About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Martin Emanuel S0 contributionsWould do again as very relaxingSlightly disappointing to see whales from 300m distance only as there were two mothers and their calves; captain didn’t make to wffort to look for a male at the entrance of the bayWritten 1 October 2024
- mdh9690 contributionsWhale watching tour5 of us went out on the whale watching cruise on 21 September. We had booked the afternoon tour. It was quite windy and we weren’t sure if we would see any whales. The morning trip had sighted some whales in the distance but not close up. Luckily we sighted lots of whales and had a great time. The staff were fantastic and made the trip lots of fun. Would definitely recommend 👍Written 21 September 2024
- 552rodneyw0 contributionsWas looking to buy a season ticket…..won’t buy any ticketTook my wife on a whale watching cruise yesterday afternoon. Had done the same only a couple of weeks earlier with a friend. That trip was on the larger vessel. To our dismay, given the weather conditions being exceptionally windy and with a fair swell we were going on the smaller craft. In hindsight my wife and I should have not gone. Our mistake. So why the poor rating. We were late leaving, captain joked about more OT! Then after we left we turned back to pick up a couple whom were late. The wet weather coats were removed from the seats where we sat. Due to the chop and high wind we had to track around the edge of the bay taking a very long time to get to where the whale watching happens. On a tight turn in the bay the wind ripped the boats cover which meant having to wait for it to be tied down with mooring rope as a temporary repair. Whilst out of the bay we did see a couple of whales but never got close enough as per my previous trip. The swell was significant with white horses making spotting the whales difficult. The journey back was torturous as we and most others were drenched. In my opinion we should have been offered the opportunity for a credit, not refund for a more suitable day. But alas no offer was made available. The vessel was full as the earlier trip cancelled. I did raise this at reception on our return but was duly informed in the T&Cs they reserve the right to switch boats. My issue was for $150, the whole experience was unpleasant with time wasted departing, returning and having to tack our way through the choppy waters. To cap it off, the crew member joked as we got back, they have to out again for another trip! Says it all. I do not think we were in any danger or increased risk, the vessel was very stable and capable.Written 4 September 2024
- Jeff P0 contributionsWhales in two hours!Out and back in two hours! The boat was fast and stable amazing how quick we were outside Jervis bay and on the"whale highway". Skipper and crew were clear with the few instructions, and knowledgeable. Yes we saw whales breaching and slapping as they migrated. A fantastic experience done in two hours.Written 31 August 2024
- onkars7860 contributionsGood experience.Okay experience. Didn't get the chance to see dolphins jumping out of the water but saw them from very close in the water.Written 24 August 2024
- Stanoska0 contributionsNo dolphin for you!Our family adventure to see the Jervis Bay dolphins was a 90-minute cold and windy maritime endurance test. Sadly we didn't see dolphins this time. obviously nothing the pleasant crew could do about this. There are no consolation prizes here; it's just a pat on the back and a “better luck next time” kind of vibe.Written 19 July 2024
- Brenton E0 contributionsFamily holidayThe staff were amazing and helped with our children as well as talking to us about the whales and answering any questions we had during the cruise. The kids were able to learn about how fast they travel and why they travel etc. Thank you so much for an amazing experience.Written 10 July 2024
- lulubell820 contributionsWhale & seal snorkel AMAZING!Did the whale & seal snorkel, such a great experience! First started with a snorkel through a cave, saw loads of whales but unfortunately they didn’t want to play today & then headed off to swim with the seals which was such an incredible experience! They were plentiful and playful. The swells were big, the water was fresh but we felt well looked after & learnt a lot about the area & the whales & seals. We will be back for sure, such an awesome day & well looked after by Alan & Morgs, thank you!Written 9 July 2024

- N9728OTannaw0 contributionsExcellent day outWe had an excellent time. Saw many whales and even seals, the weather was great and the ocean not too rough. 2 whales came right up close to the boat, it was an incredible experience. The crew were knowledgeable and very helpful, the captain provided a good commentary.Written 30 June 2024
- mirandadH836JN0 contributionsBad experienceAbsoloutely awful. The trip was only supposed to go for an hour but we ended out at sea for about 3 hours. Very poor conditions to be looking at dolphins. Didn't end up seeing any dolphins either which is very dissapointed. Lots of people got sick and was overall not worth my money at all.Written 3 June 2024
- Opalite-explorer0 contributionsHighly recommend this cruiseFrom the time we booked to the actual cruise, the staff were so helpful and nothing was an issue for them. Being in a wheelchair, I was a little hesitant but they made us welcome, we boarded first, ramps were placed to allow access to the outside deck area plus they had a fully accessible toilet aboard. The staff ensured I was able to see wildlife along with everyone else. Everyone’s safety was a priority. The staff were courteous and engaging. We had a brilliant trip and I’d definitely do it again. Highly recommend this company.Written 24 May 2024
- janetdV7735IS0 contributionsDolphins galore!Excellent! The crew were friendly and knowledgeable. The captain knew where to look for the dolphins and we found them in large numbers. I've done three dolphin cruises in various places in Australia and this is by far the best.Written 9 May 2024
- J9884DXkimw0 contributionsFamily scenic cruiseVery nice conditions in the bay meant it was calm and not windy. Unfortunately the dolphins where probably outside they bay as we didn’t see any this time. There is a bar onboard too and you can swim off the back on a net. Hope to see dolphins next time. Kids loved the experience of being on their first cruise.Written 25 April 2024

We booked a Jervis Bay Passage tour for our family the night before it was due to run, totalling $185. When we turned up to the Jetty the next morning we told all the cruises for the day had been combined on a 'Combined Three Tour' (this included the dolphin cruise and net cruise) as there was not enough people booked on the Jervis Bay Passage Tour. The total cost of booking the dolphin cruise would have been $92. Speaking with other passengers on the cruise that had booked over the phone we discovered Jervis Bay Wild had decided to combine the cruises at least a full day previously, yet they continued to let us book online paying double the price required. We booked in good faith online (as suggested by their advertising) and ended up paying twice the amount. Having asked for refund in the price difference we were fobbed off by three staff untill we were told someone would call us the next day to sort it out. No call was forthcoming. In short DO NOT BOOK ONLINE, call and find out what cruises are running and how much you actually need to pay. Better still try the other cruise company at the jetty. We are giving two stars as the boat crew were friendly and professional.

This is the best of the options on offer and for good reason. Kevin and Chloe looked after us and offered great commentary - the sights were some of the best coastline on offer in NSW. Kevin got the boat into some unbelievable natural sights and Chloe even spotted a Sun Fish on the journey - a real treat. On the trip we saw dolphins, penguins, seals and the sun fish.
If you are in Jervis Bay this is a must!
Great value for money. 2.5 hours plus.
Take a spray jacket or jacket with you, can get a bit cold when the boat is at speed.

We booked our tour as a spur of the moment thing. It ended up being the highlight of our trip. The crew were fantastic, positioning the boat to get the best possible view of passing whales. The caves were a bonus - the style of boat meant we could get in close. Kevin was informative and obviously committed to giving the passengers the best experience possible. Great value. Will never forget the sound of a whale expelling air. Awesome.

The Jervis Bay Passage Tour was the highlight of our trip. Kenny is an outstanding skipper, he is highly skilled and managed to get us close to the spectacular scenery. Kenny and Richard are a fabulous team and their commentary was knowledgeable and very entertaining.
As we had perfect weather conditions we were able to cruise along the coastline taking in the towering cliffs above, it was breathtaking scenery and such an adrenaline rush.
Can’t thank Kenny and Richard enough, it was such an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Our expectations were far exceeded!! There was nothing on this tour that I would change. The team were friendly and the facilities of the vessel were immaculate. We had only just left the dock when we were met by a large pod of dolphins who frolicked and journeyed with us. They were so close as they positioned themselves near the front of the boat that we could see their eyes. They frequently turned on their sides so they could see what was going on. What amazing animals! We journeyed around the Bay and saw the beautiful waters, beaches and landmarks of Jervis Bay. The Captain gave commentary when needed but then the team were readily available on deck to answer specific questions too. This was certainly the highlight of our trip. I could have easily stayed onboard for the afternoon cruise too. Miraculously we had a pod of pilot whales surround us. All up we had multiple encounters with dolphins, whales and birdlife.

I'm sorry to only give this tour 3 stars but this is a tour which can never have 100% 5 stars because to do that they would have to be able to control the weather. The booking process was easy. The skipper was a very likeable chap. The only problem was that we only got half a tour. We started out with lovely fine weather, but it changed and got very windy half way through. I guess they hoped it would hold but it didn't and it was too dangerous to continue, so we had to turn and head back before seeing the parts of the tour we really wanted to see - Point Perpendicular, the tubes and the pancake stacks etc.... That is all in the terms and conditions, so you just have to accept it. However, I was a bit miffed that we were just told that it might get a bit rough. We should have been told if we had cameras and phones out to put them away under cover because we took a drenching - it was like jet boating with waves crashing over the side of the (very open) boat and we got soaked. Fortunately I had the foresight to bring a towel and spray jackets... not everyone did. There should definitely be a warning on the website to come prepared to get wet and if heading into rough water the skipper should tell people to get prepared for that. He could see people had expensive cameras out taking photos and potentially they could have been ruined. In retrospect it would have been better to cancel the trip and refund everyone rather than half a trip - I'm not sure whether they had any idea that a change was on the way or not so perhaps that was not possible.

Nice staff when booking, cafe whilst waiting for the cruise, good clean boat, friendly and knowledgeable crew.
Commentary and good detail/history about the area and beaches. Really good tour.
Passage tour boat was undercover from the Sun however you may get splashed in choppy conditions.
Sit at the front if you wish to stay dry, at the back if you want to get wet.

Yet again such a wonderful experience! We have been on many Jervis Bay Wild Cruises over the years, and the experience continues to be simply breathtaking each time. Henry, our skipper and tour guide, was brilliant, with his true Aussie sense of humour, he’s so knowledgeable and informative making the morning tour extra special for us. This time we had brought friends along from Germany, who were mesmerised by it all. Thank you, Jervis Bay Wild and Henry especially, we will be back!

My husband and I had limited time in Huskisson on our first ever visit so we really wanted to see as much of the area as we could so the Jervis Bay Passage tour was the natural choice for us. The staff, Brendan and Sonia were fantastic and really added to the experience, checking in with us often to see that everything was going well and sharing their knowledge of the local area. My husband and I really enjoyed the cruise even more than I thought we would and have still been talking about it days later. We will be returning again at some stage, with our children, and we will be sure to take this cruise again. Thanks for showing us the sights and making us feel at ease as we crossed the bay in such a comfortable and stable vessel.

Really enjoyed this tour even though it was a bit windy. Saw lots of the sights up really close and even saw some dolphins. The captain was very good and knowledgeable. Would recommend this as a great way to see things you can't see from land.

Is this the best cruise for seeing not just the wildlife but the Perpendicular Cliffs. We have seen a couple of You Tube posts in which the cliffs were in shadow. Would the earlier cruise (10am) be preferable to get the light right for photographs?
