions). Sad that hop on hop off is not allowed to stop closer. Excellent actors that engage the audience. Very educational. Unfortunately unable to read all displays outside before going inside.
