Oregon Coast Day Trip: Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock
USD 100.00

Explore the stunning beaches and beautiful towns along Oregon’s northern coast on this full-day trip from Portland. Visit the charming towns of Manzanita and Cannon Beach — home of the famous Haystack Rock — browse antique shops and art galleries, and stop several beaches to maximize your time at the Oregon Coast!

What to Expect
Your 9-hour tour of Oregon’s northern coast starts with early-morning hotel pickup in downtown Portland. Be sure to grab your coffee and breakfast for the 2-hour ride to Neahkahnie Point, an amazing spot to look for whales and where you can see 30 miles of Oregon's coastline! Disembark in Manzanita where you can spend time on the beach or explore the quaint boutiques in their downtown.

Next, head to Short Sand Beach where you will walk for 1/4 mile through an old growth forest before arriving at a beautifully secluded sandy beach. Then head into Cannon Beach for some antiquing and lunch (own expense) before continuing to Haystack Rock. Walk out to Haystack’s base (if the tide is out), explore tide pools and glimpse scurrying sea creatures. Then enjoy some free time to walk along the beach, warm up with locally-roasted coffee, and peruse the town’s eclectic shops and art galleries. Your return trip stops at Camp 18, a historical logging museum that provides a window into Oregon’s timber industry. You’ll arrive back at your Portland hotel in the evening.

Worth Every Penny

Eddie (sp?) was our tour guide. We were with a group of about 10 adults and it was a lovely day. We even visited Astoria as Eddie was trying to make sure us Goonies fans were satisfied. Highly recommend this tour. You'll love it!

Beautiful Oregon Coast

We had a wonderful time burning calories on the beach. The kids loved playing in the sand so be sure to bring shovels and buckets. I was concerned about what seemed like lower temps (60s) but it was perfect. Not too hot.

Lovely Beach to Walk

Great Photo opportunities. Leisurely walk to Haystack Rock area with access to many stops for a bite or coffee or cocktail. Access the hotels that are on the beach or explore the town area.

May use some of these pictures in a Christmas card.

Views of the cost are beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable and acts like she loves Portland! Be warned some of the roads are narrow and windy. If you even think you might get carsick, sit in the front to begin with!

All places you visit have a 30 min to enjoy it, because it’s a long way round trip and they show you very nice and different places.
