    What to Expect
Visit: Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear, 839 N 11th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233-1401

The Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear is housed in a historic 1869 residence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The house holds an extensive collection of artifacts from Mr. Avrum Chudnow who acquired over 300,000 items from his family's businesses, included a scrap yard, and collecting throughout the U.S.. These artifacts now make up the exhibits of the museum. The museum features shops, workplaces, and home life as they would have appeared in the 1920's and 1930's.

Along with the extensive artifact collection, the museum also features various documentaries in the museum's theater, which has a large projection screen and authentic 1930's Milwaukee theater chairs set in a composite replica of several Milwaukee picture palaces. Special events are hosted throughout the year and are detailed on the website: www.chudnowmuseum.org

Guided tours are offered at no additional charge.

Had a wonderful time at the Chudnow! So many artifacts to marvel over (everything from a washing machine from the 1930's, to an antique hairdryer to a fully furnished speakeasy!) and a delightful, well-informed tourguide. We spent more time there than expected (about an hour...More

I'm so glad I found this place and took my grandkids, ages 10 & 11. They had an absolute ball and I enjoyed watching their amazement and hearing all their oohing and aahing. So educational and fun. They learned so much about so many things....More

We’ve seen the museum on TripAdvisor and on TV, and it appeared interesting. When we visited, there were a handful of other visitors but Josh was still able to answer questions plus give more information. The museum is a 150 year old house with each...More

Interesting mix of historical items and a glimpse of what life was like in the early 1900's. Staff is very pleasant, friendly and informative. The general store has interesting packaging, information and pricing from the time. The building is 150 years old today (7/28/19). Cute...More

Yes, a prepurchase doesn't seem necessary. I would call ahead if you have a large group just to let them know, especially if you would like a personal tour. And I do suggest you get the tour. Too much to see and hear... More
