About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Azette L0 contributionsSurprising & InformativeBooked the sunset experience & were not disappointed. Our guide, Prue was knowledgeable & happy for us to ask questions. We were a small group, so it was relaxed & friendly. Glass of wine during the introductory talk was a nice touch. Walk thru the park with guide & access to area’s normally off limits was great. Learnt so much about these endangered animals (devils & quolls) & the work this organisation does to help rescue & protect them. Saw a wild wallaby & wombat right out front in carpark before we even walked thru the doors & a free roaming pademelon within the park area. Finished the evening with a dessert platter. Really enjoyable experience. An important organisation to support.Written 26 November 2024
- Sunshine266595479890 contributionsGreat PlaceVery easy to find. Staff friendly and very informative. We learnt a lot about Tasmanian devils, Quolls etc and had a great time seeing them being fed.Written 18 November 2024
- 2kyliec0 contributionsWonderful ExperienceWe had a great time, we got to experience the sight of Devils feeding and even got to pat a baby devil who was totally gorgeous. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable and her love for caring and protecting the devils and Quokkas in her care and in the wild was inspiring! The sweet treats, beverages and toasted marshmallows was a lovely addition!Written 13 November 2024
- Kirsty380 contributionsA must doAbsolutely LOVED this place, Chris our guide was very knowledgeable and clearly has a real passion for his work. The sanctuary was really good, all the animals looked well csred for and had plenty enrichment. Devils @ cradle are really working hard to save the species. Definitely a must do when in the area! Throughly enjoyed and throughly reccomendWritten 26 October 2024

- donorsgirl0 contributionsLots of InformationWe did the 5:20 tour- it was about 1 1/2 hours. Excellent tour. Renee, the guide, was very knowledgeable and personable. We learned so much and enjoyed meeting and watching the devils!Written 9 October 2024
- Harvhouse0 contributionsHighlight of our Tassie tripWe did the Dessert with the devils experience and it was the highlight of our Tasmania trip. The guide was amazing - so knowledgeable and passionate. The devils and quolls were adorable. And baby devil Geoff was just the sweetest little guy. The tour really reiterated that we need to conserve our wonderful and unique fauna. Although I’m an animal lover, it really got me thinking about this more. I definitely recommend this tour. It’s worth spending the extra money to do one of the available experiences. Devils at Cradle are doing great work that they should be very proud of.Written 3 October 2024
- Travel_addict13_100 contributionsInformative and interestingThis is a really good experience for adults and children. There is good viewing of the young Tassie devils running around together and playing. There are also quols. The information was interesting. It is not a Zoo but a sanctuary that is conserving Tasmanian devils and working to keep the species alive in the face of the cancer that has attached the wild population. An opportunity to see a devil up close and learn about their habits.Written 23 September 2024
- N676VZsuel0 contributionsAngels saving the devils (and quolls)Great to see the work going on to save such valuable Australia species. Passionate and dedicated individuals Wonderful experience.Written 15 August 2024
- Erin A0 contributionsNot worth the costDisappointed. Reading reviews on online, watching videos and tv shows in this we were excited. However, it was not all it was made out to be, there were lots of people and pushy people at that, pushing my 6 year old onto the ground so they could get a better view then him. I was happy to forgo my view and stood at the back where I couldn't see anything. It was long, cold and quite frankly boring. Everyone was getting bored. We ended up leaving early because the whole experience was miserable. The price was expensive for what we actually got to see, there is no interaction for the guests with the animals, nothing special about this. Definitely better places in Tassie with the same experience and way less crowded. Will not return.Written 4 August 2024
- 895margm0 contributionsDelightful dessert with DevilsDessert with the devils- A very informative visit which allowed us to pat a devil, see them being fed and check out the quolls. Not cheap, but well worth it- once in a lifetime.Written 14 July 2024

- MummaandCo0 contributionsVery enjoyableWe really enjoyed this, more than we thought we would after wandering around before the tour. Our male guide was great, happy to answer lots of questions. The open fire was appreciated.Written 26 April 2024
- Travelglows0 contributionsDevils at their bestWhat an amazing experience to see the little creatures from pretty close. It was so cool to learn more about them and our guide was the funniest. Loved it. We also like the fact that you can return the next day to see the devils during the day (and yes they are active). The only downside we thought was that the group was just too big. We couldn’t always see or hear the whole story. And people are like animals running and pushing to get in front. We thought that the guide could have asked the people in the back to switch with the people in the front so that everyone could enjoy the evening (especially with the quolls). Other than that, it’s a very interesting evening out while helping the good cause.Written 21 April 2024
- atails70 contributionsGo here if you’re in Tassie and love animalsAbsolutely my highlight so far of our Tassie trip. The English lady doing the tour was so passionate about the animals. Our kids (various ages) were quiet for the first time on our trip. The devils were so cute and entertaining. Highly recommend for any animal lover.Written 20 April 2024

We had a really interesting feeding tour with Rory. He answered lots of questions and was really passionate and knowledgeable. Cutie little animals even if watching them eat is a bit gross. Also gave us some gloves to pick up road kill on the long drive back to Hobart. Was great fun flinging it in bushes to keep the roads clear of tassie devils searching for food.

Our daughter really wanted to come here so I booked my entire Tasmanian holiday around spending time with the devils here. They have several experiences we booked in to: each is uniqueness it’s own way, and I’d recommend doing them. We spent most of a day here, only ducking out for lunch. These experiences let you get up close and personal without large crowds or risk of harm to the animals. Was very informative with lots of vital information shared

So glad we booked Devils @ cradle because we went from Sunshine to rain clouds ascending the mountain and didn't bother seeing cradle mountain. The animals were plentiful and the keeper very informative. Added bonus were the stunning quolls. A great way to learn about these unique creatures whilst feeling we are part of the solution in their conservation.

Hi Wendy S,
Thank you for your 5 star review, our Sanctuary is open throughout the year in sun, rain and snow so on those dreary days its great to get off the tracks and come to meet our residents.
As a privately owned Wildlife Conservation Sanctuary your support allows us to keep working towards our goals, so thank you - we hope to see you again one day.
Best regards,
Devils@Cradle Team

An absolutely fantastic experience and encouraging to know there are sanctuaries like this working to save our wildlife. Our tour guide Prue provided expert knowledge of the animals (Tassie Devils, Spotted and Eastern Quolls) including the breeding program onsite and other sites around the country. Great walkways and enclosures, both for viewing ability and more importantly as natural as possible for the animals.

The staff were really welcoming. We were unable to make the original booking (snow) and they readily suggested an alternate time. The Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to a range of different needs within our group. Very worthwhile

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour at Devils @Cradle . Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian devils and the Quolls in residence there. We got to spend as much time as we wanted looking around following the tour . The Devils are quite fascinating and it’s good to see the conservation efforts being made to ensure their species survives . Also good to know that visitors are helping to keep the sanctuary going buy visiting and buying tickets as they do not get any funding from anywhere to help with the running costs .

Devils@Cradle was one of the highlights of our trip to Tassie.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we walked in the door but were pleasantly surprised by how well it was done.
We did the 5.30pm feeding tour, which was really interesting and informative. The keeper had lots of great facts and time for questions from the audience.
It was really special to see these unique endangered animals up close.

Awesome experience to see devils and quolls up close, and to hear so much about them. Rory told us so much information but in a really educational way - I learnt a lot! Fascinating to see all the animals up close. Would highly recommend this experience and I’m glad to hear of all the work being done to manage and save these creatures.

Hi Suz, Thank you for your review. We are really pleased that Rory has passed on his knowledge. He certainly has a gift with sharing his passion. The more we can educate, the more we can do to save our vulnerable species.

We had such a great visit, thank you to our guide Rory who answered all our questions and was so so knowledgeable. He is very educated and experienced which made our time there so enjoyable. We knew very little about Quolls and the devils so to have such an in-depth tour was beyond what we expected. Well done on such a great place, we booked the feeding tour at 1pm.

Opted for the park entry with the day time feeding tour. Really good. We walked around first viewing all the animals and got some good photos. Then did the tour. Very knowledgeable and loved see the Tassie Devils get stuck into the roo legs. Great to see the conservation effort they are doing for Devils and Quolls
