- CLSVA0 contributionsGreat fun! What a fun experience to kick off our trip in Chania. The hostess was really friendly, informative and helpful. The '3D' museum is a bit cheesy, but very fun to be silly and take some fun selfies and photos with the family. It was nice to get out of the sun, and be entertained. The movies they showed were really fun and definitely had a fun '9D' experience. We laughed and smiled through the whole thing, and certainly learned a lot about Crete and some Greek mythology during several of the movies. It was great fun and thought it was well worth the money for a fun treat.Written 10 April 2024

- ruthwT8361JO0 contributionsGreat funIncredible and highly enjoyable experience. Definitely very different to the usual West Cretan holiday activities. Educational and fun. An excellent way to spend an hour and break up the “culture “ for our two teenage boys. Would love to see the facility developed to more than just the cinema.Written 2 November 2022
- S M S0 contributionsBest for children - like going to a museum on a rollercoasterIf you are seriously interested in the archaeology of Crete, skip this and take a trip to Knossos. If you get a good tour guide, you will learn a good deal more than sitting on this 'experience'. Save your money and buy a good bottle of rakomelo!Written 2 October 2022

All the stuff, the lovely girl and the two gentlemen were awesome, fluent in English, with a generous smile and willing to answer all our questions. I had some concerns, I was a bit anxious because I ve never had a similar experience and they eased all my worries. The movie was great, full of history and the special effects were amazing.I highly recommend this place for the experience it offers and for the great stuff. We will go again!! This space offers a multidimensional projection of Cretan history and its legends. The images of the film are seen in three dimensions with the glasses they lend you when you enter and the seats have movement and some other effect is noticeable, which means that we receive stimuli continuously. To understand what they are telling us, upon entering the room they offer us headphones that tell us in our language what we see on the screen (at least they have headphones prepared for English and Spanish, which were the languages requested by those of us who entered the room. the session we saw).
Being like a cinema, the projections are made at specific times. We took one in advance online but we didn't arrive at the time we had because it took us a while to locate this place after we parked in a paid covered parking lot that is very close. What happened to us is that the native population does not know this room, so it took us longer than we thought to get to it, because when we asked the people and they did not know what to tell us, we were entertained by their good faith, since they were asking someone else. or they asked us for more information to know what we were referring to. When we arrived with the session we had booked already started, they offered us to move on to the next one and nothing else happened. We weren't the only ones in the room, but there weren't too many other people either.
The film tells us the mythological origin of the Minoan civilization and also its historical data, in a simple way that also reaches the little ones. Our 12-year-old son really enjoyed this activity and understood everything that the projection, which lasts about thirty minutes, explained to him.
In the room where you wait at the beginning of the film there are replicas of Minoan paintings or sculptures that we can photograph, among these pieces are the throne of Minos or the goddess of snakes. In total, our visit lasted just under an hour. The treatment of those who attended us was very friendly.
It is a recommended visit for those who go with children and for those who want to avoid the summer heat for a while if they go during these months.

Good fun
Very informative and fun to watch, the only down side was a group of children and adults where squeezed into our booking who screamed and shouted throughout.
There was no respect for others and the staff failed to take action to make the experience enjoyable for others.
I would recommend that before people enter they ask for respect for others while in the theatre.

Really worth the time, it took us a while to find it as a bit out of the way but very close to everything! Make sure you bring your covid vaccine proof as most booking sites don't mention this but the official website for the experience does and we took ours to be on the safe side and they asked for it. It is a very cool "ride" and it's not getting 5* only because the sound effects were a bit louder than the narrative so we couldn't hear as much as we would've like about this part of greek mythology/history...still will definitely recommend!

Went into the town to visit this museum after reading positive reviews. After arriving when it opened, we were told by the person on reception about the ticket options and then she told us someone would talk to us from inside the cinema. We went into the room (this was only us and was not done to the people in front or behind us) where a man proceeded to tell us that there was a maximum weight for the ride and that even though ‘they didn’t know what the maximum weight was’ we wouldn’t be able to sit in the seats and would have to sit on fold up chairs alongside the experience - (still paying full price for it).
As my partner and myself are neither very large, it seemed odd that they had only spoken to us about not fitting in the seats and basically presumed we were the maximum weight - he even said that we would ‘break the seat’ as they have a limit that they can’t go over. Obviously after seeing the reviews of this museum - where in the photos there are people bigger than us and with children on their laps in one seat, it seemed rude to isolate and embarass us about the cinema experience.
I understand that there might be regulations and rules about the seats, but this could have been done in a much more tactful manner rather than quite rudely and presumptuously as someone could have been very offended or upset by his manner if they had previous body image issues or medical issues related to weight. We decided that we were not going to pay (full price) to not even sit in the proper seats and when we said this, he did not seem bothered or offer a discount.
Overall, a disappointing experience and hopefully in the future they either make an age limit on the ride or give staff training on how to approach these topics sensitively.

We went as a family and the 3d museum is just a free statues in the lobby, not that great, the 9d cinema isn’t great either and if your a larger person I.e waste over 110cm or 120kgs in weight they make you sit on a chair at the side so you get the full experience I was under 110cm waste and 120kgs weight and was still made to sit on a chair. Never had this problem at the one in Rhodes so paid for a 9d experience and actually got a 1d experience not recommended at all if your on the slightly larger size. So very poor over all.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate your feedback but you should have dedicated 5 minutes before your visit to realise that Minoan's World is not suitable for you. We have all the neccesary information online.
Our movie is based on the myths and history of the Minoan civilisation! Unfortunately we are not Disneyland, we are a local, family business who try to show our history in a fun and different way.

I was told that I can't sit in the seat for the experience as I might be too big. When I showed the staff member that I could sit in the seat with no problem and not touching the sides, I was still told that I can sit in a stationary chair. They claim it's for safety, I've been to this type of 3D/9D experience before and have NEVER been told this and had no problems enjoying tge experience. This place was EMPTY, I was the only customer at the time so, to be harrassed over a seat... Beyond inappropriate and disrespectful. Waste of time.

Your safety is our utmost priority. As we explained at the reception (also available online), there is a limitation to the accessibility of the 9D seats due to the movement of the chairs. As an alternative, we offer foldable chairs without movement to ensure your safety.

Extremely poor animated video. Seats were slow and not timed correctly. The 3D it self didn’t work. Not worth the money. You will be asked to arrive fifteen mins before the movie, only to wait and take pictures of the tiny museum-which you also are not allowed to touch.

It's a really nice experience, you learn a few interesting things about the history and myths of Crete, the effects are OK. Unfortunately, the films are very short and really cheaply produced, nowadays more should be possible than pixelated graphics like in an old Tetris game.
Afterwards you can take 2-3 pictures in the anteroom and the half hour is over. All in all, for €18 per person, it's just way too expensive. I wouldn't recommend it, I'd say it's more for children.

Overpriced and uninspiring experience, please also bear in mind if you are of a larger size you will not be allowed to actually sit in the seats for the interactive cinema and will instead be charged full price but asked to sit at the end of the cinema row in a fold out chair. More than a tad embarrassing!! My teenage son was underwhelmed by the whole experience too. Not worth searching this place out in a back street in a quiet part of town like we did

This place was definitely overrated and over priced. The area that they have at the front: the so called museum, is nothing close to a museum. The experience of the 9D cinema was not something special as I have been to similar places worldwide which were much better (more details, more realistic). However children up to 15 years old could enjoy this place but still it is overpriced.

There is a difference between a museum (most common archeological) and a specialty 3D museum (meaning a photo-shooting of the 3D paintings and exhibits)
Our movie is based on the myths and history of the Minoan civilisation!
