Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- haamz110 contributionsAmazing Expedition of Arches and Canyonlands!!!There are not enough positive words to say about our experience with Navtec. Our guide, Marcia, was beyond knowledgeable about the area and was so amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier person to show us the ins and outs of the area. we saw so many amazing sites and our guide really took her time and allowed us to explore the area and showed us all of the things that are off of the beaten tourist path. She gave us so many ideas for the next time we come back for things we want to do and see. There were so many more things that I could say about our experience, but I will just leave it at excellent, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly, highly recommend!! And if you have the chance to request Marcia, you won’t regret it!Written 30 December 2024
- R5093HXdianac0 contributionsGotta see Moab UtahIf you want to see something beautiful stop and check out Moab Utah it is breath taking. Downtown has some really good restaurants also. There is a lot to do! It's a cool little tourist town. Hey we only live once really stop and check it out it's gorgeous!!Written 24 December 2024
- Lstpierre20120 contributionsSo worth it!!Amazing!!! So worth the extra money for a private tour!! We saw so many extras and got the inside scoop off the beaten path. LOVED IT!!Written 11 December 2024
- boristocrat0 contributionsNot quite what we expectedOur guide was rather abrupt. For example, when we got in the Jeep and asked why some rocks in the area were green, he said, "What do you mean, I only see red rocks." We mentioned we'd seen green rocks at Upheaval Dome. He just shrugged. We asked how much of the back area of Arches we'd see, mentioning that we'd done some of the more famous sights already. He said that there were only two areas that we hadn't seen ... anyway, we bailed.I'm sure much of it was spectacular. We just felt that we'd wanted to learn more about geology and history along with seeing plenty of sights that most people didn't get to see, so maybe we were on the wrong tour, our bad. I imagine that like most tours, different guides offer different experiences. But Arches is fantastic and based on most of the reviews, this tour is pleasing to most people.Written 21 November 2024
- elizabethmK1869GR0 contributionsHas to be on your bucket listProbably the most incredible views. The sunsets, sunrises, the gorgeous terrain. A must. We were there for days and it does not get old. The colors of everything around are just amazing.Written 12 November 2024
- kathleenr3690 contributionsWow! What a great day!Fantastic experience. Ron was our tour guide and went the distance to create a great day. Can't thank him enough. My advice, bottom line: Just do it. Pull the trigger and sign up. You'll be glad for it. I was traveling through with limited time in the Moab area so decided to rely on a tour to get the best experience for both Arches and Canyonlands. I would not have seen the incredible places Ron took us without being on that tour. All the tour guides do their best to provide great experiences. The full day tour that I purchased provides lunch, plenty of water refills and lots of good snacks. To have someone else do the driving and show you around while you focus on the sights and take all the pictures your camera can manage. Wear good walking/trail shoes, a hat, and bring your personal water bottle for refills.Written 3 November 2024
- jgould10050 contributionsGreat way to see the Arches. Wonderful guide! This was an amazing tour. Mike was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the way the formations were created. So friendly and did a great job! It was a unique way to see the Arches and we're so glad we did it! Highly recommend!!Written 2 November 2024

- MJBrockster0 contributionsIncredible Day on the White Rim Road!!My wife and I did this expedition in late October of 2024 and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, everything was perfect. I initially considered renting a 4x4 and driving the road myself. After taking the tour, I'm glad I let the professionals handle it. If you are not an experienced off-road driver, don't do it. Spend your time enjoying the ride and taking in the sights instead. Our guide Seth was friendly, a responsible and highly capable driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, a great conversationalist, and more than willing to take as many photos as we might request (hint: It was more than a few!). You will see so much on this tour and the day will just blow by. Some examples: 1. Petroglyphs 2. Jug Handle Arch 3. Thelma & Louise Point 4. Musselman Arch 5. Lathrop Canyon 6. White Rim Road 7. Shafer Trail Road There is SO much to see here, and all of it is beautiful. We took literally hundreds of photos. We even got lucky enough to run into a small group of Bighorn Sheep grazing just beside the road. Even the lunch was fantastic. We had a chicken wrap, which was cold and delicious, along with fruit and a small dessert, next to the Colorado River in Lathrop Canyon. Navtec is very mindful of safety and the needs of passengers. There were plenty of bathroom breaks, and snacks and water were readily available at all times. Our guide Seth was trained in remote medical emergency procedures, and the 4x4 was equipped with spare tire, medical kit and other emergency supplies should we need them (we didn't). We wrapped up the day with a drive up the Shafer Trail Road. You can see this road from the top down at the Canyonlands visitor center. It was a completely different experience driving up it. This tour was unquestionably a highlight of our trip to Arches and Canyonlands (and we had a LOT of great experiences). Navtec was highly professional and our guide Seth was exceptional. I cannot recommend this tour enough! MikeWritten 28 October 2024
- 56leahs0 contributionsMike was awesome!!!We had an incredible experience with Mike as our canyoneering guide! He was fantastic with our 6-year-old daughter, making her feel safe and excited throughout the adventure. His wealth of knowledge about the area added depth to the experience, and he was always focused on safety while ensuring we had a blast. Mike's fun personality made the day unforgettable for our family. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to explore canyoneering!Written 27 October 2024
- Darcy F0 contributionsGreat guide and great hidden viewsWe didn't know what to expect and it was AWESOME! Our diver and guide Andy was great! Very very knowledgeable about everything and had some really good BAD jokes. We were able to see some places that the average park goes doest get to see and the trail were full of exiting obstacles. If you want some real 4x4 experience and see some beautiful country highly recommend this company company. Want to come back and do Canyon Lands with them!Written 24 October 2024
- rlmptl0 contributionsbreathtaking. Go early to avoid crowdsExcellent, magnificent sites even mid October the only way to see this park is if you are at the entrance by 6 am in the dark so you can actually get in without waiting in a really long line up even with a booked spot. You can enter the park before 7 and after 4 without a booked spot. This is very expansive park and most of the arches are a fair hike in so be warned. there were a couple along the road but the scenery on the drive around the park was one spectacular view after another. This is a must see attractionWritten 23 October 2024
- billinb0st0n0 contributionsAwesome new vistasWe had gone to Island in the Sky with an audio tour the day before. This was even better. Driving into the back country over insanely rough roads opened up a vast wilderness of rock formations and grasslands we could never have seen on our own. Charlotte, our guide, was a great driver and a fount of information on geology, flora and fauna.Written 22 October 2024
- Coastal5774040 contributionsGreat trip through Canyonlands!Excellent tour with Seth! Off road trip to places we would never have seen on our own. Seth was very knowledgeable and told us all about the geology, stopped at multiple sites and took photos. Great experience!!Written 22 October 2024
- R5573HEsuea0 contributionsAwesome Tour!!We took the Canyonlands half day tour from Moab through Navtec Expeditions on 10/22/24. Our tour group size was 5 and Navtec provided pickup and drop off at our hotel. Our tour guide was Cody. Cody was an excellent tour guide! He was very personable, passionate, and knowledgeable of the history and facts of the Canyonlands area, as he spends personal time there as well as conducting tours. I highly recommend this tour for seeing the Canyonlands, as we took a back country route that provided unique perspective. The scenery was astounding and the overall experience very enjoyable. A memory maker!Written 22 October 2024

We went in September labor day weekend and this time of year the rapids are not near as intense we will say. Our guides will and keefe made it extremely interesting, just a couple of nice dudes with a lot of knowledge of the area, Keefe maybe a little too much! All in all I would say a very pleasant day on the water. You want to use these guys because they actually have a motor they put on the back in the dead spots and we went past tons of boats paddling that we're going to be hours getting back to the dock! Who needs that crap?

Brian took us down the Colorado River 100 mi during a white water rafting trip. He was very knowledgeable about the area, geology, and Pueblo community. I highly recommend this tour because you could do the rapids on the Colorado in one day. Other tours it would take four or more days. He was highly skilled with the motor and knew exactly how to time the rapids to get the most bang for our buck. If you want excitement on the river choose this company.

July 2021
I did this trip with 5 of my nieces and nephews, all adults. It was a 3 night / 4 day rafting trip in some unusually beastly hot early July weather. However, being on the river most of the day we had plenty of opportunities to float in the river or even just dunking our shirts in the river to keep reasonably comfortable. The stars at night were amazing! As for the service, the 2 guides were very helpful and informative, with a few hikes to see Indian ruins and art. On the last day motoring to the ramp we saw 3 different groups of desert Bighorn Sheep. The guides navigated the rapids nearly perfectly with a few bumps for fun. The meals they served were extremely good, to the delight especially of my nieces and nephews. I did a few other Navtec trips so I wasn't surprised by this actually.

We scheduled the full day 14 hour white water rafting trip three weeks in advance of July 15. They called four days before the trip and canceled, while we were already on the airplane because they wouldn’t profit enough. They asked us to move to different days for them to make more profit by us joining with larger groups. We could not do this due to other reservations in Moab that we could not cancel without penalty (Jeep rentals, zipline, ATV rental, etc). They would not offer any financial incentives to change to other rafting trips, other than a 5% discount on a two day trip that would cost twice as much. Not customer friendly. All about the profit. Not trustworthy with your money. No thanks. Go elsewhere.

We went on a two day rafting trip with Navtec in May 2022. The first day and overnight camping were fine. The guides were fine and lunch and dinner were very good.
The second day was supposed to be the highlight as we rafted 50 miles of the canyon over half of which was rapids. Most of the rapids were fairly tame but a few had the thrill factor we sought. We had booked a power boat so that we could complete the trip in two days rather than about 4 days if we were paddling. However it turned out that Navtec also had a second raft that was being rowed by a single guide coming down the river on the same day. This raft was part of a 5 day expedition but needed a safety boat to accompany them through the larger rapids. This is common practice that normally entails a safety boat to be added to their trip. Because numbers were low however, Navtec decided that our two boats should go down together. If we were two similar boats this would have been fine but we were in a 70hp boat while they were powered by a single oarsman. This was very frustrating as we would do a rapid and we would wait and wait and would sometimes spend half an hour on shore, sweating in our wetsuits. The stop/start nature of the the day made parts of it very tedious. Towards the end of the day we parted with the other boat as they set up camp for the night - but we still had two hours of flat water motoring to get through followed by a three hour journey home (arriving after 10pm).
I would advise anyone booking with Navtec to carefully check the finer details of what is being provided. We have tried to engage with them but they seem unable to grasp the concept of why pairing us with a rowing boat should have been communicated to us in advance and how that made some parts of it an unpleasant but expensive experience.

was recently in Moab on a bachelor party trip and our last day was supposed to comprise of a rafting trip on the Colorado river. This was booked in advance. We were supposed to be rafting for 10 hours and then flying home in a Cessna. How cool would that be. Unfortunately we will never know.
The day before the trip, actually ~ 12 hours before, Ari called me and told me the raft was experiencing “mechanical difficulties”. I asked him what do we do now and he said “you don’t raft”.
We were never offered an alternative, never even offered an apology. I asked him what mechanical difficulties a raft can have and he said “I don’t know, I just work in the office”. He also refused to give me his superiors info or really the info of anyone who could answer simple questions. I had to call back multiple times to request the cancellation in writing. They were still sending updates at night like the trip was on even though we were told it was off. Every email coming like a dagger in the heart of an adventure seeker.
There are 2 possibilities here. Either they’re a company with 1 leaky raft or they lied about why the trip was canceled and offered nothing other than snarky comments and responses. Honestly, Ari was full of so much hot air, he probably could have blown up the raft himself.
We moved our flight for this trip. We planned the whole weekend around this trip. We bought and packed extra gear for this trip. Instead of braving the power of class 4 & 5 rapids, we spent our last day unsuccessfully searching for lot lizards and eating at a 24hr taco spot because who would of thought we’d need reservations somewhere, we were supposed to be rafting and flying.
I wasn’t even going to go out of my way to write a review but what do you know- I got an email tonight asking “how my trip was”. Well guys, here’s how it was. I hope you patch your dingy and avoid screwing over your future customers.

We were able to float 100 miles of the Colorado River and go through the white water rapids in 1 day. Our guide, Brian, was knowledgeable, funny, and most of all highly skilled. Brian made sure we learned about the area and the culture while having a thrilling, but safe ride. The one negative was the cost of the trip increased by $200 per person in a very short period of time. Also, the communication was duplicate numerous times and the updated communication did not have updated information. It was a long, cold day ending with a 2 and 1/2 hour ride back to Moab, but worth it all in the end. We had a float to remember for a lifetime. Thanks Brian!

My daughter and I had an amazing day on the river with our guides (Josh & Austin). We felt very safe but it was still exciting, I was very impressed with our guides rafting capabilities. They were very friendly and outgoing, and also prepared a great lunch& brunch on the river. Everyone we spoke with, from planning our adventure to the ride home from the airport was friendly and helpful. We chose to take the small engine flight back which was great views and very convenient after long day. We had a great time and would definitely recommend Navtec Expeditions.

I have done the one-day Cataract Canyon trip several times in the past with Navtec and have always had a riot! This was the first time with my wife and kids and I would not consider entrusting them to anyone other than Navtec. Best white water in the country during peak runoff, beautiful scenery, indian ruins, the very best guides, and a gorgeous flight home over Canyonlands. This trip really does have it all. If you are thinking of doing a trip down Cataract Canyon, this one should be at the top of your list!

This trip was incredible. Such an exciting day with awesome guides. If you’re looking for an exhilarating white water experience you should absolutely do Cataract Canyon with NAVTEC.
Rapids were big and fun. Brian was our guide and we had a blast with him (although all guides are great)
Also recommend flying back with Redtail. Beautiful flight.
