      Highly recommend this tour
We visited the Amish Farm and House on October 25, 2024, 6 friends from NY. The house tours were very interesting. The tour guide did a great job of explaining the home of typical Amish family. We took also a bus tour with Cyndi, she was absolutely amazing. She shared a tons of information about Amish community with us. It was a pleasure to be on her bus. I would highly recommend this tour, especially bus tour with Cyndi.

      Well maintained farm and house
It’s a well maintained farm and house nestled right in the middle of busy streets. The narration inside the house is a quick 15-20 minutes thing. The farm with multiple petting animals is liked by my son and adults alike.

      Amish Tour with Tim
Our tour group from NC completed the tour with Tim from NC. He was absolutely amazing! He made us laugh, shared a lot of history, answered our questions, and took us to great places to view/interact with the Amish community. Exceptional job! Definitely ask for Tim.

The dinner tour is well worth the money.
Amish family dinner was great. Little bus tour on the way there, very knowledgeable and engaging driver. Dinner was nice and it was nice to see how the Amish really live. Bus tour was so good that despite the number of I’ve been here.. I’m thinking of taking it and getting more of the little known facts.

      Wonderful Goat Yoga Experience
Four of our family members took the Goat Yoga class and had such a great time! We got exercise while also had lots of laughs and snuggles with the baby goats. They were so darn cute! I highly recommend the class. I can’t wait to do it again in the future.

      Interesting visit
I went with a bus tour. We had Peggy. The house was very interesting, but there was another tour right behind us so I felt like they pushed us to go faster and we didn't get all our questions answered. They then brought us in the country to see Amish people, but once we came back we did not have time to visit the rest of the property. I did however get to run to the schoolhouse. It was so cute. Wish I was able to go to the covered bridge. This should be visited on your own to really enjoy the Amish land. It is worth a visit if you are interested in Amish people.

Request Tim Talley, and you won't be disappointed!
I brought a group of 40 adults and 5 teenagers from the Greensboro, NC area to Lancaster on a bus trip. We got Tim Talley as our step on tour guide, and he was terrific! Tim was very knowledgeable about the Amish people and their heritage, and was a 'hoot"!!! He was very funny, and had lots of cute jokes and stories! If you come to Lancaster, you can't go wrong, if you request Tim as your tour guide!

Outstanding way to lower your blood pressure and snuggle.
Love this activity! From the moment you sit down and begin gentle beginner hatha yoga, the little love bugs start jumping & climbing...on you! It's an absolute delight. Even my grumpy husband melted and said...his words...'enchanting'. And it truly is. Completely recommend!!!

      Great experience as a local
I visited with my boyfriend and my family. We all enjoyed the house tour and the self-guided tour of the grounds. All of the staff, volunteers and vendors we encountered were friendly and helpful. We learned a lot of new information during our visit even though we are local. I enjoyed seeing the animals, especially the sweet kitty.

Good Insight on the Amish Culture
We visited the end of March when farming resumed for the season. It was an insightful bus ride with Dale through the country side...there was no question he could not answer! It was interesting and unexpected to see how the Amish community is so co-mingled with the non-Amish.

      Making Memories
The Christmas Cookie Tour was very nice! My neice and I went on my sister Kathy's birthday to honor her. You see , my sister and I always baked our Christmas cookies together, and since her passing, my neice and I carry on the tradition. The driver of our bus was so informative! I thought I knew about the Amish..but I learned so much more. And it didn't feel like a history lesson..but more like a friend telling us a story. All the homes where very inviting and the cookies so good. We were able to bring home cookie samples , recipes and baked good too. I would recommend this trip to anyone! Treat yourself next Christmas!

      This Tour is Wonderful
Everything about this tour is fantastic. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming that I instantly felt at ease. Our bus driver Tim was nice, funny and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed meeting the Amish families who participated in this event. All of the Amish women and their children were welcoming and answered any questions we had. It was really nice to be able to enter their homes and get a glimpse into their lives. In addition to the cookie tour there was an Amish house tour and an Amish farm we could explore including an Amish school house. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning more about Amish culture. I hope to be able to make this a yearly event and bring some friends and family along with me to enjoy this experience.

The Amish Farm & House is a wonderful attraction to visit and learn about the rich culture and history of the Amish community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

My wife and I took part in the premier package offered by the Amish Farm & House. This package includes a 90 minute bus tour, where guests have the chance to view extensive Amish farmlands and the majestic country landscape of Lancaster County!!! The premier also includes a brief guided tour of an Amish homestead and self guided tour of an Amish Farm.

Both my wife and I very much enjoyed our premier package experience and definitely recommend that all visitors to Lancaster County head over and experience the same fun we had at the Amish Farm & House!!!

My family and I did the farm day. It was such a fun fall day! We loved interacting with the Amish. My 9 yr old wanted to take a horse and buggie ride. Our "driver" was so kind and went out of his way to make my son have a blast even let him take the reigns of the horse. I would recommend this for families or adults/couples. The apple cider tasting was also delicious! All of the animals on the farm loved people and wanted attention from everyone. It was a great day overall! If you want to learn more about the Amish then I would recommned doing a tour. We had a 9 yr old so we passed on the 90 minute bus ride and just bought the farm passes which was great for us they had many activities such as pumpkin chucking, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, hayride, visiting the Amish school house, corn maze, and food! We were there only 2 hours and actually wished we had maybe an additional hour.

Took a tour on Sunday December 6, 2020. Family with a 6 and 8 year old. First off, we took the tour knowing the Amish owned businesses would be closed on Sunday. Unfortunately that’s the day my wife and I were in town so we proceeded anyway. I was assured there would still be plenty to see, and the staff was right! We did the 11am bus tour around the countryside. The tips given on how to find an Amish house made a really fun game the rest of the day with the kids. All day long even after the tour they pointed out houses! The bus driver, was very friendly and informative. We were separated in the back of the bus from a family of four in the front, to be socially distant. The windows were cracked on the bus allowing for fresh air circulation. And the bus driver wore a mask pre-tour and a face shield while driving and talking. So those with Covid precaution concerns, be assured the staff did a great job and safety! The tour was fun. We saw many Amish buggies and homes, schools, as well as homes that Amish were gathered in for church services. The non stop narration of the land was informative and kept my young kids interested.
After the bus, we did the house tour. Not too many rooms to see in the house, but it was entertaining for my wife and I. Unfortunately by this time my kids were kinda done with the tour and just wanted to feed the animals. (Recommendation-if traveling with small kids and have to choose, do the bus tour, skip the house and go right to the farm)
We then used the self guided map to explore the farm and feed the animals. It was such a great time and the animals were so friendly and loved being fed and pet! Overall it was a great experience and we highly recommend!

Thanks so much for your review. This year has been something, to say the least but we try hard to promote a safe and sanitized visit and it is good to know that you appreciated all our efforts. We are glad that the kids enjoyed the bus tour and our farm. The farm property is a great place to relax and enjoy animals and fresh air. Please come back and visit before too long! Happy Holidays.

As my hubby and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary I surprised him with this tour and I am proud to say that there are no regrets. The tour was very informative, the staff was very knowledgeable and courteous, we enjoyed the experience we had while we were there. I love the Amish way of life and the focus they have on GOD. The office staff was very pleasant our tour guide David on bus 5 was very helpful, he spoke to us and even gave us recommended places to visit. The in-house guide Devon was also pleasant and the environment was very soothing and relaxing. The way you displayed the culture was fantastic anyone can tell that you take pride in being Amish. We even tried the chicken BBQ,delicious! My hubby said to me “honey you did good with this choice” 🙂 With this being said I will definitely recommend anyone wanting to learn about the Amish community to visit. I know I will again!🙂

House tour with Heidi as a guide was excellent. Walking outdoors on the site is also very pleasant. But doing the bus tour on a Sunday is not recommended - all the normal stops to local shops to enjoy amish products simply don't happen as everything is closed on that day. Even at the House site where normally on week days you would see some artisans (blacksmith, etc), no staff was around to have some interactions with visitors. For the bus ride, you then end up with a trip on the country side for an hour and a half without stopping to enjoy local shops - not great, and the booking does not appear to explain the difference in the experience (and the price remains the same...). They should be more upfront as it looks like a tourist trap.

I was disappointed in the tour. I did it a long time ago, and remembered it as being fun and informative. I feel like all we did was stop at arts and crafts stores and food places. When I booked the trip, the order form said that masks would be required for bus tours (ten people and a driver in a closed bus? Makes perfect sense!) but when I checked the ticket, I was horrified to see that masks were no longer required. So there we sat on a packed bus, surrounded by strangers, none of whom wore a mask. Even the driver was unmasked—-until HE went into a store himself! It was impossible to relax and I actually felt unsafe!

We are sorry that you had a less than perfect visit. However please note that we follow the state health guidelines and Pennsylvania does not have a mask mandate any longer, as of June 29, 2021. It was stated in your confirmation letter. We have left the decision up to each individual and their comfort level. Most of our visitors are wearing masks, especially in the last month. Thank you and be well.

I really enjoyed the entire experience, but my favorite was the bus trip around Amish country. The Bus Tour Guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. And your food was very delicious!

I was a bit disappointed with the Amish House tour for a few reasons -- first the House had a feeling of being staged. Secondly, having the coffin sitting in one of the bedrooms was a bit unsettling. Maybe there is a more appropriate place in the house or grounds for it to be sitting. And last, Lena, our House Tour Guide was not very knowledgeable of Amish life and traditions and her presentation was very boring.

So happy to hear you enjoyed the bus tour and touring Amish Country! Seeing the beautiful countryside and stopping at Amish stores is so much fun. We don't understand your comment about the house tour being staged. The house was built in 1805, and the last Amish family that lived here was in 1955. Our decor and room set up is the same way the Amish family would've left it, authentic and true. There is no longer an Amish family living here and that is why our farmhouse is now a museum. We understand your concerns about the coffin being in the boy's bedroom. This is set up as an educational purpose to teach our guests about the end of life for the Amish. Lena has been a tour guide with us for over 15 years. She is by far the most qualified tour guide on our staff. She has many personal relationships with Amish and is a native to Lancaster County. We've never once questioned Lena's knowledge of the Amish.

What a wonderful experience! The farm is clean, and easy to explore. We loved both the house tour and bus tour.

Our bus tour guide, Lisa made our experience extra special. She explained Amish history, and the Amish way of life with enthusiasm! Lisa answered all our questions. We certainly learned a lot and she even pointed out a camel herd that was out feeding on our tour.

We stopped at two places with no pressure to buy anything. We met some Amish selling reasonable handmade items We also paid for delish warm pretzels.

The enjoyed the farm animals. My son loved feeding them! The blacksmith, scooters, buggy rides and BBQ were not open on the day that we visited. So, I would plan ahead next time and check the website for events .
Despite, those things not available, we had a great time!

Thank you for writing such a detailed review of our tours, especially as we navigate our "new normal". Lisa is a fantastic tour guide as you wrote, we are so lucky to have her! Learning about the Amish from a local is the best way to do it. You're so lucky to have seen the camels, they are so cute aren't they? Making stops at Amish-owned businesses is a wonderful addition to the bus tour. We are happy you tried a buttery soft pretzel. Spending time with our farm animals is everyone's favorite! The Amish scooters, Amish school, corn maze, covered bridge and outbuildings are open every day of the week. Our Blacksmith, Chicken BBQ and other artisans only work select days of the week.

Tour bus driver had a lot of energy and knowledge of the Amish community. She was very encouraging for any questions and participation. Bus size was pleasantly smaller than I thought it would be and seating was spaced out (COVID precautions) which was appreciated. Farm had a good amount of sights and photo opps. The scooter activity was one of my groups favorite activity. Pretzels and tea from the farm was delicious and savory. We made many stops on our bus tour for food and souvenirs but there was also plenty at the farm too. Would reccommend to anyone to visit!

The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They really are concerned about the people they serve. I am in a wheelchair and was very impressed with the level of care and attention that I received on the bus tour.
In addition, Lisa, the driver / tour guide, was very knowledgeable and personable. She not only gave us information about the Amish, but she also made sure that all of us on her bus had fun too. She is very good at her job.
The phone staff was pleasant and caring as well.
Although we did not do the other parts of the tour because of the weather and because of my limited mobility, we thoroughly enjoyed our bus tour and would highly recommend it to others. Thank you so much!
