- Inspire253342790690 contributionsNot to be missed! We had such a great visit, thank you to our guide Rory who answered all our questions and was so so knowledgeable. He is very educated and experienced which made our time there so enjoyable. We knew very little about Quolls and the devils so to have such an in-depth tour was beyond what we expected. Well done on such a great place, we booked the feeding tour at 1pm.Written 29 November 2024
- Azette L0 contributionsSurprising & InformativeBooked the sunset experience & were not disappointed. Our guide, Prue was knowledgeable & happy for us to ask questions. We were a small group, so it was relaxed & friendly. Glass of wine during the introductory talk was a nice touch. Walk thru the park with guide & access to area’s normally off limits was great. Learnt so much about these endangered animals (devils & quolls) & the work this organisation does to help rescue & protect them. Saw a wild wallaby & wombat right out front in carpark before we even walked thru the doors & a free roaming pademelon within the park area. Finished the evening with a dessert platter. Really enjoyable experience. An important organisation to support.Written 26 November 2024
- 2kyliec0 contributionsWonderful ExperienceWe had a great time, we got to experience the sight of Devils feeding and even got to pat a baby devil who was totally gorgeous. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable and her love for caring and protecting the devils and Quokkas in her care and in the wild was inspiring! The sweet treats, beverages and toasted marshmallows was a lovely addition!Written 13 November 2024
- annasD1186AL0 contributionsBest Tassie devil tourA great tour that explains devils in all their glory. Our guide was so knowledgeable. She had reared Sabina and Noah and they were so cute. It was so good to see them interacting, growling and feeding. The tour was really interesting and covered several devils, and 3 different species of quills. Highly informative and highly recommended.Written 12 November 2024
- 136angiep0 contributionsLearn about these Adorable CarnivoresThe host was so informative and passionate. I fell in love with the devils and the quolls. They rely on visitors to fund their efforts to save these amazing animals so definitely visit. - Harvhouse0 contributionsHighlight of our Tassie tripWe did the Dessert with the devils experience and it was the highlight of our Tasmania trip. The guide was amazing - so knowledgeable and passionate. The devils and quolls were adorable. And baby devil Geoff was just the sweetest little guy. The tour really reiterated that we need to conserve our wonderful and unique fauna. Although I’m an animal lover, it really got me thinking about this more. I definitely recommend this tour. It’s worth spending the extra money to do one of the available experiences. Devils at Cradle are doing great work that they should be very proud of.Written 3 October 2024
- Travel_addict13_100 contributionsInformative and interestingThis is a really good experience for adults and children. There is good viewing of the young Tassie devils running around together and playing. There are also quols. The information was interesting. It is not a Zoo but a sanctuary that is conserving Tasmanian devils and working to keep the species alive in the face of the cancer that has attached the wild population. An opportunity to see a devil up close and learn about their habits.Written 23 September 2024
- 895margm0 contributionsDelightful dessert with DevilsDessert with the devils- A very informative visit which allowed us to pat a devil, see them being fed and check out the quolls. Not cheap, but well worth it- once in a lifetime.Written 14 July 2024

Jemma was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Devils and quolls breeding program and Pancake the wombat. .She explained everything in detail and kept everyone enthralled. This sanctuary is a real asset, and a highlight of our trip. We even stumbled on a devil eating a fresh piece of meat. Well done to all the staff, love the natural enclosures.Written 10 March 2024

Due to the late sunset the name of the After Dark Feeding Tour is a bit misplaced. We went on the 5.30pm tour - around 3.5 hours before sunset. That aside, the tour was excellent. Plenty of active Devils & Quolls and in close proximity. The guide was informative, engaging and passionate about the conservation of these Tasmanian icons. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience. Arrived about an hour earlier and wondered around learning about the Devils and Quolls until the feeding experience started. The knowledge and presentation given was brilliant and I recommend anyone staying in the area to make the tour. Although ours was the after dark, with daylight saving it was still daylight but that didn’t make a difference to the experience. So much Happening with the conservation of these and Rory was a wonderful guide telling us all about these and the Quolls which are also endangered.

Hi Vee_paul,
We are glad you had a wonderful time wondering around the sanctuary, enjoying watching the devils and quolls before the fun begins on the tour. Rory is definitely passionate about Tasmanian devils but he is particularly fond of Spotted-tail quolls and Eastern quolls and we are glad that enjoyed your expierence with him as your guide. We hope that you will have the opportunity to come back and visit us in the future.
Kind regards,
The Devils @ Cradle team

We loved this experience. You must enter the park area and the entry to the devils is after the Info centre on the right. It is quite a small set up but easy parking, a good gift store, friendly staff and a vast number of fenced-in areas for the tassie devil and the close relative the quoll. We spent about 40 min walking around the areas watching and taking photos of the animals before the tour. The tour was very informative and our guide had so much knowledge of everything about the devils. He was friendly, talked loudly and clearly loved the animals and was passionate about their preservation. We got to watch the devils and quolls feeding. The only thing is it was very cold - make sure you rug up. We did wear lots of clothes. There is nothing for food or drink there and it would have been nice to have a coffee machine there to warm us up - we wouldn't have minded paying. This tour is definitely worth it.

What an amazing experience to see the little creatures from pretty close. It was so cool to learn more about them and our guide was the funniest. Loved it. We also like the fact that you can return the next day to see the devils during the day (and yes they are active).
The only downside we thought was that the group was just too big. We couldn’t always see or hear the whole story. And people are like animals running and pushing to get in front. We thought that the guide could have asked the people in the back to switch with the people in the front so that everyone could enjoy the evening (especially with the quolls).
Other than that, it’s a very interesting evening out while helping the good cause.

We did the Night Feeding Tour and it was amazing! The staff were so knowledgeable and passionate and able to pass on the information in a way that worked for all ages. The Devils are so cute and so active after dark! The Quolls are also very cute. Just love the fact that this is a sanctuary and profits going towards helping keep the Devils safe and healthy and are even beginning to have a success rate with fighting the cancer that has so badly affected the species. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

The after dark feeding was fun and informative and lasted just over an hour. Predictably it was uncomfortably cold because it involves standing still for most of the time. The information about the Tasmanian devils and quolls was well presented interesting and you get a good view of the animals. The downside was the tour/ feeding could have been a bit better set up. The guide needed to have a microphone and some better lighting .

This was a brillint opportunity to learn more about Tasmanian devils, and to see what is being done to help preserve the species for the future. This isn't like a zoo or an ordinary sanctuary: these Tasmanian devils are being prepared for release in the wild. Watching the way the feeder interacted with the animals showed her dedication to them, whilst she also dispelled some common myths about Tasmanian devil feeding habits. The quolls were an added bonus, too, and incredibly cute. It was cold, it was raining, but that did not detract from the magic of this experience.

It was a 75 minute tour of the enclosures with our guide providing interesting details about the Tasmanian Devils, how they develop into adults, their behaviour and the reasons why they are endangered. It was fascinating to watch the animals tussle when they were provided with their food. The guide spoke passionately about the work of the sanctuary and its role in breeding healthy specimens which will in the future be returned to the wild once an effective vaccine has been widely used in the wild population. Later in the tour we viewed Quolls being fed - much more endangered but not so much in the public consciousness. We learned a lot from the tour - it was a very worthwhile excursion to learn so much more about Tasmanian fauna,

Great experience. My husband and I went to to 5.30pm session. It was fantastic to see and hear the Tassy Devils and quolls being fed. Lots of great information about these special animals. The only tip I would give is to not book a stay too far away after this experience. Hubby and I were on hyper alert during our trip to the next destination as dusk is the key feeding time for Aussie animals.

Thank you denicem163 for your review. We are glad to to hear about your experience with us. Thank you also for being considerate of our amazing wildlife on to your next destination. It is so encouraging to know that there are people like you taking care of our beautiful animals. Something as simple as reducing your speed between dusk and dawn makes a massive impact on reducing roadkill.
Thank you 🎖🏆

Amazing must see experience! Beautiful animals and the after dark tour was a great time to see them. The sanctuary is doing great work to ensure the devils and quolls continued survival. This project gets no government funding, so if you take the tour and buy merchanise you will be backing the work these people are doing in conservation to these beautiful animals. Gemma an engaging and knowledgeable presenter. Highly recommend!
