- Food4Claire00Great experience and value for moneyThis was a really good animal experience. Sarah led the group and was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You’re able to get a really look look at both Tasmanian Devils and Quolls as well as learn a great deal about both species. I considered it money well spent and took a gazillion photos and videos 😊
- porchapoo00Top Experience and a Must DoWe did the 7:00pm feeding tour which included time with a Joey which we both loved. This tour exceeded what I expected and I left with more knowledge and appreciation of these amazing creatures. The keeper/tour guide was superb, thank you (I have a new appreciation of poo 😂). Highly recommended. You need to book ahead. Do the late tour if you can.
- roseh78300Make sure you visit the devils!Excellent, informative experience …guides are wonderful and spend plenty of time interacting with visitors, asking and answering every question …very patient with the children in our group. The guides clearly love their jobs and the animals they care for. It is amazing to see the devils n quolls feeding …they are ferocious and crunch through even a possums head!! Highly recommend everyone visiting. We combined a day visit in the morning then returned for the night feeding …..fantastic experience.
- nicholeh000Incredible experienceWhat a wonderful experience!! Our tour guide PRU was friendly and knowledgeable and made the evening both educational and enjoyable. I came away from the experience with a heap of new information I didn’t know and a new love and appreciation for both the animals and the hard work devils at cradle do to help preserve and raise awareness about the devils and quolls. Any questions we had Pru was able to answer in great detail. The baby devils were definitely my favourite part of the experience and it was really nice to finish off with a lovely platter of Tassie sweets. Highly recommend this experience!!
- PkN24_700Interesting and informativeVery educational and informative. My 5 year old got a bit restless towards the end so probably better suited for kids a little older. You get to see the devils and quolls up close in their sanctuary environment and I have a new appreciation for these amazing carnivorous marsupials! The tour guide was really passionate and entertaining.
- juliamM7948GK00Devils feeding tourThe tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable about genetics, breeding, lifecycles etc. she entertained the audience well and gave plenty of relevant info. We thoroughly enjoyed it
- katherinew19600Devils UpcloseWe learn a lot of interesting facts about the Devils from our guide. The guide fed the devils a dead animal which made me a little queasy watching the Devils tear it apart. I thought it was costly for the state of facilities. I realise they are not funded and possibly the reason why.
- 652laurelt00Great tour and the animal attendants were amazingIt was so interesting. We saw Devils, baby devils and Quolls. The keeper was so knowledgeable and keen to share her knowledge with us.
- Pam B00A must do experienceA great experience, rangers talk was informative and very interesting. Feeding time tour is a must do experience. Make sure you go a bit earlier and see them calmly laying around before the food comes out.
- Mark456000Great visitWe had a wonderful time on this tour. Very informative guide with lots of action from the animals as it is feeding time. Very worthwhile.
- suzanneh61500Highly recommended feeding tourIt was a great education into some of Australia's lesser known marsupials. The keepers were very informative and answered everybody's questions. It was fascinating to see these carnivores eat their dinner. The quolls are very cute.
- KelliAnneMcKenna00Winter Joey EncounterIf you get a chance to do the Joey encounter I 1000% recommend it. How many people can say they’ve patted a Tasmanian Devil!!?? The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Our young kids (2 & 4) got to participate and both got to pat the devils - even though they had no idea how cool it was. Afterwards we were taken on a little tour of the centre and ended with toasting marshmallows surrounded by Tassie Devils and a private feeding viewing while enjoying the fire. Would do this again in a heartbeat. One of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced!
- Whitespirits1100The best wildlife experience everWe chose to have 'Dessert with the devils' on a very cold winter night and it was the most enjoyable, unexpected, informative wildlife experience I have ever been on. Usually one pays an extortionate amount at a city zoo for an 'intimate' encounter with an animal, but this was so much better. We arrived well wrapped up and were greeted by amazingly friendly staff who passed us to Sarah, our guide for the evening. The first thing that one noted when we walked in was the instant Devil action. Look, right there! Little dudes all scampering up to see if we had dinner. Not elusive or mysterious, these little guys, just super cute and very busy. Although Sarah was busy lighting the fire and prepping for the tour she nevertheless welcomed us like friends, got us a glass of wine and chatted away while we waited for the rest of the party - being only two other people. Once we were all there, drinks in hand, we were joyfully surprised to have the privilege of meeting Nugget, a juvenile who Sarah had hand reared, and who snuggled happily into her while we got a pat. Top up your glasses and go for a wander around the pens, enjoying Sarah's passion and knowledge and clear delight in all the animals and the work they do at this lovely facility. A good look at the quolls (who are almost as good as the devils, don't let me suggest otherwise) then back for marshmallows in the fire, some sweet treats (more wine) and the sheer bliss that was feeding time for the teenagers. I don't think it's possible to really describe a bunch of funny little juvenile devils bickering over wallaby tails and chasing each other at high speed in big circles to try and steal food they couldn't see... But it was beyond delightful. This place does amazing work and the wildlife staff are clearly thrilled to be able to do so. We got to go back in the morning as we left the mountain, and say hi to the few who were awake, and still the staff were full of bounce and welcome. The cost of the experience may look high when you book, but honestly it was more than good value. I would have felt the same if we had paid more. See the devils at night and go back to say good morning, or vice versa. But do it here.
- catkid300Extremely informative guides with passion for these animalsMade a brief stop here while visiting Cradle Mountain and was not disappointed. Plenty of fantastic photo opportunities of both the devils and quolls, as there are multiple large exhibits of each animal. The keepers' passion for animal conservation was obvious and they were extremely informative about the projects they supported. It was interesting hearing about how they selected which devils to use for breeding season and the keeper talk I observed showed us how they check in on the couple that they were attempting to breed at the time (early May). Definitely visit if you're going to be in the area!
- Kaylie B00After dark feeding and dessert with the devils toursA must do! Amazing facility and the staff are so passionate. We really enjoyed the after dark feeding. We also stayed for dessert with the devils which was a highlight as we got to interact with a devil Joey. Our 8 year old love it and it was the best part of our weekend at Cradle Mountain

We had a really interesting feeding tour with Rory. He answered lots of questions and was really passionate and knowledgeable. Cutie little animals even if watching them eat is a bit gross. Also gave us some gloves to pick up road kill on the long drive back to Hobart. Was great fun flinging it in bushes to keep the roads clear of tassie devils searching for food.

Our daughter really wanted to come here so I booked my entire Tasmanian holiday around spending time with the devils here. They have several experiences we booked in to: each is uniqueness it’s own way, and I’d recommend doing them. We spent most of a day here, only ducking out for lunch. These experiences let you get up close and personal without large crowds or risk of harm to the animals. Was very informative with lots of vital information shared

So glad we booked Devils @ cradle because we went from Sunshine to rain clouds ascending the mountain and didn't bother seeing cradle mountain. The animals were plentiful and the keeper very informative. Added bonus were the stunning quolls. A great way to learn about these unique creatures whilst feeling we are part of the solution in their conservation.

Hi Wendy S,
Thank you for your 5 star review, our Sanctuary is open throughout the year in sun, rain and snow so on those dreary days its great to get off the tracks and come to meet our residents.
As a privately owned Wildlife Conservation Sanctuary your support allows us to keep working towards our goals, so thank you - we hope to see you again one day.
Best regards,

An absolutely fantastic experience and encouraging to know there are sanctuaries like this working to save our wildlife. Our tour guide Prue provided expert knowledge of the animals (Tassie Devils, Spotted and Eastern Quolls) including the breeding program onsite and other sites around the country. Great walkways and enclosures, both for viewing ability and more importantly as natural as possible for the animals.

The staff were really welcoming. We were unable to make the original booking (snow) and they readily suggested an alternate time. The Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to a range of different needs within our group. Very worthwhile

Devils@Cradle was one of the highlights of our trip to Tassie.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we walked in the door but were pleasantly surprised by how well it was done.
We did the 5.30pm feeding tour, which was really interesting and informative. The keeper had lots of great facts and time for questions from the audience.
It was really special to see these unique endangered animals up close.

Awesome experience to see devils and quolls up close, and to hear so much about them. Rory told us so much information but in a really educational way - I learnt a lot! Fascinating to see all the animals up close. Would highly recommend this experience and I’m glad to hear of all the work being done to manage and save these creatures.

Hi Suz, Thank you for your review. We are really pleased that Rory has passed on his knowledge. He certainly has a gift with sharing his passion. The more we can educate, the more we can do to save our vulnerable species.

I am so glad we went to Devils@Cradle. We did the daytime feeding tour and highly recommend it. The passionate tour guide totally made the whole experience so much better. We learned so much about Tasmanian Devil's and Quolls (I hadn't even heard of Quolls before the tour) and it was clear that this sanctuary is run by knowledgeable and passionate people. Such funny little creatures. The feeding of the Tassie devils was a highlight. So funny.
In my opinion this is a not to be missed experience and we had a fantastic time!

I did both the Joey Encounter and the Feeding Tour, and would highly recommend either. If you can do both, it’s worth it to see the devils and quolls in different contexts. The keepers are very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. A great experience all round, and I would definitely come back when I’m next in Tasmania.
