    Fun and Retro
Very fun retro day out! The roller coaster was crazy fast and the Ferris wheel gives you great views. There are retro games and slides/activities. It wasn’t very busy when we went which was great. Would recommend for kids and people without kids.

    Far better things to do
Wasn’t terrible but was very very overpriced for what it was and was concerningly empty the whole duration we were there. On top of this you pretty much have to get a ferry there from near the opera house or surrounding area which takes around 15 mins each way, I would advise going to other places before here for sure and to only go here if you have plenty of time to kill or are in Sydney for over a week at least.

    Disappointed - YES!
Disappointed - YES! Headed to Luna Park to find only two rides operating! A ferris wheel and merry go round, not particularly exciting! We had checked the website first and did not see any reference to only two rides operating. Wandered around and left after about 20 minutes then had to pay $8.00 for a very disappointing experience - to get our car out of the car park. Need to up their game to ensure clear and obvious awareness on their website of what rides are operating.

Expensive, but a great day out for the kids
After reading the reviews here I wasnt quite sure what to expect, however we actually had a really good day today. We got there right on 10am opening and the kids (ages 4, 9 and 12) got loads of rides done straight away with either no wait or very small wait time. It rained around lunch time we sat inside and had snacks (took our own). I was surprised how much my 4 year old could do - I wasn't planning on getting him a ticket but as he was tall enough for the green band we did. The kids had a absolute ball. After lunch the wait times were a little longer, but they never waited more than 15 mins. We bought the arcade game pass online before we went for the kids (they got 6 goes each for $35 each). I feel it would have got expensive buying it as we went - the pass was a great way for them to see how many goes they had left. Overall yes it is expensive, but as a one off for the kids it was worth it. They had so many rides in 4 hours we were there. Plus won 1 giant stuffed toy and 3 smaller ones.

    Disappointing
Very disappointing as it’s probably too early in the season for a visit. Only two rides were open and a couple of carnival games.

Waste of time & ferry fare.
Didn't expect too much, but wanted ro visit a famous land mark. Don't bother yourself. Literally nothing going on. Small ferry's wheel was moving & a few sad side games. Walked in & saw everything within 5 mins including standing to look around in disappointment & read the parks history. Just missed the rtn ferry by 1 min, so wrote this review to save other people the disappointment.

    Disappointed.
Just went in to have a look before we walked across the Bridge. Place is impressive but we didn’t want to go on any rides except for the Ferris Wheel. Went to the ticket window to purchase a ticket but were told that the Ferris Wheel pass wasn’t available today, only the unlimited ride pass. Bit disappointed with this as there wasn’t any clear signage around stating this. Also think that the team talks that they have with staff before the park is opened is done out of earshot if customers as some of the things said wasn’t very customer freindly.

Luna Park - just for queuing
Come and queue. Buy your unlimited queue time pass. The operators of Luna Park have figured out the best way to maximise profit is to (legally) keep ride maintenance costs to a minimum, is to minimise use of the rides. How do you do that during opening hours? Easy, get everyone queuing. With no competition, they design their rides for slow loading/unloading. The rides are the attraction. But you’ll have fun if you like queuing. Clever strategy Luna Park. An (almost) invisible way to skim profit from us (sucker) customers

    Perfect place for family fun!
Brilliant theme park that felt really traditional! The park itself and the rides are traditional - we really loved them all and the views from the tops of the rollercoasters were absolutely breath-taking! If you want a fun, family night out making memories, this is the place to go!

Great fun for the family, but a bit expensive.
Luna Park Sydney is in a amazing location with great views from parts of the park. Entry is free, but tickets for rides/experiences can very quickly add up for a family. Plus side is you don't have to buy a ticket if you are just going to walk around or supervise. Some of the attractions were a bit dated, but the park is clean and well organised and staff are helpful. There are newer rides towards to back of the park. The canvas sack slides were a massive hit with my 9 year old. He could happily have spent the whole day there. We had a great family afternoon here. I recommended arriving late afternoon and staying once it gets dark so you can experience the park with all of the lights on.

Ripped off and hung out by dodgy t@c’s
Booked early for a small birthday of 4 kids. The weather was turning out to be heavy rain all weekend. I called and they said NO REFUNDS and $80 on top of ticket prices to change day. I waited to see if rain would hold out, but it didn’t and called the day before to upgrade to another day. They then said They couldn’t upgrade as I didn’t give 48hours notice but said because the weather very bad they would upgrade me for $100. After I use my very expensive tickets….never ever again.. AND the upgrade to a flexi pass only valid 90days…isn’t there a 5year law on vouchers now???? Scammers LUNA PARK SUCKS 😡

    Overpriced
Paid $182 to enter, there was only the Ferris wheel and carousel operating, the entry price included two rides. Carousel ride went around twice and ended. Still had to pay up to between $10 and $20 per game for a go on the clowns. Food overpriced. Never going back.

    Expensive, poor quality and cashless.
Small bottle of water, $5.50. Everything overpriced. Someone I spoke only had cash, so no fun for them. We’ll never be back.

Harbourside Fun Park - Free to Walk Through
It always surprises me that Luna Park exists where it does, right on the waterfront of Sydney Harbour, at the foot of the Harbour Bridge. The giant face which forms the entrance has been grinning its maniacal, kinda fun but kinda creepy, smile at Sydney-siders for decades. Built in 1935, the fun park has retained a retro feel which makes it nice to stroll through. However it’s best seen in the evening. What appears a bit shabby during the day, is transformed as the lights come on and turned into something a little magical. We recently caught the ferry from Circular Quay to Milsons Point at sunset and because we had a bit of time on our hands, we walked through the park. The ferry ride is only short and takes you right under the Harbour Bridge. It’s a lovely time of the day to be on the harbour and many photographers were lining the waterfront with their tripods and cameras set up to catch the stunning views. Entry is free, which I hadn’t realised before. Anyone can stroll through - you only pay if you’re doing rides or games. We didn’t have the time or inclination for either but if we did, the ferris wheel would have been my pick of the rides, for the view alone. It’s worth noting that it is cheaper to book online and in advance compared to buying tickets once you’re there.

    Gotta be patient and rich
It is kinda of ok on a Monday when it is not crowded, still a lot of times queuing up, quiet a few rides out of action/ broken down, the mirror tunnel was filthy, I did mention it to the staff and their answer was we do not get paid enough to care!!! Overall it is a very expensive exercise as it is very hard to get your money’s worth in rides Enjoy if you are patient and… rich

I look back fondly of hallowscream and the days where me and my family would go and have such an amazing time, hallowscream brought something different to the table in terms of Halloween which isn’t a widely celebrated holiday in Australia to start with, when we first went it was so much fun, so many activities to do like rides and haunted mazes similar to what they do in America like Halloween horror nights or something like that, but over the years it has definitely lost its touch , the pandemic not really helping the situation. The fact that I spent almost 300 dollars on tickets with half the rides being closed was definitely a disappointment. The haunted mazes were okay but with just three to do and the lines being a ridiculous wait for just a few precious moments of entertainment were really underwhelming. I don’t know if the tickets were capped but they definitely should’ve been, there were just way too many people at the show, and half the rides being closed didn’t help the situation at all as there is no where these extra amount of people can be distributed, making the lines horribly long and boring. Then there’s the costumes, me and my brother one year walked into the park with costumes and full face masks , but for some reason that’s not allowed anymore for identification purposes. If that’s the case, could the staff members or security just ask for people to take them off if they ever need to identify a person? Even so, people who arrive there are expected to show a form of identity anyways so why is it a big deal for people to wear a full face mask? It’s Halloween anyways lol. After not going for two years I really thought things would be good and even changed after the horror stories I heard from my family about having to take face make up off in the middle of the park for identification purposes. And things did change , but unfortunately for the worse. I now know this once amazing Halloween experience has been transformed into a rather boring standing in lines for hours on end for a few moments of entertainment and full of ridiculous rules and restrictions taking the fun out of what’s supposed to be an extremely fun event, and holiday. There was like one maze that was amazing, the live actors were also amazing as always. Aside from
That I think it’s safe to say hallowscream at Luna park has lost its flavour, and I surely won’t be going back there anymore. Hopefully there’s another Halloween themed event in Sydney that actually lets you wear costumes with masks but I highly doubt it.

Took grandchildren who had a fun day (hence 3 stars) and we enjoyed being with them but the park is tired, grubby and very expensive. As grandparents in our 70s we also had to purchase tickets @ $50/each! It is ridiculous that accompanying adults have to pay too. We managed a ride on the Ferris wheel but that was it! ( 1 star for that). We booked online where we read that drinks and food were not to be brought into Luna Park (read “captive audience”) and neither were backpacks. We paid $5.00 per bottle of water and paid double the price for icecreams. The meals of chicken and chips were disgusting with soggy chips and greasy unappetising chicken. There was not enough seating and we sat on the asphalt to eat. It was all take-away, the restaurant being closed (1 star).
Social distancing while waiting in queues was not enforced (0 stars).
There were not a lot of people there, considering it was school holidays but at least the kids didn’t have to queue for long.
The park is about to close for six months for the installation of some new rides.
Management needs to consider:
1) Free entry for accompanying adults who do not wish to, or are unable to, participate in the rides.
2) A major improvement in the food outlets with more outside and shaded seating.
3) Reconsider their pricing structure for food and drinks.
At a cost of over $500 for our family, it will be a long time before we consider returning.

Luna Park Sydney is one of those venues that can be a lot of fun and a great day out, but you do need to pick your times carefully and plan ahead. Firstly, booking online well in advance can save you a considerable amount on tickets (prices increase and max out in the 24 hours before the day you want to visit). Secondly, if you're not going to stay for at least 4-5 hours then don't bother because you probably won't get value out of your pass. Obviously, try to avoid weekends and public holidays because they don't cap entries, the place heaves with people and ride queues can be 30 minutes-plus. Cafe prices are extortionate so take your own food and drink. It's a decent attraction, not to the standard of the Gold Coast theme parks but there's enough to keep kids of most ages occupied.

We bought a full day package which came with the unlimited rides deal. The best part was the water slide at the pirates revenge. We all took twice the ride in that. We spend like a whole day trying on different rides. Ferris wheels gave a very pleasant view of the habour and the rides in the park. There's also costumed entertainments performed in between so the young ones can enjoy the show as well.

Just be mindful that some of the rides permit only closed shoes. I had to take out my slippers in two rides and could not ride in one due to this. The package is worth the money and I will highly recommend this to the young crowd travelling with friends.

Booked tickets through GroupOn before the pandemic. Due to the recent uptick of Covid-19 cases in Sydney, my family decided not to visit the park and risk infection. Luna Park refused to extend the ticket (and claimed they were not able to despite other businesses extending tickets on GroupOn) or provide a refund despite the impossibility of the situation, and to the best of my knowledge continue to take people's money despite the risk of being in an emerging Covid hot spot.

On previous visits to the park, waits are long and rides were tired and dated. A second rate side show complete with freak-ishly high prices. Snap your photo at the entrance and move on to something actually enjoyable.

Such an iconic spot but run badly by inexperienced staff, following extortionate polices.

I know covid has left many businesses struggling, but families are struggling too and the ticketing policy here is shameless price gouging.
You can’t purchase a ticket for just one or two rides; you have to pay $75 for a wristband. I was here from Melbourne for a mother/ daughter day, so I paid the $75 for my daughter (which was ultimately a waste of money as half the rides were not in operation).
We really wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel together but they wouldn’t sell me an individual ticket. The only way I could go on the ride with her, would be to pay an additional $75 for one ride!
If parents want to watch their kids on the slides in the big hall at the back, they have to pay $20 just to stand inside (or, staff suggested, watch through a window 😳). It was just bizarre.
There were a few lacklustre games and $35 show bags.

Beware also, they don’t accept cash at all. I have no idea how teenagers navigate a visit here unless they have a credit card.
Guest Relations staff were pleasant but had zero authority. I felt sorry for them. Management here need to undertake a serious review of the greedy inflexible ticketing and generally overpriced attractions.

We took the ferry from darling harbour and soaked in the amazing Sydney harbour views and as usual the never fail to amaze!! Easy entry into Luna park, walk in the gate and it's all there on your left and they run it quite efficiently so queues went quickly. My husband and cousin(11) had a fantastic time, so many rides, queues a light long but not to bad. My daughter (4) and I also had a good time but there really isn't much for this age group, we waited in long queues in the hot sun for a while to ride the Ferris wheel (which is spectacular, the views are awesome) and the kiddie rides at Coney island (there are about 6 carnival style rides) the carousel is lovely and the queue goes quite quickly. We had a great day but I wouldn't go again with a small child, I'd wait until my daughter is around 6-7 year old.

The views of this place from a distance and the view of the city while you are here (and the bridge) are spectacular. It's got old show/amusement park flare. Reminded me of going to a regional country show in the 90's. Some of the history here is incredible and when I went on some of the rides I felt like a kid again! Well worth a visit at least once! Let loose, laugh and have fun

It was fine and the kids had fun, but - as you can see from the comments below - the price is completely ridiculous. $280 for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 6). $75 per adult, $65 per kid. The total for all four of us was 19 rides. That's about $59 for a family of four to go on a ferris wheel... and another $59 for a 3 min bumper car ride, or a few minutes on a carousel.
My wife and I spent half the day seething at being ripped off at the cash register in front of our kids. We won't ever be going again.
