American History Tour: Cambridge, Lexington and Concord Day Trip from Boston
USD 56.00
Overview
Experience the best of greater Boston’s top attractions in one morning on this 4.5-hour guided American history tour around the neighboring towns of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord. Learn about the area’s role in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Ride along the historic Battle Road Trail, following the same path Paul Revere took on his legendary midnight ride in 1775.
What to Expect
Pick up is offered from select Boston hotels (or you may choose to meet us at the Transportation Building) in the morning for 4.5 hours of sightseeing in the neighboring towns of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord.

For the first part of the tour, head north over the Charles River and off to nearby Cambridge, home to two of the world’s most distinguished universities — Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Drive by historic Harvard Yard, not only the oldest part of the campus but also the center of its history. Also see Cambridge Common, a public park located near Harvard Square where General George Washington gathered troops during the American Revolutionary War.

Then in Lexington, visit Lexington Battle Green, the historic town common where the opening shots of the American Revolutionary War were fired.

The tour continues along Battle Road Trail between Lexington and Concord, which marks the path taken by British soldiers during the war. It is also the road Paul Revere took to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that “the British are coming” (although he didn’t shout the phrase as legend has it).

Finally, in Concord, see the homes of Louisa May Alcott, author of the classic novel Little Women, and essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Plus, stop by the Old North Bridge, a historic site in the Battle of Concord, the first day of battle in the Revolutionary War.

The tour ends with drop-off at the Transportation Building.

Sam I Am is THE BEST!

A tour guide either makes or breaks a tour. Many seem as if they are reciting dry facts from cue cards and that makes it hard to get into the tour. SAM is the best tour guide. He did his best from the start to...More
