Overview
The Charleston Ghost and Dungeon Walking tour is the only dungeon walking tour that has access to Provost Dungeon. Our experienced and fully licensed tour guides will take you on a 90-minute walking tour through not only the dungeon, but also the eerie, dark edges of Charleston’s Haunted Historic District as well as the Holy City’s streets of Charleston, cemeteries, back alleyways, and churches.
Highlights
  • Charleston haunted history and ghost tour
  • Includes entrance to the Provost Dungeon—not visited on many tours
  • Guide puts spooky twist on stories from Charleston's past
  • Fun way to see Charleston after dark
What to Expect
At nightfall, meet your guide at a central location in downtown Charleston to start your ghost tour. Walk straight to the Provost Dungeon, a pre-revolutionary cellar inside the Old Exchange building that is rumored to be haunted. As you tour the prison, learn the real story of the hundreds of captives held here during the American Revolution. Then, continue the rest of your tour down the cobblestone streets and back alleyways of one of the oldest cities in the United States. Your guide shares stories of haunted houses, ghosts, and Lowcountry superstitions that put a spooky twist on Charleston history. Tour concludes near original departure point.

Our tour guide Lisa was fantastic! Exceptionally polished but jovial and personal in her presentation. Ironically during our tour, the area where previous burial plots were unfortunately covered with a driveway and bank, the bank’s suction tube drive thru was activated! There was no one...More

Thanks so much for your review! Lisa is a phenomenal guide and great ambassador for Charleston. Oddly, what happened to y'all at the bank does happen on rare occasions with no logical explanation. Of course, as you mentioned there is a graveyard underneath the bank....More

This tour makes you want more! We can’t wait to book the jailhouse tour and the U.S.S. Yorktown tours! The only thing missing were cooperative ghosts. Our guide, Braxton was awesome and made it easy to hear his awesome stories. This is worth your time!More

Thanks so much for your review! We wish we coordinate a schedule with the spirits to show up on tours, but obviously that is out of our control. We simply can set the scene, allow for things to happen, and hope for the best. Thanks...More

Unfortunately we didn’t catch any orbs, but our tour with Adam was informative and fun. He told great stories that brought Charleston’s sordid history to life. This tour required a lot of walking, and Adam was thoughtful to realize that I was struggling to keep...More

Not sure if a five year old should hear the graphic accounts about what happened in the dungeon back in the day. So probably not appropriate.

Not a good idea .Walking on 250 to 300 yr or brick streets and streets paved with river rock might be considered dangerous.
