- T8337NXmariec0 contributionsPleasant PaddleA lovely 3 our paddle around the bay. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. The communication with the company was very good.Written 29 January 2024
- M2697DBkatec0 contributionsUltimate weekender awesome tripWe did the overnight sea kayaking and camping trip. It was awesome! A fantastic experience. We saw stingrays, dolphins and lots of bird life, swam in Wineglass Bay and enjoyed sunset drinks at our beachside camp - perfect!Written 14 January 2020
- Donnalee O0 contributionsFabulous view of Cole's Bay from different perspectiveWe are older novices, but Molly and Amber were patient and lively, encouraged us through the heavy surf to the smoother water. The scenery is beautiful and it was so much fun to see it from the ocean side. I dressed warm instead of dry, and would recommend not wearing long pants which of course got wet :) Really appreciated the cup of hot tea on the beach at the halfway point. The exertion was well worth the effort, really loved this exhilarating experience!Written 7 November 2019

Our family of two teenagers, three adults (one aged 70+) really enjoyed our experience with Freycinet Adventures.
We did an sunset kayak across Coles Bay to the National Park, and the scenery was stunning. We hadn’t had much experience kayaking and the instruction we received made it very easy to get the hang of. The double sea kayaks felt very stable compared to my experience of conventional/river kayaks.
Our guides Rob and Tayla were very welcoming and a wealth of information about the Aboriginal and European history of the area and we were fortunate to see wildlife including a sting ray and a sea eagle. The paddle home after our refreshments was stunning.
While our tour was in very calm weather, we had originally booked in a tour for the previous day which was cancelled because of high winds at a more sheltered location near Moulting Lagoon. The decision to postpone this tour turned out to be very wise as the winds built up as the day progressed. We appreciated the ease with which Freycinet Adventures rescheduled our booking.
Thanks for a wonderful and memorable evening!

We loved our paddle adventure! There were extremely large waves on the morning we went but our very capable guide - sorry can’t remember her name but the lovely young lady with the reddish braids - made us feel quite confident. She was very patient and was very informative about the local wildlife and an old quarry. Our break on the beach was lovely and we enjoyed a hot drink and some delicious cookies. This is a trip really worth taking . Thanks!

The weather wasn’t good to kayak in the open water but the guides gave us a choice of cancelling or kayaking in the lake. We all opted for the lake and it was a lot of fun especially for me a first time kayaker. The guides were very informative and very easy to deal with.

This could have been wonderful. The guides were absolutely lovely .
However 18 people in one group is too many. We found that 10 of the group seemed intent on taking selfies all the time whilst we sat around waiting. Very little actual paddling was actually done . Maca and Archie did their best but this was too big a group and the 10 ladies who were travelling together should have been managed separately. It was the only thing I was slightly disappointed in in Tasmania sadly and we had amazing weather for the paddle. 18 is too many

We are so sorry that you were not satisfied with your experience! Coordinating public tours with groups of people who have different interests, skill levels and behaviors is definitely one of the most challenging aspects of operating our tours. Our guides do their best to ensure everyone on our tours are safe and have the most enjoyable experience possible given the weather conditions and group dynamics. We are very sorry that other guests on your tour may have negatively impacted your experience with us and we really appreciate your constructive feedback. Hopefully we can have you back again in a more intimate setting in the future.

This is a must do experience. Went with 10, 12 and 18 year old boys and this was the highlight of our stay in Tasmania. It was a strong paddle home against the wind and we felt we’d accomplished something and learned a lot. We will be back again. It was amazing. Thanks Holly for carrying the coffee and snacks!!

This was an amazing experience. Our guide Maca was amazing, great knowledge of the area and of Kayaking.
We had our 9 & 14 yr old and decided to do the sunrise tour as there was less paddling and it was spot on!
Amazing breakfast friendly staff great views!
We've been exploring in Tassie for 2 weeks and this was one of our highlights!

We hired an aqua taxi to take us to Hazard beach and made the short walk over to Wineglass bay beach from there. The taxi ride was about 25 minutes each way although it got windy so coMing back was an Adventure with a capital A!
Our skipper, Taz, was very personable and gave us some great tips and did a great job piloting the stable and safe boat.
The walk across to the nearly deserted beach in Wineglass Bay took about 35 min on mostly flat ground. The only tricky part was the scramble up and over the sand dune at the start of the trek-which is pretty steep and has boards embedded -we wore hiking shoes for that then flip flops for the boardwalk and packed sandy trail-a pretty easy walk overall.
There’s a bathroom over at wineglass bay but nothing else so bring along wAter and anything else you may need.
Cost of water taxi for us was $AUD 60/person for the round trip.

An absolutely brilliant morning out on the kayaks with Lee and Corey. They were some of the best tour guides we have encountered in our travels and would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the beauty of Coles Bay from a different perspective!!!

This is a must do if you are visiting Coles Bay.
We took the 8:30 am paddle, the water was a little choppy to start, however the sea kayaks are all the gear supplied is top quality and easy to handle.
Tour guides were excellent and inspired confidence and had a good knowledge of the area.
Magnificent sea level views of the mountains and as the morning progressed the weather improved.
The half way beach stop provided not only a range of teas and coffee but Milo with a MARSHMELLOW as well, ya cant beat that!
Altogether a great experience, easy to book and well worth the money.
We shall return and spend longer in this great place.

Can't beat a Milo with Marshmellow, hehe! Thanks for providing some kind feedback and good information to other guests. The views of the Hazards Mountains sure do look different at sea level.

What a superb experience it was to be paddling our kayaks along the shoreline of Great Oyster Bay on a sunny afternoon. The Freycinet National Park as a backdrop is just stunning on any day of the year and our day was perfect. The tour itself was very well organised and run by our guides Marga and Francisco (please excuse my spelling). The commentary was very informative throughout and their warm interaction with our group of 11 was natural and impressive. We paddled for two hours with a 30 minute break on a secluded beach for some welcome refreshments. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience to Freycinet Adventures.
