Overview
Monument Valley draws nearly half a million visitors every year to its famous rock formations along the Utah and Arizona border. Hear the geologic history and ancient mythology behind these formations on a guided 1.5-hour tour of Valley Loop Drive, stopping at the Valley’s most famous landmarks and overlooks.
What to Expect
Make your way to the View Hotel in Monument Valley Tribal Park 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. (entrance fee not included). Meet your guide and your group for a prompt departure down the 17-mile (25 kilometer) Valley Loop Drive on this Viator Exclusive tour.

Listen to guided commentary about Monument Valley en route to its most famous landmarks, including stops at the so-called “John Ford’s Point” where many of John Wayne’s classic western movies were filmed, the Totem Pole, Yei Bi Cheii, and North Window, which offers views of the West and East Mittens. Only on a guided tour will you hear the stories behind these attractions, save your car from the infamously pitted roads, and leave your eyes free to roam.

At the end of the drive, return to your departure point.
