Go Ride A Wave Anglesea - SUP
Our instructor was Joel and he was excellent. This was a first time experience for both myself and my friend and we had a great time. Joel was patient, helpful and shared many stories of his experiences with this activity. Even before we commenced our SUP all of the staff we encountered in the shop/office were friendly and couldn't assist us enough. I highly recommend the Go Ride a Wave staff, especially Joel and this activity.

      Great family experience
We booked the 3days lesson package for our children and myself. We were all starting from scratch and managed after the course to stand on the board and surf our first waves. Very friendly team, very well organised, cleaned facilities with warm shower and well maintained equipment.

      Lots of fun
Stand up Paddleboarding - my kids were the only one in their class and had a ball! Nice safe river area without being boring. I have told my kids that if they get their swimming skills up a fair bit, next year I'll buy them surfing lessons (it's incentive, not bribary!).

      Anglesea SUP
Joined instructor Dean for a stand up paddleboarding lesson. Was fortunate to be the only one booked in so it was a very personalised lesson. We took off down the river at Anglesea which winds its way around the town through some great bush land. Overall a trip of 4.5km paddling. Great fun and Dean was a great guide and teacher.

Zen and the art of SUP
We spent a beautiful afternoon learning how to SUP on the Anglesea River with a fabulous guide. Under her patient tutelage we got the basics down and were quickly cruising down the river looking out for wildlife. Reading our mood perfectly, she suggested we spend a few moments drifting gently, listening to the river sounds. Highly recommended, a fabulously relaxing experience!

      Great SUP experience
Our family did the stand up paddle boarding skills lesson in Angelsea with Chelsea. Two adults and two children had an awesome time paddling up the river. Chelsea was great and even towed our daughter back upstream to get back to the start of the course. We really recommend this as a great family experience.

Well priced and a great activity
We hired some stand up paddle boards from them the service was great because they helped us and they were very friendly. There was no limit on where you could go in the river as well as 2 or 4 hour time limits the paddles were adjustable and they had the option to wear a life jacket if you wanted to. A great spot for a lot of fun

Sensational team and lots of fun!
I booked my 9-year-old daughter in for a couple of days out of school fun and the team at Go Rie a Wave didn't disappoint! Nathan, Lucy, and Xanda were all extremely personable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There is a genuine buzz around the place that left us smiling all day. Evelyn had the time of her life and the most exciting thing for her parents was the fact she came home exhausted and slept in the next morning!! I've already enquired about the school, holiday programs & will be booking in again as soon as they open up! A huge thanks for having fun, teaching her life skills, and keeping her safe!!

Great way to spend a couple of hours
Stand Up Paddle Boarding with Sara - this was so much fun. I was fortunate with the weather, it was sunny and warm, a perfect day. The online booking was easy and the communication with GRAW was great. Sara was brilliant - fun, patient and completely focused on ensuring that I got the most out of my lesson. This is a terrific organisation.

      Our new favourite thing
Mason, Tom, Ben and Lucy and the gang at 'Go ride a wave' are amazing. The focus and clarity at emparting knowledge is perfect and they're infectious love of the sport has seen me and my son Buster driving an hour and a half at least once a week for the last month and a bit. We're totally hooked. Not only were we both standing up after our first lesson., I even did a dodgy headstand on my board today. Can't recomend it more. Sam, Buster and Fox

      SUP Lesson
A friend and I took a Stand Up Paddle Board lesson with Go Ride a Wave yesterday. We were both complete beginners so thoroughly appreciated the care taken to talk us through what to expect, techniques and how to stand and get paddling as quickly as possible. Tom was so friendly, and really patient with us as he answered all our questions. It was all pretty amazing. Anglesea wetlands are so picturesque and there is no better way to see it than from the water. We saw delightful little fairywrens and loads of wildlife. I can’t recommend these lessons more highly, for a really great day out that is FUN, with beautiful scenery great value, and with invaluable skills gained.

My partner and I had a lesson in Wye River last week. While we didn't have a problem with the instructor, we find the class structure highly unacceptable for adult learners. The class should be divided into groups for children and groups for adults. The orientation is geared towards Q&A for children. Then in the water we are supposed to be waist deep. Waist deep for a 7 year old is very different than waist deep for an adult. As a result, the instructor was far away from us, spending much of the time with the children in the very shallow water. Considering that we paid $150 for two people and only got about 3 to 4 individual tips from the instructor over a 2 hour period, we find this highly unsatisfactory. While the price is higher for adults, the emphasis and priority of the class is clearly on the children.

I had my second lesson - first was last year - and was up and surfing straight away. Loved every minute of it. Jane, my instructor, was terrific and really understood the challenges of teaching a 40-something woman and helped me adjust what I was doing so I could enjoy the lesson and go on to surf by myself.
My kids have also learnt to surf with GRAW and I can highly recommend this to anyone from beginner to someone who just needs a refresher.

The idea of surfing had always appealed to us and Mum's school camps were instructed by Go Ride A Wide and their experiences were always great. Will, Dean & Fiona at Go Ride A Wave were all very supportive and constantly gave us assistance and feedback throughout the lesson. It was so much fun, 2 hours felt like 15 mins!
An awesome and memorable school holidays. We'll definitely be back!

Super friendly service, from when we entered the shop by the beach, all the way to the end. Had 2 instructors in the water with 6 learners.
Covered off safety and basics, before getting into the water for an hour. Then back on the beach for more technique, and another hour in the surf. The instructors were hugely supportive by providing encouragement and tips. Both spent the whole time in the surf so as to observe where we were going well (and wrong!).
Hot showers back at the shop, overall a fantastic experience!

My first exposure to SUP boarding and it was very enjoyable. Nathan organised the booking and was very helpful, including changing the date when the weather turned bad. Equipment was all good.

Instructor Laura is a gem! I had a solo session with her and she gave great advice, was patient and fun. A great asset to the team and a lovely young lady.
By the end of the session I was quite comfortable and will be looking to do more riding on a regular basis.

I recommend this business for people wanting a great experience with water sports.

    Super fun and helpful classes!
We hadn't surfed before so did the 3 lesson package which was great as we could build on our skills each day. The instructors were really friendly and it was great to have different instructors each day to give us different pointers. We've already been out surfing by ourselves a couple of times since the lessons and have the confidence to keep learning thanks to the practice we had with the instructors. Thanks graw!!!

I was a little apprehensive undertaking a solo SUP lesson but I needn’t have been.
My instructor, my guide, my guru was Joel and I was so very fortunate to be paired with him. We paddled around the waterways of Anglesea and we chatted like two friends would, it was effortless and so much fun. I really cannot speak highly enough of Joel and his positive and nurturing demeanour.
I recommend a solo lesson, it was great to be able to have that one on one interaction and honestly, after a little while I could not call it a lesson at all as it was simply two people paddling around chatting and enjoying the experience, I shall be back in a few months for a one on one surf lesson, and I shall be requesting the Joel is my instructor!

Friendly instructors, a great balance of personalised advice and being able to get in as much practice as possible.
The process ran very smoothly from the start (booking online, etc) and as someone with absolutely no experience, it was super safe, as well as having people in the class with more experience. I'll be returning for sure
