      Great animal experience for families.
We did a walk around the park for about an hour then the Joey Encounter( need to book online prior). We saw lots of Tasmanian Devils in different enclosures. They became more active later in the afternoon. The Joey experience getting up close to baby Devils and baby Quolls was highly informative and worthwhile. Our guide Prue was excellent.

      Fantastic program saving Endangered Species
Fantastic conservation breeding program, allowing you to view up close the endangered Tasmanian Devils, and Quolls. Were able to watch these animals being fed and learn about their habitats, feeding, and breeding. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was a great opportunity for my kids to learn from the past. Support this business that is doing a awesome job to conserve animals in risk of not being around for future generations.

Learn about and see Tasmanian Devils and quolls.
Really interesting and unique way to experience both Tassie Devils and quolls. We did the night feeding tour with our two teens. We learnt a lot about these unique and interesting Australian animals and the conservation efforts being made. Highly recommend this if you are staying in Cradle Mountain overnight.

      Devil Feeding Experience
Very worthwhile experience. The setting was lovely, the animals very healthy looking and there was ample room for viewing the feeding. The guide was very enthusiastic and informative and happily answered questions from the group.

      Do not miss this!
This is hands down one of the best experiences on our Tasmanian holiday. The sunset experience was not only informative with a knowledgeable keeper but provided brilliant interactions with the Devils. We loved it so much we returned the following day and spoke at length with another keeper about Quolls. You absolutely must put this on your list of things to do when you visit Cradle Mountain and please spend money there - it's going to a very good cause!

Devil in name, not by nature
This was our second visit, the first being some 15 years ago, and this was better. The sunset tour starts with a class of wine and some local treats which is a nice start but the animals are the stars. Our guide knew a lot about the animals and it is great to see that so much more is now known about the cause of the facial tumours and that a vaccination for this iconic species is close. The tour introduces you to the devils as well as two species of quoll, another interesting animal. It then takes you to places not usually visited finishing with a feeding at the back of the site, which was accompanied by the screeching that gave them their name as well as a range of other noises as the animal communicated with each other. Despite their name, the animals are quite shy, tend to keep to themselves but will share food with one another, provided they get some too! It was great to see some of their natural behaviours and get up close with a juvenile. To get the most of your visit, we’d recommend the late-in-the-day tours when the animals are waking up and active. Really informative and worth the effort. We would certainly visit again to spend time with these Tasmanian mascots.

What a great place . To see the Devils close up and watch them feed is well worth the visit. The guide was very informed and friendly.

      Not to be missed!
We had such a great visit, thank you to our guide Rory who answered all our questions and was so so knowledgeable. He is very educated and experienced which made our time there so enjoyable. We knew very little about Quolls and the devils so to have such an in-depth tour was beyond what we expected. Well done on such a great place, we booked the feeding tour at 1pm.

      Surprising & Informative
Booked the sunset experience & were not disappointed. Our guide, Prue was knowledgeable & happy for us to ask questions. We were a small group, so it was relaxed & friendly. Glass of wine during the introductory talk was a nice touch. Walk thru the park with guide & access to area’s normally off limits was great. Learnt so much about these endangered animals (devils & quolls) & the work this organisation does to help rescue & protect them. Saw a wild wallaby & wombat right out front in carpark before we even walked thru the doors & a free roaming pademelon within the park area. Finished the evening with a dessert platter. Really enjoyable experience. An important organisation to support.

      Wonderful Experience
We had a great time, we got to experience the sight of Devils feeding and even got to pat a baby devil who was totally gorgeous. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable and her love for caring and protecting the devils and Quokkas in her care and in the wild was inspiring! The sweet treats, beverages and toasted marshmallows was a lovely addition!

Today we did the Keepers Tour at 3pm which was included in our $20 admission. Jemma was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Devils and quolls breeding program and Pancake the wombat. .She explained everything in detail and kept everyone enthralled. This sanctuary is a real asset, and a highlight of our trip. We even stumbled on a devil eating a fresh piece of meat. Well done to all the staff, love the natural enclosures.

The tour guide was really knowledgeable and we’ve learnt a lot from this tour. We’ve also got to see a lot of cute Tasmanian devils and quolls.

However, there were around 30 people in one tour and that made it hard to listen to the tour sometimes. I think smaller tour groups will make it to the next level.

This is a really good experience for adults and children. There is good viewing of the young Tassie devils running around together and playing. There are also quols. The information was interesting. It is not a Zoo but a sanctuary that is conserving Tasmanian devils and working to keep the species alive in the face of the cancer that has attached the wild population. An opportunity to see a devil up close and learn about their habits.

Made a brief stop here while visiting Cradle Mountain and was not disappointed. Plenty of fantastic photo opportunities of both the devils and quolls, as there are multiple large exhibits of each animal. The keepers' passion for animal conservation was obvious and they were extremely informative about the projects they supported. It was interesting hearing about how they selected which devils to use for breeding season and the keeper talk I observed showed us how they check in on the couple that they were attempting to breed at the time (early May). Definitely visit if you're going to be in the area!

We did the day keeper tour at 3pm. We learnt so much from the guide - she had so much knowledge about the Devils, quolls & wombat there. We got some great photos & it was entertaining watching the devils interact with each other. Great value & give a senior discount.

We did the 3pm day keeper tour and it was thoroughly fascinating. Our guide, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about the conservation of the devils and quolls. A very informative afternoon that we highly recommend! It’s also great that the ticket cost goes towards the facility.

We had a really knowledgeable guide. Answered all our questions. There were loads of animals. We were worried about going in day and not at feeding time but they have so many, chilling out in the sun and playing. Easy viewing for out little kids.

I have been to many Tasmanian wildlife parks but this was the best by far. We managed to arrive as a guided tour was about to start (10.30). It was outstanding. The guide provided so much information over an hour about the devils and quolls as well as showing us physical features. Just fabulous.

This was better than I thought it would be. We did the basic tour, which meant that we could stay as long as we liked. We were also able to join the basic guided tour of the facility. It was a superp guided day tour by a very knowledgeable guide.
So impressed with the fact that this place is helping in a small way to help save endangered animals. The Devils and 2 species of quolls. They also help with other injured animals where they can and at the time of our visit had a wombat in residence.

We had a full day in the Cradle Mountain area and with so much to do in this beautiful area, I was really pleased in the end that it was raining all day as may not have had time to visit this amazing place. Its focus is on the Tasmanian Devil, but also they care for other carnivorous marsupials such as the rare eastern spotted quoll. We joined the 3pm tour which was both factual and fascinating but we also joined the joey encounter tour, which enables one to stroke the young devils and quolls. We also got to stroke Pancake, the wombat. Both guides were great, didn’t catch their names.

An amazing close up time with these rare animals and definitely worth a visit, if you have an interest in the unique Australian wildlife.

Hi David, Thanks for visiting. We are glad you enjoyed your time and experiences here. The Joey encounter is a beautiful way to interact with the Joeys and gain an insight into their infancy. We often find it amusing that people tend to remember the name of Pancake but not the guides 😉 Cheers, Devils@cradle Team
