        Great shore excursion of Tasmania
Simon was a great and knowledgeable tour guide, his relaxed demeanor made the trip very enjoyable. Our smaller van went to Bonorong Sanctuary first and left just as the hordes of buses were arriving.

        Great Shore Excursion of Hobart
Had a great tour with Simon - got to explore Richmond, the animal sanctuary, and take in the views from Mt Wellington. Along the way he shared fun and interesting stories and facts about Hobart and the Tassie State.

Great guide and great tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the local people and area. It was not just a canned storyline. Very informative!

        Great Day exploring Hobart!
Our driver/guide Simon was terrific. Got us to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary first thing, drove us to nice alternative places when Mt. Wellington was closed for fire risk. Had excellent recommendations for lunch in Richmond.

        Fun Shore Excursion
Did this tour with my parents and we all really liked it. It was chilly when we arrived that morning, so our guide changed up the order and we went out to Bonorong first and did Mt Wellington later in the day. That was definitely a good call as it was still rather cold when we got to Mt Wellington anyway! Our guide was great, very informative. Bonorong was really cool. Loved getting to see Tasmanian devils and wombats up close! The small group size was far better than being packed onto a big bus.

        A taste of everything!
Exactly as stated, tour operator met us at the door of the cruise terminal with their sign. Our guide Simon was very insightful. Had enough time at each location to explore. Bonorong sanctuary was small but lots of animals. We did see the Tasmania devil and fed Kangaroos. Richmond is a quaint town. If you like Christmas decor, the giraffe bldg upstairs has a great display. The views from Mount Wellington are spectacular.

        Day in Hobart.
Great time at Bonorong and Richmond. Good recommendations from guide. Guide rearranged day due to weather but sadly Mt Wellington never cleared. Went to Mt Nelson instead and a view from there. Guide did a great job getting us back to ship in time, even though it was a rough day for traffic due to tri athlon in town that day.

        Great experience.
Loved this excursion! Our guide, Simon, was brilliant. As it was a small group it felt more like a day out with friends and because of Simon's local knowledge we even managed to get to the top of Mount Wellington earlier than planned to avoid the low cloud by minutes. The panoramic views were amazing. We visited the quaint town of Richmond where we stopped for a lunch break to wander around and do our own thing. My favourite part of the day was our stop at Bonorong wildlife sanctuary, seeing and learning about the native species. Handfeeding the kangaroos was the highlight of my holiday! Would definitely recommend this experience.

        Amazing rainforest
The tour was very well organized. Peter brought us to rainforest with tallest trees on earth. His stories and explanations helped us to better understand the history and the places we visited.

We had the best time at Bonorong. We were scheduled for a private after-hours tour and Robyn is so dedicated that her enthusiasm spread to us. We pet and fed all the wildlife , the wombat in our laps, and the tasmaian devils from afar. I highly recommend a late afternoon at Bonorong. Just be prepared for a $$ cab fare if you don't have a car or a private guide.

I think we had a bargain for Paul’s special lookout spot when the weather was off for mount Wellington. I think it actually turns out better for us :)

Also we were lucky to have the whole bus to us a group of 8 with an infant. The schedule was just flexible and relaxing for us and felt like VIP

Paul is very knowledgeable, patient and friendly, we had great conversation about everything. He is such an open minded person it was really enjoyable to talk about social affairs, life experience etc

Jarrod was attentive and very personable. He looked after the group rather well considering the incessant rain during the morning portion of the tour. Russell falls was breathtaking while a look see at the Tassie Devil over at the Sanctuary is a must!

Love the meal at a local cafe over at Richmond Village. The scones and tea was awesome; not forgetting the lavender ice cream of course at the “largest lolly” shop around.

When the full experience of Mount Wellington could not be realised due to poor visibility and strong winds, Jarrod brought the group to the Cascade Brewery to bridge the vacuum.

Overall an enjoyable day despite the weather outlook.

We highly recommend this tour run by Jarrod (our driver and tour guide) - you get to see so much in one day as well as learn lots about the history of Tasmania during the drive time. Jarrod is very professional and ran the day like clockwork (pick up time and departure time from each stop). Our first stop was a short downhill hike through the gorgeous forests to the beautiful waterfalls of Mt Field (if you didn’t want to do the hike, you had the option to go directly to see the waterfall). Next stop was the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where we enjoyed watching the cheeky Tasmanian devils, friendly echidnas, and feeding the kangaroos. Stopped in the historical town of Richmond where we saw Australia’s oldest bridge and tried one of their famous scallop pies. Concluded the day with the fabulous but freezing Mt Wellington. We definitely recommend this full day tour if you’re ever in Hobart for a short period of time.

This is a very good tour and you get to experience a wide variety of different things around Tassie in a day .iWander Tasmania is a small family run Business our driver for the day was Jarrod the owner who was very knowledgeable and very well spoken and they run smaller group tours and pick up and drop off at your accomidation. First stop was Mt Field and the Russel Falls were you have a choice of two walks to the falls then to the cafe where we had a drink before we all got back on the bus for our next stop.Second stop was Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary a great little place you get a bag of Kangaroo food to feed the roos. The next stop was Historic Richmond for lunch and free time to wander the town and the many shops and Historic things to do. The last stop was a drive up to Mt Wellington but due to the foggy weather we were unable to see much so Jarrod drove to Cascades for a drink before we got dropped off back at our Accommodation. A great day highly recommend iWander tours.

We were picked up at 7:45am to head out on this tour. Our driver was Simon and we can’t say enough about this young man. He was very friendly and very professional as he took us on our tour. Our first stop was Mt Field but sadly due to the windy weather we were unable to do the available walks and therefore missed out also on seeing the waterfalls.Everyone on board was very disappointed but understanding. We spent a short time there for a look around and then we headed off to Bonorong wildlife sanctuary. The sanctuary has been set up for injured animals and animals that can I longer go back into the wild. We enjoyed the 1 1/2hr stay there and We got to see echidnas and Tasmanian devils, kangaroos and other animals. Once on board the bus, we made our way to Richmond where we had to stop for about another hour and a half. That’s a very quaint town reminded me a lot of Hahndorf in Adelaide. My husband and I ate at the Richmond hotel the food there was excellent. We both had steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Next and final stop was Mount Wellington. My Wellington is well worth driving up to have a look whether you are on tour or with your own car. Views are spectacular but make sure you have warm clothing as the temperature can differ a lot , up to as much as 10°. Our day was a very windy day and it was quite gusty up there and we weren’t able to last too long out in the elements. Overall this tour was magnificent. We would have loved to of seen the waterfalls at Mount Field and that was disappointing but it was put together well and we had an amazing young driver Simon and we recommend it to anybody who would choose to do this tour.

This was one of our top 3 days of our 4 week trip to New Zealand and Australia. We saw so much and go to see the Tasmanian devil, koalas and kangaroos....plus the views of Mt. Wellington, the Tall trees of Mt. Field and delicious scallop pie in Richmond. It was a full day of fun. Jarrod of iwander was great. The only negative was we were suppose to get a tour with only 12 people but ended up in a larger bus with 22 people.
I would recommend this tour for all to really see and experience the best of Hobart.

It basically takes you to all attractions near Hobart in one day, and there’s plenty of time at each stops so you can take your time and fully explore these places (we found all different types of fungus during the tall tree walks!) There was a huge fog on mount Wellington when we went here, so our guide took us to another spot where you can also see the whole Hobart city. Really appreciated that!

Overall the trip was nice and informative. Before arriving at the spots, our tour guide Jarrod gave thorough suggestions and advice on how to explore the national parks, Sanctuary and Richmond. For Mount. Field, I did a long walk to see two waterfalls and the scenery was great! If you are looking for wild animals like Pademelons, this is the place you must go! My friends and I saw six of them in different locations.

The sanctuary was an educational and fun place to visit. I joined the tour organized by their staff. You can see animals that are more active than those in the zoo while learning their own stories. If you want close interaction with the kangaroos, you can feed them there too!

Richmond was also a good place to visit with its long history. My favorite part was the curried scallop pie, which is special in Tasmanian. It is not spicy and the portion is quite big. You will get pretty full after two pies for 20 dollars.

I want to thank Jarrod for his clear instructions and interesting stories along the way. Along the way, he described the places like farms and special foods in Tasmanian. He also knows a lot of history about Hobart and Tasmania. I didn't feel bored along the way to different spots.
