About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- s94d6836a60b048179460 contributionsexcellent day tripan excellent day out to some fantastic locations. loved seeing and hearing about the Tasmanian Devils and the work they do at Bonorong wildlife sanctuary. Only damper on the day was the cloud closed in at the top of Mount Wellington but our driver, Hans, did what he could so at least we got partial views half way upWritten 5 February 2025
- 820miraz0 contributionsHighly recommendedI loved walking through the tall tree forest and visiting the waterfalls. Views from the Mt Wellington were stunning. It was lovely seeing the wildlife rescue sanctuary, and visiting a small heritage town for lunch. Brett, our tour guide was excellent, very informative and passionate about the animals and Tasmania. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Hobart.Written 31 January 2025
- 228lindyg0 contributionsGlad we did this tour, especially the waterfall walkHad a lovely day. Really enjoyed the rainforest walk. The views from Mt Wellington were spectacular. The wildlife sanctuary was ok. Not a highlight for me. Richmond is a quaint town we only had an hour and 10 mins to see it and eat lunch. That was really not enough time. I think the time scheduling on this trip could be improved. Our group was nice. Our driver was safe and informative.Written 27 January 2025
- Sol25100 contributionsA wonderful timeA tour with beautiful views and a great attention from the driver, Gary. Thank you so much for make me have a good time. Totally worth it! 🥰Written 27 January 2025
- Neeraja29940 contributionsExcellent day!Gary was excellent. Gave a lot of information about all the sites as well as Hobart in general. Also, he gave great suggestions for lunch at Richmond. This is a great way to explore for solo travellers! 🙂Written 24 January 2025
- B3778KVteresal0 contributionsMust See ExperienceRecommend the "feeding frenzy" tour as we got such a unique experience learning and being closeup with the animals. Jessie was an amazing tour guide!Written 19 January 2025
- NMcMah0n0 contributionsAlpine and forest in one day (with some cute critters thrown in)This was a well planned and delivered tour of a number of different attractions close to Hobart. In one day we walked through a cool climate rainforest at Mt Field National Park and experienced an alpine landscapre on the top of kunanyi (Mt Wellington). Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is up there with the best (and we regularly travel to some of the 'big name' zoos in South East Queensland). Hans was a wonderful guide and showed his knowledge and love of Tasmania. Would happily choose iwander again for anouther tour.Written 18 January 2025
- Vivek93770 contributionsExcellent tour operatorThe tour was very well planned and the guide was superb. All the things were properly managed on time. I will surely recommend to book this tour.Written 14 January 2025
- Wander7934090 contributionsLovely day with an excellent guideRainforest, Tassie devil, wombats, echidnas and beautiful scenery. This was made even better by Bretts guide who was extremely knowledgeable and could answer all the annoying questions 😊Written 29 December 2024
- Lindahollins0 contributionsA very worthwhile day tripAn excellent tour with a very informative guide called Brett. A wonderful tour to give you a taste of Tasmania. The walk to the falls was beautiful and the trip up Mount Wellington was fantastic. We didn't see many animals at the sanctuary but it was very hot so most of the animals were taking shelter. All in all a very worthwhile trip highly recommended.Written 21 December 2024
- Threadgirlkk0 contributionsExplore Hobart and beyondHad a great day with Brett on the Mt Fields, Bonorong and Mt Wellington tour. Our Driver/guide was great, knowledgeable, fun, and full of history of the wildlife of the area. The weather was clear and warm and the countryside is beautiful.Written 20 December 2024
- info40 contributionsFun and included a lotPaul, the guide, was quirky, knowledgeable, and very fun. Quite a change in temperature from the windy top of Mt. Wellington to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary- be prepared! Small tours are the way to go off the cruise ships. Excellent day.Written 6 December 2024
- fionacD5856DR0 contributionsDay Tour in Mt. Field, Mt. Wellington, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and RichmondOur driver Hans was very knowledgeable and kept us well informed throughout the day. The falls were AMAZING. Our daughters really enjoyed the Wildlife Sanctuary. We would have liked a bit more time in Richmond. It looks like there was more to explore. We appreciated that even though Mt Wellington was closed due to road works, they substituted Rosny Hill Lookout and Mt. Nelson Signal Station. The only downside were the couple who chose to ignore the time we were told to be back at the bus and our driver had to keep calling them to find out where they were.Written 18 November 2024
- msg94d6836a60b0420240 contributionsExcellent Tour!We set off right on time with Peter, our Driver & Tour Guide with visits to Mt. Wellington, Bonorong Wildlife Rescue and the quaint town of Richmond. The tour was perfect for us . . . plenty of time to see what we wanted to see and do with great information and dialog from Peter! Pre-tour communications were also very good. We knew exactly where and when to meet. We highly recommend this tour, Peter and Paul, and this tour company iWander Tasmania!Written 16 November 2024
- HayleyK3050 contributionsFor the nature loverGreat trip, our guide Brett was fantastic - he is truly 10/10 and so informative with stories and tales about Tassie and animals. he is such a wonderful asset to your team. The waterfalls were beautiful, wildlife sanctuary was a top highlight, and we never felt rushed at all the whole day. Mt Wellington turned on the gold with a perfect 360deg clear view, what a way to end a great day. only downside we had been given the very small bus which made it very squishy for 11 adults on a 9hr trip, lucky everyone was cool enough to swap seats through the day to give comfort to all. please never give a full tour the small bus again! Thank you again Brett for your kindness, patience and knowledge. you are a great guide and made the day very memorable.Written 16 November 2024

This was a fantastic day trip with a really great guide who ensured it was comfortable for all. Highly recommend this tour allows you to see so much in the day. Richmond was beautiful (thoroughly recommend their bakery's award winning vanilla slice), the tessellated pavement is unbelievable and Port Arthur was astounding. Our other spots were great too and it was great to get a snapshot of south-east Tassie through our personable guide.

Our great tour guide Scott fit so much into the day from the first stop at lovely Richmond, many scenic nature spots both on the way to and from Port Arthur, the Port Arthur lavender farm and even stopping for people to buy fresh oysters on our way home. We also had a boat trip at Port Arthur.
Scott was knowledgeable, interesting, friendly and good humoured. We had a fun and informative day. Highly recommended.

Our tour director Jarrod made the trip very enjoyable. He kept us informed about the local landmarks and history and took us to some excellent viewing sites. We had plenty of time at Port Arthur to explore and appreciate the historic buildings and wonderful surroundings. Jarrod picked us up and returned us to our hotel making the outing very smooth. We would highly recommend the tour.

Myself, my husband and our adult son did the tour together. Our guide Paul was brimming with local information and you could tell he really enjoys running these tours. We stopped at some amazing places like the tessellated pavement, Devils Kitchen (our absolute highlight) and the Tasman Arch. It was interesting and enjoyable to see Port Arthur in person and learn more about the history of this very significant place. Richmond is such a lovely little town with lots of things to see so we went back the next day to spend a bit more time there. The only down side for this tour is that as you have to travel quite a distance to get to Port Arthur from Hobart you don’t get to spend much time in each location. All in all we had a great day.

We had the BEST time. Jarrod met us at our hotel as arranged. From this point on we had one of the best days. The bus is comfortable and great to travel in. Jarrod has a great knowledge of the area and the history connected to the tour as well. He is such a lovely young man and has a very personable way about him. At each place we stopped he accompanied us and explained the significance of the attraction. Highly recommend this tour. Excellent value and great tour operator. Thanks Jarrod for making this such a great day. Leslee, Karl, Eleanora and Jim . Monday 15th May 2023

We loved our tour. The tour Leader, Scott, was prompt and welcoming from the beginning! His knowledge of the sites and Hobert in general was very good.
Port Arthur is a must-see for all Australians, for multiple reasons. It is beautiful, historic and its history is poignant to each Australian.
We packed so much into the day without feeling rushed. We would definitely recommend this tour &/or company to others!
