About
Charleston may be one of the most beautiful cities in America, but there is a deeper darker side to her. Come hear their stories, chilling tales of death, of lost love, of vengeance. Come hear the stories of the Dead that still walk our city streets; the chilling tales of the Shades and Shadows that haunt these stones. Walk with us and you may find, we're not walking alone.
We will share with you our in-depth knowledge of Charleston. There are so many fascinating and innovative people and events that have occurred on such a small little peninsula. Touring with Revolutionary Charleston you will see the City through the eyes of licensed tour guides that cherish Charleston for her beauty and her flaws.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lthorndyke1170 contributionsExcellent walking tour!We had a great experience with our guide, John. A native of Charleston, he was extremely knowledgeable about the history, architecture, culture, and people. He packed a lot into the 2 hour tour, but didn’t mention much at all about Charleston’s history related to slavery. We sought out the museums (African American Slave Market Museum and the International African American Museum) to learn about this part of Charleston’s history.Written 9 January 2025
- Flyingboy580 contributionsNice tourI was on the tour with Ben Five Stars. He moved the tour along and had some interesting stories. We went to 5 or 6 spots and it moved quickly and he had a sense of humor.Written 21 June 2024
- robinhT6333GO0 contributionsThe lost souls of Charleston. My wife and I were treated to the most entertaining and informative 1 and a half plus hour walking tours we have ever experienced. We were accompanied by our Pom Molly. Our guide was Paul Savageot who's humour, knowledge and gift for story telling were amazing and captivating. What I liked most was that our raconteur didn't just spin off a rehearsed spiel but developed a complete story line of who what when and where, replete with social and cultural insights of the time and place germain to the particular hauntings he was narrating. I came away not only entertained but informed as well. Thank you very much Paul for an evening that turned out to be above expectations.Written 29 May 2024

- adeaeth0 contributionsFun way to see CharlestonJohn (the good looking one) was a super engaging tour guide. He had intriguing (and very well-told) stories as well as a bonus story at the end of the tour. He found a way to connect with the group and came up with witty jokes on the spot. It was a great balance of learning history of Charleston and spookiness. John was also very knowledgeable and able to answer many questions about Charleston and the areas we were in, unrelated to the ghost tour.Written 20 September 2023

- Y4720AZch0 contributionsThrilling Night to Remember! For my first time visiting Charleston, my sister thought the idea of a ghost tour would be a fun way to learn a little history while simultaneously experiencing some Charleston charm. We weren't disappointed! John, our tour guide, was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Not only did he WOW us with spine tingling stories, he showed us how truly enriched in historical lore and legend Charleston truly is. We would highly recommend this tour with John as your guide. Thank you Rev.o.lu.tion.ar.y Charleston Ghost & Historic Walking tours for adding a little more thrill to our vacation.Written 16 June 2023

- DC2180 contributionsGreat Tour!My spouse and I participated in the ghost tour with Sara G. She was very knowledgeable and shared not only ghost stories but a lot of historical information in her tour, including tales about Gullah culture. Sara narrated the excursion with great enthusiasm, and showed a passion for local Charleston history and culture. We highly recommend attending the tour with Sara as she gives her heart to the experience.Written 13 November 2022

- Kim B0 contributionsMorbid Charleston Tour is FabulousWe took the Morbid Charleston Tour with Bri. It turned out to just be my husband and me on the tour. We chose this tour because it focused on the “dark side” of Charleston’s history, not ghost chasing or conjuring up evil spirits. It was perfect. Bri told us the legends and stories of Charleston. She was very entertaining and we had a great time spending our evening with her. My favorite tour of the trip!Written 12 November 2021

This tour was a complete letdown. The tour guide mumbled and trailed off when she talked so you caught maybe every 5th word. She also had no access to the cemeteries while it was clear other groups has access so we were just looking through gates most of the time. Would not recommend.

We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy yourself. Only one company has access to cemeteries in town, and that is grand-fathered in. Did you let your guide know? Hopefully we can make it right for you. Thank you for letting us know.
