Must Do Experience! Spectacular Views, Professional Team
Highly recommend to fly with Global Ballooning Australia with the buffet breakfast option. It was an amazing experience and I’d definitely fly with them again to try out the flight over Melbourne City.

Views we’re spectacular onboard the ballon and both Brian our pilot and Theo our transfer driver had very thorough knowledge of the region. The scenery overlooking Yarra Valley was amazing, along with the experience to assist with setting up and packing down the hot air balloon.

With the early start time, I’d recommend choosing to add the buffet breakfast w. Sparkling wine option as it also included coffee and tea.

For those that like to plan ahead.

Day Prior to Flight
Confirmation and details were sent the night before the flight around 6:30pm,

Day of Flight
Transfer pick up was around 4:30am (Approx. 1h drive). 6am we began setting up, with lift off around 7am (1h flight) and landing around 8am. Pack down around 8:30am and transferred to Balgownie Estate for buffet breakfast (English breakfast style with sparkling wine, coffee & tea), finishing around 10am which Theo drive us back to our city accommodation.

We were supposed to attend a balloon flight for my daughter’s birthday, which was unfortunately cancelled due to weather factors. We were able to rebook for 2 days later. The staff member that we dealt with over the phone to change this was very helpful in advising us of an appropriate future booking.

When we arrived on the day, six balloons were launched in our group. It was well organised and both ground staff and pilots gave us confidence that everything was under control and they had a wealth of experience. They joked and made fun, but it was evident that they knew what they were doing. Our driver was Nick and our pilot was Eddie.

Although it was cloudy, it added an interesting element to our photos as we passed in and out of the clouds.

The balloon could take up to 24 passengers, but we only had 16 people on board, which made it comfortable.

I recommend taking a hat, as the heat from the flame is quite warm, long pants and good walking shoes as you may land in a paddock & a jacket as the mornings can be cold.

We chose not to do the breakfast package, but when we arrived back to Balgowrie Estate, we were quite hungry & bought a buffet breakfast package anyway.

Sunday Sunrise Balloon Flight

AMAZING! This was my second flight with Global Ballooning and I highly recommend both the flight over Melbourne city and Yarra Valley with this company. My first flight was was piloted by Kif and the second flight by his son Eddie! The crew were super organised and quite entertaining. I felt safe and confident in the abilities of the pilot at all times. The views were spectacular and we particularly enjoyed floating through the layer of clouds to see the sunrise above them. I can't wait to go up again - of course with Global Ballooning.

Absolutely fantastic experience! All the staff where very friendly and helpful and it was great to be able to help out with the setting up and packing up of the balloon.
The flight itself was so amazingly smooth and it was spectacular seeing another dozen balloons all around us.
We would highly recommend Global Ballooning to anyone looking for a wonderful experience.

A wonderful Sunday morning

Wow! What an amazing experience we had this morning on our hot air balloon flight. If I could rate higher than five stars I would! Our pilot for our flight was Brian and he was just amazing and made the experience so much fun whilst also making us feel like we were in such safe hands. I really enjoyed how we were able to be involved with setting up and packing down the balloon as it made it such a hands-on experience. The views were also amazing and breaking through the clouds to see the sunrise took my breath away. The buffet breakfast was also delicious. I would highly recommend this experience through Global Ballooning - I cannot speak highly enough of the team and the whole experience!

Finally, we got our once in a lifetime experience

An absolutely AMAZING experience that I will never ever forget, once we eventually managed to pick a day the flight wasn’t cancelled. Be aware it may take a few bookings until you actually get onto a flight due to weather it took us 4 tries. Putting all this aside the whole experience was brilliant and the staff could not have been any better, constantly making funny comments and keeping the ride enjoyable the whole time. Would 100% recommend this experience and company.

What a wonderful special morning. Global Ballooning Australia was extremely friendly as well as professional and our pilot Georgia made us all feel welcome and safe as we travelled gracefully over the Yarra Valley. We had the breakfast afterwards which was extremely scrumptious, especially the coffee 🙂.
I would highly recommend travelling the skies with this company and are looking forward to doing another flight in either Mansfield or Melbourne City.

Get on board this wonderful experience

The most amazing experience I have ever done.
We were very lucky to have a beautiful morning amid all the uncertain weather.
From the very start of the morning to the end was fantastic the global ballooning family made everyone feel very safe, confident and they were professional in every aspect.
If you think the height will scare you as did I throw away all those worries as it is the most peaceful, calm wonderful flight.
Our pilot Sans explained everything in a calm manner and landing was perfect.
I recommend for you to jump on board with Global and have an experience of a lifetime oh and also the champagne breakfast at Balgownie Estate Yarra Valley was omg yum.
You should consider staying at Balgownie Estate as did most of the couples we were with as ease of getting up without having to worry about buses or time you just stroll down to the meet point at the given time and after breakfast just stroll back up and enjoy your day from then.

Hot air ballooning excitement

Amazing experience that was on our bucket list for awhile and definitely lived up to the hype! Our pilot was Brian, and he provided an excellent experience, pointing out local landmarks and cracking jokes. The communication from the office beforehand was excellent and the app to complete waivers and get information was simple to use. We would certainly recommend this experience to others!
