Fort Worth is where the West begins, and nothing embodies Western heritage better than the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, every inch of the Stockyards tells the true history of Texas’s famous livestock industry.

      Hometown tourism
We are locals who were looking for something new to do besides our usual meetup for dinner and drinks. Our guide Annie was animated and taught us quite a lot about our home town and its history. Next time we have out of town visitors, we’ll book another tour.

      Informative and fun!
My husband has lived here all his life, 61 years, and I’ve been here 40 years, so we were amazed at all the information that was given to us that we didn’t know. Annie’s great personality mixed with fun and history was awesome. Great birthday event for my husband!

      Amazing tour
I’ve lived in DFW for most of life and I has no idea the history of the stock yards. This tour was so much fun; everything from the booze to the bars to the lovey tour guide. Lexie exceeded my expectations

Drink and Laugh Your Way Through a FW Stockyards History Lesson
The way the tour was organized was a perfect blend of history and humor and each story flowed and fit very well with each stop along the tour. Lexie was an exceptional tour guide and my experience was full of good beers/ciders, great history, funny asides, and exceptional company.

This was a fun way to learn about the history of the Stockyards. We had a small group so I felt like we had a chance to interact frequently with our guide "Big Tom" (aka "The BEST"!)
His knowledge of the local history and his ability to weave it into the overall US history at the time, all while telling GREAT stories, was amazing.
We had a blast and enjoyed meeting the others on our tour.
Highly recommend for those interested in history and checking out the local saloons!

I had a wonderful experience on this trip/crawl of the stockyard Pubs on the afternoon Friday March 23. The crawl started promptly at 3pm with Annie the guide, who had a bevy of historical data and information to share with us all participants. The pubs were really popular one's with live events and great service of beer, cocktails and food. Annie was very detailed oriented and meticulous about the history of the area, about the characters that frequented them in the 19th and 20th century that went into the notoriety hall of fame. Fort Worth area has a unique history of people and events that make up what Texas and Fort Worth has to be proud of. The pubs/bars had their own history to tell, one of them being the White Elephant has a very interesting background that Annie can tell you in this 2+ hours long event. I highly recommend this tour to whosoever has interest in knowing more about Fort Worth and can spare an afternoon with Annie's splendid knowledge-base to share with all.

Fantastic pub crawl! Annie was my pub tour guide and I was impressed and enthralled each step of the way. In Annie's own words it was "like drunk history but the opposite." Annie brought the stories and history to life with her story telling abilities and all the bars were great stops to see what the Stock Yards were all about. 1000% would recommend.

Had a great time at the Fort Worth Historic Stockyards pub crawl. Our tour guide Annie was the best and super engaging with the group. We did an early tour the first day we arrived and found that to be a great way to get acquainted with the Stockyards. Enjoyed the uniqueness of each of the different stops along the way-definitely recommend this tour

    What a missed opportunity.

We went to 4 bars that we could have just stumbled on ourselves. There was nothing noteworthy about any of them. I would have liked some background about why the bar was special and made the tour.

The tour consisted of entering a bar, getting a drink, and then gathering around the guide for a history lesson about the old west. The guide shouted this history lesson over the din of the music in the bar, with an iPad for visuals.

The information about the statue we gathered in front of for the start of the tour was interesting. After that it really was not very interesting. Some of the information shared at each bar was about: cattle drives, cowboys (their clothing’s use and origin), the Longhorn steer, the importance of bringing the railroad, the red light district (which is not at the stockyards), what the 6 Flags over Texas are…. We already knew all this, and if you didn’t then you could have just read about it.

Next time we will just walk around ourselves.

Hello Amy, Bobby Heaney, the owner of Fort Worth Crawling here. Thank you for crawling with us. I am sorry you did not enjoy your time on the crawl. We always want each guest leaving our tours satisfied and feeling they had a 5 Star time. We try to make clear in the event description that on the Cowboy Pub Crawl you will be learning everything Wild West including the history of cattle drives, railroads, Longhorns, and all other aspects of historic Texas that we share. And next time we’re happy to share a bit more context on why we pick the bars (all of which are always open to the public as well). Thanks!

My husband and I decided to do the Fort Worth Crawling Tour kind of last minute as part of our anniversary celebration. We had no idea what to expect, but we so much fun!
Our guide "Big Tom" was awesome - friendly, engaging, and a real live historian. He had so many fun facts about Fort Worth and the cowboy way of life.
The tour had four bar stops total, and Big Tom had lots to share about each. We had a fun group of five couples, and everyone was friendly and included in the conversation!
    Highly recommended!

The tour/pub crawl was quite informative and lots of fun for our group. Our guide, Annie, was very knowledgeable about Ft. Worth history and also guided us in choosing beers which fit our personal tastes during the four stops on the tour. At each location, she related history, facts, and anecdotes while we enjoyed our beer. We really enjoyed our time with her! It is a great way to spend several hours absorbing both the history and flavor of old Ft Worth as well as enjoying the beverages along the way. Highly recommend!!!
