Cape Reinga Half-Day Tour Including Scenic Flight
USD 286.30
Overview
Soar above the rugged natural beauty of Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach on a small-group tour from Paihia that combines scenic flights with sightseeing on the ground. Flying to Cape Reinga is a spectacular way to see remote areas of the Bay of Islands, and the driving tour features the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, Te Paki quicksand, Tapotupotu Bay swimming, giant sand dune surfing, and morning tea with fresh pastries.
What to Expect
Get picked up at your Paihia accommodations for transfer to the airport, then soar over Ninety Mile Beach and the Bay of Islands on the beautiful flight to Cape Reinga. Once you touch down, begin a 2.5-hour minibus tour of Cape Reinga highlights, starting with the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, which marks the spot where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean.

Pause for morning tea with fresh-baked pastries, then take a walk on the beach—and maybe a quick dip—at Tapotupotu Bay. Next, head to Te Paki to surf the giant sand dunes and see the quicksand streams.

Following the Cape Reinga tour, board the plane again for the scenic return flight to Paihia, which takes in remote Parengarenga Harbour and Great Exhibition Bay, where you see dazzling white silica dunes and spectacular coastline.

This Cape Reinga excursion concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Paihia.

Worth the money !

This was a fabulous way to see the Cape Reinga and 90 mile beach. We took off from Keri Keri airport in a plane that held about 8 passengers. We had terrific views of the coast line, the rolling hills and farmlands that you would...More

You cover a lot in half a day

We had an 8 seater (including the pilot Brendon) plane and the seats are quite tight. Commentary was good throughout the flight point out things of interest, including 90 mile beach (SPOILER: It's not actually 90 miles long, but it is very long). Once landed...More
