Tasmanian Devil Feeding Tour . November 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour at Devils @Cradle . Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian devils and the Quolls in residence there. We got to spend as much time as we wanted looking around following the tour . The Devils are quite fascinating and it’s good to see the conservation efforts being made to ensure their species survives . Also good to know that visitors are helping to keep the sanctuary going buy visiting and buying tickets as they do not get any funding from anywhere to help with the running costs .

Great experience and value for money
This was a really good animal experience. Sarah led the group and was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You’re able to get a really look look at both Tasmanian Devils and Quolls as well as learn a great deal about both species. I considered it money well spent and took a gazillion photos and videos 😊

    Highly recommend this encounter
Highly recommend this self funded Tasmanian Devil and Quoll animal conservation. A very informative hour long walk through the park with lots of young, juvenile and adult Devils on view. The presentation, by Prue, was both interesting and entertaining. The feeding of 5 adult male Devils was quite a show. Highly recommend

Top Experience and a Must Do
We did the 7:00pm feeding tour which included time with a Joey which we both loved. This tour exceeded what I expected and I left with more knowledge and appreciation of these amazing creatures. The keeper/tour guide was superb, thank you (I have a new appreciation of poo 😂). Highly recommended. You need to book ahead. Do the late tour if you can.

Make sure you visit the devils!
Excellent, informative experience …guides are wonderful and spend plenty of time interacting with visitors, asking and answering every question …very patient with the children in our group. The guides clearly love their jobs and the animals they care for. It is amazing to see the devils n quolls feeding …they are ferocious and crunch through even a possums head!! Highly recommend everyone visiting. We combined a day visit in the morning then returned for the night feeding …..fantastic experience.

Must See for many Tassie Devils up close
Absolute must attend when visiting Cradle Mountain Tasmania. Very knowledgable staff and animal keepers. You'll see many Tassie Devil and Quolls up close. Their feeding frenzy is amazing. Fantastic experience

    Cutie devils
We had a really interesting feeding tour with Rory. He answered lots of questions and was really passionate and knowledgeable. Cutie little animals even if watching them eat is a bit gross. Also gave us some gloves to pick up road kill on the long drive back to Hobart. Was great fun flinging it in bushes to keep the roads clear of tassie devils searching for food.

    Interesting and informative
Very educational and informative. My 5 year old got a bit restless towards the end so probably better suited for kids a little older. You get to see the devils and quolls up close in their sanctuary environment and I have a new appreciation for these amazing carnivorous marsupials! The tour guide was really passionate and entertaining.

    Fantastic experience. Great guide
The staff were really welcoming. We were unable to make the original booking (snow) and they readily suggested an alternate time. The Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to a range of different needs within our group. Very worthwhile

    Devils Upclose
We learn a lot of interesting facts about the Devils from our guide. The guide fed the devils a dead animal which made me a little queasy watching the Devils tear it apart. I thought it was costly for the state of facilities. I realise they are not funded and possibly the reason why.

    A must do experience
A great experience, rangers talk was informative and very interesting. Feeding time tour is a must do experience. Make sure you go a bit earlier and see them calmly laying around before the food comes out.

we paid to do the sunset experience as it sounded great but we were reluctant to pay the $100 each to do it. I felt it was to much for what we got and i hate to say that as the fellow who took us for the night experience was lovely and the money does go towards funding the tassie devils which is wonderful but i just felt it was alittle much. I think you would be better to just do the night feeding. As we did that and the only extra was we got to pat a joey and then had a glass of wine and some little sweets.

Hi Kelco65, Thankyou for your review of our Sunset Experience, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us one. Our Sunset Experience is one of our premium products which includes a small group intimate experience, the opportunity to meet and pat a joey, drinks, dessert platter and exclusive access to our behind the scenes enclosures where the guide facilitiates a devil feeding experience. We also close the sanctuary to the general public during this tour so that our guests have the entire experience to themselves. Prior to the launch of this product, we reviewed similar products within the industry and think that our price is competitive for the inclusions we offer. We are glad that you had a good experience with our staff, they are all very passionate about their roles here, and you are correct in saying that all profits from our products contribute directly to the conservation of our endangered carnivores. We appreciate the support you have given us by attending our Sunset Experience, and hope that you still enjoyed seeing these amazing animals. If you have any further queries in regards to this, please feel free to contact us on info@devilsatcradle.com. Kind Regards, Devils@Cradle Team

My family agreed that was an absolute highlight of our trip to Tasmania. We had a lovely, informative tour of the facility, met the adorable devil Wilbur, and watched the feeding of several other devils. We then settled back to watch them go at their food while we enjoyed some delicious Tasmanian wine and treats. Our guide, Patrick, was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all our questions and enjoying the animals without the crowds a treat. Well worth the extra money, which goes to helping preserve these wonderful creatures. I couldn’t recommend this trip more.

The impact of the introduction of feral species, habitat loss, hunting and climate change have has a devastating effect on our native animals. Thank God there are people who are working to save our threatened species. This visit was fascinating. Highly recommended.

Met the tour guide no problems. She was very knowledgeable and walked us through the park explaining about all the animals and the conservation efforts. For a non Tasmanian it was very interesting to hear about them and really enjoyable. Doing it in winter was great with the ground covered in snow made it magical. Spoiler alert. Pancake the wombat at the end was awesome.

This is the best Tasmanian devil experience we've had in Tassie. It's a lovely park and environment for the animals. Our guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and clearly loved the animals too. The deserts were fantastic and the opportunity to pat a joey was incredible.

What a wonderful experience!! Our tour guide PRU was friendly and knowledgeable and made the evening both educational and enjoyable. I came away from the experience with a heap of new information I didn’t know and a new love and appreciation for both the animals and the hard work devils at cradle do to help preserve and raise awareness about the devils and quolls.
Any questions we had Pru was able to answer in great detail. The baby devils were definitely my favourite part of the experience and it was really nice to finish off with a lovely platter of Tassie sweets. Highly recommend this experience!!

Devils at Cradle was the perfect wind down finish to our day of hiking, to be able to pat Wilbur was excellent, seeing the Quolls and tasting the local produce while sitting around the fire watching the Devils feed was amazing. The information provided by our guide was fantastic and he answered all of our questions, a very down to earth gentleman. Thank you for a memorable experience.

I’ve read the previous reviews and I don’t understand how people can have such poor opinions. My private experience with my fiancee during the dine with the devil tour was amazing.

Although it was snowing, windy, -1 degree outside and wet, our tour guides “Rory and Prue” (i hope i got that right) did an amazing job looking after our welfare and really took the time to explain to us all about the specific species that are housed at the sanctuary.

I think people really need to understand that although there are native animals on display, the devil sanctuary is not a theme park, but more an educational environment to stimulate support in protecting the animals and appreciating the unique habitat that we have in our very own backyard.

The explanations that were provided to us, gave both my fiancee and I a thorough understanding of the lengths the sanctuary go to to ensure the health and welbeing of the animals is its main priority and the future of each species will continue to flourish.

It may not be the cheapest of tours financially but the amount of information you receive, the close interactions you have with the animals and the support provided to the sanctuary is priceless and when we come back for our wedding in June 2020, we will be sure to visit again.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening Rory and Prue, it was an amazing evening!! Keep up the great work and we will expect to see you in June.

We booked the sunset experience because we liked the sound of it and it also gave us more time for hiking during the day as we only had two days in Cradle Mountain.
We found out we were able to go early and have a look around and since we made it back from our hike in time, decided to do this and then went back for the sunset experience which included lovely local food to taste for supper. The campfire was great as it had been snowing and quite cool. We loved meeting the baby devil close up and then enjoyed walking around again but this time with a personal commentary. Definitely recommend doing this visit.
