My sisters and I had so much fun on the Yosemite and giant sequoia tour. Denise, our tour guide was knowledgeable and efficient. She took in consideration our safety and honored what we paid for even with a minor time set back caused by some other people in our group not returning at the appropriate time. Being a San Francisco native, Denise was able to give us not only the background history of California, but current events and also recommendations from literature to best restaurants in the area. She drove that bus like her life depended on it! We felt safe and in good hands, so glad I didn’t take that on myself. I highly recommend it! And pray you get Denise!!

Excellent scenery and great visit. All the positives and negative such as not very good bus, it small, no bathrooms, etc. Our guide that has so many fans maybe because she speaks to people from many parts of the world and they don't know American history or should I say revisionist Denis history. She recreated our native American history suggesting the native American willing gave up there language to assimilate with "new" Americans. She needs to stick to the script and stop spitting her PERSONAL opinion about California's water, wildfires etc, where she acquired her "facts" from nameless articles she claims to have read and of course YouTube videos. Her yapping took away from my enjoyment and I wore my headphones to drown her out. She told 2 Italian women the condensed history of olive oil of CA and its "best" which is fine but it's OPINION and Denis is not an expert. It's seems clear she passes her opinion off as facts and presents it to our visitors to this country

Thanks for your review even though it is difficult to hear that you did not enjoy the Denise's commentary. As you apparently saw, she has hundreds of glowing reviews for she manages her Yosemite tour. You're right, many come from all over the country and the world to experience other cultures and opinions that differ from their own. It's one of the things that makes travel so alluring. I'm sorry it did hit the right notes for you. We don't ask our guides to stick to a "script" so please contact our office our Satisfaction Guarantee and we'll do our best to make things right.

Denise the bus driver was excellent. She made the trip enjoyable and lively. Her energy level was the same from the start to the end of the trip. Her knowledge about the area was admirable. We would love to go on another trio with her as our guide
The tour operator, extranomical were inefficient. They gave us a wrong pickup time and when we confirmed and had the time in the text, we got an automated response confirming the same. On the day of the tour, we were texting them a question and then they were saying that our tour leaves in 45 minutes and they made a mistake. This was at 5:30 am and the family was still asleep. We all scrambled and got ready and made the bus. The tour operator booked us a Uber ride to the changed pickup location. This was a plus. This definitely was not a great start to the trip. I would think twice about booking with this tour operator.

This tour was one on our bucket list. My husband and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary since we couldn't do much of a honeymoon last year due to Covid. We are so so glad we did this tour. And our tour guide, Denise, was an added bonus! Simply put, Denise was top notch!! She is so sweet as a person, so knowledgeable and very passionate and skilled at what she does. We could not have had a better tour guide I don't think. This trip is an all day tour from sun up until sun down. So layer up, wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and pack a bag full of water and healthy snacks. From the beginning of the trip, Denise set the expectations for the day. She introduced herself and advised of safety measures and things we could expect for the trip. She explained the importance of safety and staying on schedule to make the most of the trip so do your best to follow her instruction. She kept us safe the entire length of the trip so trust and have confidence in her. Now for the trip, as we left San Francisco to head to Yosemite, she talked about fun facts and historical sights the majority of the way there. Personally, this helped to distract my mind from the lengthy journey up there. When we arrived to see the sequoias, she explained the rugged trek to walk down to see them. It is not a walk for the faint of heart so be sure you can get back up at an incline from the walk down. I'm not in shape right now and I was able to do it so just pace yourself and take short breaks as needed and drink water. Many people were not able to do it so listen to your body. We saw El Cap, Half Dome, Yosemite Valley and more. Denise gave us ideas on picture taking and helped us take photos too. She didn't have to do that so this was such a bonus. She was interactive with each guest and continuously ensured everyone's safety and involvement. She showed us the beautiful waterfalls as we passed by them and the few we could stop long enough to see. She has many stories about many of them that she shared. She stopped for us to see the mountain climbers and explained how Yosemite has a way of healing people. I didn't understand that until after the experience we had at Yosemite. It is all completely majestic and just so spectacular all around. Every moment was breathtaking and so serene. This is definitely a trip that heals the mind, body and soul. We absolutely loved this trip and would love to do it again and again! Thank you Denise for making this trip one for the books! We will forever have and treasure these memories!! And if we are able to do it again, we hope to have Denise again or someone who can match her skills!!

Our tour guide Ross was amazing. He was full of knowledge and passed on really interesting facts about the city, towns we passed on the way to Yosemite and Yosemite itself. He was very funny and was making us all laugh the entire way to the park which meant the drive didn’t feel like 4 hours at all.

Roman was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! He was very kind, humorous, and thoughtful. He made multiple extra stops because we were doing good on time and didn’t hit traffic. He helped us take prime pictures as well. The tour bus was comfortable and we felt like we had plenty of time for exploring on our own. You are able to keep belongings on the bus securely, so if you’re debating on a blanket or pillow for comfort, do it. Overall 10/10!

My only complaint was feeling rushed but I expected it would be that way; a lot to see in a single day! Denise was an awesome guide. I really appreciate that she told us how to make the most of our time and always kept us informed of what was next and how long (like bathroom and food stops 😁). She knows a little about EVERYTHING! Loved how she ended the tour talking about rock climbers on El Capitan and then showed the documentary on the way back to the city.

Despite the long day, Ross made this a fantastic trip, giving us loads of information on the drive into the park and getting the timing perfect to let us get through everything but not feel rushed.

We almost had a tree come down on us in Tuolumne Grove which got the heart racing, saw climbers on the wall of El Capitan, saw a stellar bluejay and got the money shot down Tunnel View. And to top it all off, despite the early start, we were back at our hotel before 20:00.

I’d thoroughly recommend this tour. It was an amazing day out with lots of good memories (and photos).

We had to email Extranomical a couple of times prior to our tour day, and they were wonderful about getting back to us quickly. They were very organized. We had one tour place (different company) cancel on us 14 hours prior to leaving, and wanted to be assured that we'd get a tour before we left San Francisco. Extranomical assured us that they rarely cancel. The pick up was easy, and right when they said it would be. They sent an email the day before the tour confirming exact time and place for pick up.

The tour was great. Weather was beautiful. Sights were amazing. The hike to see the Sequoias was pretty steep on the way back to the bus, but it was nice to hike after the long bus ride. Stopping to get food at the grocery store on the way there and back was nice also. You can also get food in Yosemite Valley, but it was pretty crowded and lines can be long this time of year. Our tour guide drove the bus and gave the tour, so he seemed a little tired which is expected, but he was a good tour guide and gave us a lot of cool history and facts about Yosemite and the surrounding areas. Our only complaint was not being able to stay longer and see more sights, but being only one long day trip-we knew that coming in, and it was great. Definitely will go back to spend more time in Yosemite sometime!

The majesty of Yosemite is breath-taking. We went on a sunny 55 degrees March 2. It had snowed the day before so unfortunately we could not do the Toulumne sequoia grove; however the tour guide more than made up for it by taking us to Bridal Veil Falls, giving us an extra last stop at Valley View, and extra lunch time at Yosemite Falls which is central to other places like Yosemite Village and a great view of the Merced River with Half Dome and other excellent photo ops. Those were just extra stops in addition to the planned stops which were of course also postcard/screensaver -worthy (ie: El Capitan, etc)!

The tour guide , Denise, was phenomenal . She gave great geo-political facts when appropriate and was silent when you are most tired at the end of the tour from all the walking. The bus is comfortable and has charging ports at each seat for your phone. Denise stopped at a great grocery store on the way to & back from Yosemite that was delicious so we could stock up on snacks, lunch, and even dinner. It’s a mixed group on the bus from college students to retired folks to everything in between and from all over the world so no need to feel like this is a cheesy tour your grandma might have taken back in the day.

It was our first time to Yosemite and we were not excited about doing the driving ourselves so to have Denise do all the very safe driving (twists & turns at 6000 ft) for us AND provide endless helpful hints made for the perfect day in Yosemite.
