About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- antoniomB2467MD0 contributionsOkay tour to go on a boatIt was a ok tour to go in a nice day, bur not sure what this tour has of “luxury’ as the title says, they only provide basic tea, and anything extra you had to pay. We only saw 2 dolphins swimming bay, and the seals were to far to see them. Just think this tour as a nice ride on a boat that’s it.Written 10 March 2025
- mellita p0 contributionsAmazing experienceBased on what is on the booking site, the company met everything they promised. We had an awesome time and were able to see many dolphins swimming underneath us and from afar. Absolutely loved the seals, they are really chilled and swam around us. We were lucky that the water was really clear on the day we went, but cold!! If you choose this trip, be sure you are chilled and flexible. There is nothing the tour operator can do but unfortunately, there are always ignorant pushy tourists and they certainly messed the toilets. I would also suggest accepting a pool noodle when swimming with the seals. I am a competent swimmer and have snorkeled before however I found having the noodle allowed me to enjoy the wonder of the seals without worrying about swimming. Also take 2 towels and warm clothes as the water was freezing so was good to warm up afterwards. We had a lovely young girl Tilley explain everything and she was amazing and very clear and concise with instructions. Again, we had a great time and were lucky with dolphins. Don't hold it against the company if there are none, bad weather etc, go with an open mind. We loved it and will go again.Written 26 February 2025
- Tanya C0 contributionsAmazing Experience – Highly Recommend! Our family had an absolutely fantastic time on this dolphin sightseeing cruise! From start to finish, the experience was enjoyable and well-organized. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and informative, sharing interesting facts about the marine life and making sure everyone had a great time. We were lucky enough to see multiple pods of dolphins playing in the water, which was an incredible sight, and we even spotted some seals! The whole experience was breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a better outing. If you’re looking for a fun and memorable adventure, we highly recommend this cruise!Written 6 February 2025
- G5480GIsharond0 contributionsUnprofessional and tour cut shortI would not recommend this company. Firstly the crew hadnt received any info about my daughter and I requesting plant based meals while on board, so the young guy had to scrounge around trying to find something for us. Secondly there was no team leader amongst the crew so communication wasnt great in regards to what was happening during the tour. Thirdly we were lucky to be out there for 2 and a half hours, defs not 3, maybe the staff couldnt be bothered as this would have been the 2nd tour for the day. If youre after something professionally run I would look elsewhere. I thought the owner Tori would have contacted me to apologise for overlooking our meals, but no nothing!Written 2 February 2025
- gillianrP8444MQ0 contributionsScenic cruise on MoonrakerWhat a fabulous trip! We saw so many dolphins, views were amazing and it was so lovely and relaxing being out on the water. Shout out to the excellent crew, thankyou ❤️Written 29 December 2024
- bronwenb1500 contributionsEven if you don't get to see it all, this is still a great experienceOnce we got past the confusion about my booking due to poor communication, it was good. Moonraker had canceled the 2-hour afternoon swim with seals tour for Saturday, which was supposed to start at 3:30pm and upgraded me to the 3-hour dolphin and seals swim that same day at 1pm. Unfortunately, this change was not clearly communicated to me, with an email showing 2 different start times. When I called them that morning to sort it out, I realized we would not be able to make the 2-hour drive in time for the 1pm tour. They offered the Sunday tour for me, which worked out. The diving suit was challenging to get on, and I felt very constricted, but I was told it should loosen up once in the water, which it did. They also brought an extra suit on board the boat just in case. The boat was comfortable and well-equipped. The staff was friendly and provided clear instructions. We attempted to slide in the water with the dolphins on 5 different instances and I never managed to see the dolphins. I did however manage to swallow much of the seawater. Visibility wasn't too good, which I think may have played a factor. I did see the dolphins a few times while sightseeing on the boat. I had a more positive experience with the seals swim. Although after being advised by the crew that we shouldn't get too close to the structure that the seals were lounging on as they have been known to go potty over the side, I didn't get close enough to see much for the first half of the swim. I did get to see the graceful stingray gliding across the sea floor. Then, I found my spot, near where the seals were diving into the water and I just stayed floating, allowing them to swim up and around me. They were so curious! It was a wonderful experience. The sandwiches and banana bread that were served for lunch were very good. I had seconds of banana bread. They also have a hot shower and a nicely appointed washroom available for guests. You can also purchase photos and videos that the crew takes in the water for a nominal fee. I recommend this tour.Written 24 December 2024
- delectabled20240 contributionsGreat experience well worth the money. Great service, nice boat and the inclusions make it a great experienceI traveled with two friends and we absolutely love this tour. The staff were really lovely and really helpful and the boat was awesome, lots of space, toilets one had a shower to rinse off and there’s a cafe/bar where you can buy snacks if you need, although lunch is included! They had lots of new wetsuits and as it was October the water and air was cold so they had thermal jackets for over our wetsuits. I thought this was a great tour and we really had a good time. Value, fun and we got what we paid for plus more.Written 10 October 2024
- Joann B0 contributionsComfortable way to see marine life and our environmentOverall a beautiful day out on Port Phillip Bay. We did see dolphins, seals and various birds at Pope Marine Park. Boat arrived late, as in 30 minutes, despite us getting numerous messages to be there at 11.45am.Written 5 March 2024

- brenlouflan0 contributionsSightseeing? Ha Ha HaWe were told it was a sightseeing tour of the bay. Nearly $400 later, we sat in the boat near some seals and watched the others snorkeling. Totally boring trip and a financial rip off!Written 17 December 2023
- marcelsF9614IJ0 contributionsGreat experience!!This was a really cool trip with super nice employees that are willing to answer questions. Sadly I couldn't swim with Dolphins because they were too shy that day but we still saw a few. They also have really good new looking wet suits they keep you really warm.Written 4 December 2023
- nicosfriend0 contributionsDolphins and SealsThis was one of the most amazing experiences I had so far! Even though our close up encounter with the dolphins was only like 5 seconds - we saw a lot of them from afar, but they seemed to be hunting for fish and not interested in us. However, we went to a little island with seals and they swam with us and got super close! There was even a baby seal. The water was pretty chilly (~13°C in October) - the wetsuits keep you warm underwater but we were freezing afterwards. Totally worth it though!Written 7 November 2023
- 210belindac0 contributionsLoads of dolphins and sealsMy daughter and I sail regularly on wildlife tours, and as Peninsula locals, we both love Moonraker. We’ve been on a variety of boats, and this vessel is big, clean, and provides awesome visibility. The crew were all equally friendly, and excited to show us the local marine life. We loved our tour, and would highly recommend.Written 23 April 2023

- isabelsI5827HE0 contributionsOkTrip was ok. More about other things than actual seeing dolphins. Even though we had a thick wetsuit it was freezing especially after getting back to the boat and waiting another 20min to get to the next spot.Written 25 March 2023

I took mum out as part of the tour for her 60th bday and she loved it! So it was a great tour.
The staff were all very friendly and happy to help anyone who needed it, in the water or on the boat.
Would highly recommend booking directly with the company, the timings were a bit messed up booking with a agency, but otherwise a great day out

We went on the seal swim which was absolutly amazing! They take rather small groups for this activity (I think maximum 12) and you get to spend lots of time in the water with the seals.
If you've snorkeld before and can freedive a bit (I'm not too good at it personally) some seals will get happily excited and dance around you and maybe even jump out of the water for you!
I got so super excited that I went a bit too far away from the Group, but they were super friendly about getting me to swim back.
On the way back we even saw dolphins :)
We did another dolphin tour earlier this week in Queenscliff and looking back I thought this one was so much better, because you spend more time in the water with the seals and the Group is much smaller.
If you have time and can swim, do it! I know everybody gets more excited about the dolphins, but trust me, the seals will be the Highlight of your vacation! 😍
Thanks so much again for this beautiful morning and special thanks to Christeen for beeing so patient with me!

My partner and I were so lucky to not just swim with the seals but also see tons of dolphins swimming by on our boat ride back to Sorrento! We were very sceptical about booking this tour and if we would really see anything. Wow were we proven wrong. We were told seeing this many dolphins was so rare. So glad we booked this trip. The staff were friendly, cheerful, humorous and lovely to be around. Thank you again!

I was looking forward to this activity very much but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. We were told to arrive 30 minutes early which we did. The boat and crew didn’t arrive until 11 straight off the back of the morning group. They then did a very chaotic job of giving us the wetsuits and flippers. We didn’t leave until 11:30 an - a half hour late.
Seeing the seals and swimming right near them was very cool. We also saw a huge sting ray!
Unfortunately my snorkel gear was a bit worse for wear and the seal around my eyes was loose and kept leaking. I got back on the boat to get a replacement. The snorkel leaked and I inhaled a bunch of water. Back on the boat. My partner by that point came to find me and gave me his snorkel which worked. Then I had to swim across the strong current to get back to where I had been with the seals.
I think we were in the water for maybe 20-30 minutes half of which I was on the boat refitting the old snorkel equipment.
If you go - bring your own snorkel gear that you know fits you! Other people did and it was the right idea.
We arrived back at the pier right on 1pm. So overall it was not two hours but 1.5 hours which was very disappointing as I paid for 2.
