- X2Julian0 contributionsOnly to be recommended! This was the best tour I did so far in Australia! It was an overall unique experience and totally different to all the other commercial tours. I had a great afternoon and night. Chris is a great tour guide, he is a very kind, inspiring and knowledgable person - I especially loved his meditation session in the wild! I learnt a lot about the history of Byron Bay and the spirituality which is to be found here. I can only recommend this tour!Written 27 March 2019

- jjourdan890 contributionsMagical !Thank you Chris for this lovely day ! It was one magical tour ! We started at 3 pm and got into the van, and we were a group of 5+Chris which was really cool ! Went to the beach, got to wash the salt in beautiful fresh water and went in to the dark and wonderful forest ( I don’t want to give too much away) It was very calm and very overwhelming in a good way! The vibe of the group was very positiv and you can tell that Chris loves the nature and let you take part of his passion which was wonderful ! Would recommend this trip for every nature lover and for those who wants to discover another side of byron and the secret spots you have in the surrounding ! Thank you again x JoannaWritten 21 February 2019
- meowelena0 contributionsDefinitely worth going - beautiful locations and awesome guide! This was a wonderful experience, definitely worth it! Small group size, air-conditioned van. Cristiano takes you to stunning beaches, waterfalls and forests with little to no other tourists around. You get to swim, walk around and he doesn't treat you like a herd of sheep - (like some other group tours I've been to lol). He is a delightful guide and a down-to-earth person with a passion from his heart, and it really shows. He gave us fruit while we were swimming in a waterfall, and did a little meditation session. He even takes photos of you with a pro camera and sends them to you later at no extra cost. One of the best feel-good tours I've been on, thank you for a relaxing and memorable day in Byron!Written 18 February 2019

This was by far the worst tour I have ever been a part of. Let me tell you with the least bias possible what we saw.
The temple is a big tree house a guy built and called a temple.
The glow worm cave is a basement the same guy dug up under his tree house that happens to have worms living in it. They do not hang off the walls and ceiling, for all I know those tiny specks of glowing dots could have been glow in the dark paint. I am not saying it is but it did not look like what the glow worms were advertised to be in the brochure.
The guide was very friendly indeed but I wish I had known this was a hippy tour where we visited a commune, a basement and a somewhat of a waterfall (the water is flowing over a 5m high rock into a pool of yellowish-brown water). There was too much talk about THC and other products and their benefits for me to believe this was a legit tour. Had the brochure, again, reflected the hippiness of the tour I never would have signed up. While sitting in the darkness of the dug out cave the guide and groups did some "ooommmms" and he then played the flute. At the lookout we went to he proceeded to play some kind of drum for us. Please be aware of what you are signing up for. I knew the meal they offered was vegan but I did not just assume the tour was hippie because of it. Nothing against hippies, just would not have given 80$ for this. The vegan meal was pasta coated with some oil and a few vegetables.

Hi Tanja,
I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your day with us. After processing a full refund for you, I am here thinking about how I should reply to this comment. Up until this point I have only had 5-star reviews on all online platforms I work with. The only thing I can say is that we all have very different ways of looking into the world. Judging by all reviews, over 99% of my guests are really happy with their experience. So I will carry on speaking my truth and walking my talk.
The temple has been the highlight of most of my guest's experiences. It's a very unique and special place that took a lifetime to be built. I few sorry that you did not see the magic in it. It is also the place with more glow-worms I ever seem in my life and I believe you were able to see that.
The meal is freshly home-cooked by me, always with organic ingredients (and made with love). Again, all my guests appreciate the fact that we take the time to prepare ethical clean food.
CBD oil and a healthy diet have already saved a few of my friends from cancer. It is my business mission to spread conscious ideas.
Ps: At the waterfall, you could have had a better time if you did not spend the entire time on your mobile phone.
Thank you for your feedback. It will definitely help us to keep our values at the heart of what we do.
Blessings

My boyfriend and I keep referring to this day as our best day in Byron, and we will remember it forever!
The Tour guide Chris was a beautiful person straight off the bat, even in communicating before we met him! Due to wether conditions and drought he had to altered the tour a little to make sure we still had an amazing experience. We visited the rainbow temple which was such a magical place, and the swim stop afterwards was such a highlight. It also helped that it felt like our group and tour guide all worked great together, everyone wanted to have a good time, and everyone got a long and shared insights. The food at the end was fresh and delicious, just what we needed! This was such a perfect day and really opened my mind. I also loved how Chris touched on the environment a little as it is a passion of mine and seems to be a theme throughout Byron. 10/10 would book again

Myself, hubby and four friends had the amazing privilege to spend the day with Cristiano today. I had no idea just what a fabulous and amazing experience we were in for, but felt it was going to be something special from the moment we met this beautiful soul.
He managed to connect our small group on the bus very easily and no words can convey the magic of the waterfalls, rainbow temple and glow worm cave! The food is scrumptious too. We were even serenaded whilst we ate by a guest playing saxophone, an added and welcome bonus.
Highly recommended and a reminder to appreciate the beauty of nature, to not sweat the small stuff, to see the beauty in every little thing and how we can, little by little, do our bit to preserve Mother Earth ❤️

Our tour was sensational, we loved the glow worm experience and the tour guides flute playing in the dark - it was magical. The secluded waterfall swim was awesome and the tunes in the van were next level. I highly recommend this tour.

Chris was honestly the best person for the job. He has an abundance of information about the history of Byron bay and surrounding suburbs that made this experience not only full of knowledge but incredibly interesting. Chris was interested in our individual lives and where we are all from, which bought the group together and we became friends with other people in the tour. Me and my partner felt safe the entire time whilst Chris was driving and whist he was guiding the tour. He provided an amazing vegan gluten free meal of a pesto pasta full of vegetables and flavour. I loved it! He also included a mediation session and dove into the other world of our soul and body! I loved the experience and would do it all over again in a heart beat! Thanks so much Chris!

Byron Bay is known for its laidback surfer/hippie vibe. If you want to dive deeper into that vibe and learn more about the foundation of this area, than this tour is a must-do! From the moment you step in the van you will feel relaxed. Christiano is a very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining guide. The Rainbow Temple is of great value for the area and represents everything that Byron stands for. After this unique experience you will be positively inspired. The sight of the glow-worms was magical.

One of the best experiences I've had in a very long time, Cris was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited.
The waterfall was beautiful and refreshing, we visited the Rainbow Temple as the national park was closed and it truly is an amazing place, we had fun exploring the temple and looking at the art, the people there were very friendly and welcoming.
The glow worms were out of this world, it was like looking at the night sky but it's right in front of your face and all around you.
Thank you Cris for this experience and for making us a delicious dinner.

The one main thing that the tour description left out was the big spiritual and ritual part to the tour. Right as you begin the tour they play spiritual music and spiritual talks throughout the drive. After all the nature viewing you are driven to the Rainbow Temple where you are supposed to see the Glowworms. Once at the Rainbow temple you are allowed to tour around the Temple and the Temple grounds. The Rainbow Temple is a hand made seven story treehouse that has no safety or engineering certificates. When you see the Glowworms you are taken to a cave that was dug by hand underneath the Temple. Again there are no safety permits or regulations to have the cave dug out. During the tour the Guide made a comment that we cannot post any pictures of the temple on social media due to the city council and the owner not agreeing on structural safety. After some research I found out that the Lismore City Council does not find the temple structure safe and wants it to be demolished. The City also has advised that the cave should be filled in and no guest should be taken underneath. I felt like the whole time I was trying to be converted into this new spiritual journey. I feel the description of the tour should have details about the rainbow temple and the big spiritual component to the tour. I would not have booked this tour if I knew how spiritually involved it was.

Hi Ava.
Thank you so much for your review.
I am really, from my heart, sorry that you were not able to experience the tour in a positive way.
In response to your comments about the tour description not matching the experience - It was stated clearly in the "About" section on Trip Advisor that there will be live sacred instruments, organic/vegan food, out of the box thinking and conscious talks. Byron Bay is known for being an alternative area, and this tour aims to share that with our guests.
It is worth mentioning that you and your fellow tour companion were consuming beers before and during the tour (without prior consent). This could also have affected your experience and of other guests, which is part of the reason why the consumption of alcohol on the tour is prohibited (as per waver form signed prior to the activity).
There was also a lot of lack of attention and laughter coming from you during the experience while the guide was sharing information, which can also affect your experience as you may have missed important informative content. When you brought a half lit cigarette into our van it was also really not appreciated by the other guests.
I personally as a small business owner, did not enjoy receiving your threatening email asking for a refund because the tour was “too spiritual”.
I found your behaviour extremely unappropriated and would not "reward" it with a refund.
On the other hand, I very much appreciate your review because it shows that not everyone is for this tour. In my humble opinion, your review represents the people that go against the awakening of consciousness, of which the Byron Bay area represents. Of which we, at Rise Up, are honoured to showcase to people who are ready to appreciate it. Otherwise you are probably better staying in the comfort of town having a drink by the beach.
Regarding the temple subject, we will take your accusation seriously and investigate things further with the council. The temple visit was just an "one-off" stop over at the day of Ava`s visit. Glowworm visibility changes a lot depending on the season, moon stage and weather conditions. So we have, therefor, to be flexible with the glow-worm site to be visited, to make sure our guests have a memorable experience.
The owner of this private property kindly offered his place for our guests to enjoy. The reason we ask for discretion on sharing photos on social media is to make sure this special place do not become a busy tourist attraction but, instead, remain a low key sacred space.
If you are reading this, please check the other 240 plus “5 star” reviews and take your conclusion. If you are not ready for an “out of the box”, safe and mind-blowing experience, maybe this tour is not for you.
With blessings and gratitude,

My best friend and i did this tour whilst we were up in Byron bay. And oh my gosh, this tour was absolutely incredible. It exceeded all of my expectations and I still feel as though my whole body and my cells are being regenerated by the essence of calm which was exuded during this tour.
I knew it was going to be good prior to the tour but I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Cristiano has such a kind soul too and made us think outside of the superficial world and to look into our greater purpose in this life.
The glow worms were mind blowing. The experience of meditating in the womb like cave whilst Cristiano plays the flute will leave you rejuvenated.
The waterfall we swam in was refreshing and you feel like you connect right back into your own soul.
If you are looking to expand your own consciousness and to engage in mindful conversation this is for you. Trust me, it is 100% worth it.
P.S. the dinner is amazingggggggg.

I am not usually one to book tours, but a friend suggested that Jason and I do it. Firstly we had it booked for March 2022 - which there was terrible flooding in Northern Rivers at the time and we couldn't get there. Cristiano kindly let us have a credit for our next visit and we were not disappointed. Firstly, Chris himself was just the person you want to be teaching you about this beautiful part of Australia. Killen Falls was magic. And having a swim and jumping under the waterfall was a great start. The tunes that were played on the bus between stops and Chris's chat was perfect too. Minyon Falls was also a magical experience! And the vegan dinner was the best! Absolutely delicious, fresh, healthy. Even Jason loved it. A nice touch from the usual hamburgers or sangas. Rainbow Temple was extremely hard to leave. I can't even explain how I felt visiting this place. No words. Then Chris took us down to look at the glow worms. I was so excited until I saw the tiny little tunnel/steps to go underground. I froze and nearly pulled out as I am claustrophobic. I braved the tunnel and forgot about being scared as soon as I entered the tunnel and saw the glow worms. I wont give anymore away but this was the most magical experience I ever! The story behind it all is even more mind blowing and Chris playing the flute in complete darkness while looking at glow worms gave me the goose bumps. I honestly can't say enough good things about this tour. Do it and experience it for yourself. I would probably go back and do it all over again. Good vibes and good energy all around. I was on a high for days after this tour.

Hi there, I was just wondering the level of physical ability needed for this tour? We’re planning on bringing my best friends mum who can walk short to medium distances but may struggle climbing over rocks etc
Written 6 September 2022
The road to the waterfall is quite rough, and there is a short session that may require climbing. There are a lot of rocks by the water and they can be very slippery on wet weather. The road to the tunnel for glow worms is a rocky road and very long. It is dark. Honestly, I don’t think it is fit for anyone who is over 70 unless they are very fit
