About
The Burnie Attractions Bus is the best way to see Burnie!
Designed to provide full flexibility you are free to hop on and hop off at each stop and catch a later bus to continue the tour. If you do not get off the bus the circuit takes 1.5 hours.
The bus departs Burnie every 30 minutes during your cruise ship visit. Our buses are operated by the same company as the port shuttle from your ship to the Burnie CBD which means we guarantee you will make your ship's departure time.
We’ll take the short drive to Upper Burnie Lookout for magical views of the seaside town and the enormous Bass Strait. Then drive inland to soak in the serenity at Guide Falls.
Our next stop is the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden, it is the largest collection in the Southern Hemisphere. Also, a good place to view platypus in the wild.
Our last stop is the famous Hellyer’s Road Distillery - please book this as an extra if you wish to hop off here.

- MaxineT66500Great day with Tours around TasmaniaWe had a fantastic day with Huw. Port Arthur was great, Huw was very well organised with tkts etc We then went to Doolicious for lunch and Tasmania arch. The whole day didn’t feel rushed and Huw was knowledgeable and just so lovely and friendly he felt like part of our family. Highly recommend tours around Tasmania from my first phone call to booking and paying to Huw meeting us with a smile when we got off the ship you guys made our visit to Hobart very pleasurable.
- L7510TErichardj00Good day from HobartThis was a full day but we’ll lead by Malcolm. Lots of driving but the Caves and the Tree Walk were worth it. Loved the bush and the cave straws.
- Ianrchiro00Put this trip on your to do list for a day trip from HobartExcellent day trip. Our guide , Huw was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The Hastings Caves are a must do activity and Tahune Skywalk breathtakingly stunning, walking amongst the tree tops overlooking the Huon River and surrounding native forest.

- 141toniab00Great experience exploring some incredible natural beautyThe caves were amazing. Great pub lunch followed by the Airwalk amongst some truly impressive giants of the forest. Our guide Gary was awesome, a friendly, good natured local who was a fountain of knowledge. We wouldn’t have got any of his experience if we had self driven. We had a great day.
- Kirk780100Great local tour company that takes you all over the state with wonderful employeesTours Around Tasmania provided all we needed and then some. We booked a private tour to Mount Field National Park and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and it was wonderful. Jess helped arrange the tour and also offered great information and suggestions for dining and other activities in Tasmania. Jo was our guide and driver and she couldn’t have been better. Both ladies are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Tasmania and everything it has to offer. No complaints at all. Next time we’re in Tasmania we’ll definitely be using Tours Around Tasmania!

We found this your excellent, giving us a good all round experience in Burnie. We got off the bus at the Rhododendron Gardens where we had lunch and saw colourful autumn leaves. We got the next bus sn hour later and slighted at the penguin stop. We then strolled back along the boardwalk see the penguin burrows

Thank you Jenny. We have worked hard following the COVID shutdowns to reestablish this tour, which showcases the heart of Burnie. It is our largest tour by number of guests hosted and we take great pride in continually improving it to showcase the beautiful coastal town for cruise ship passengers.

Tour availability is 10:00am but my ship doesn't dock until 9:30am so I don't think I can make this bus. If I book this tour, can I catch a later bus? How many buses are there and how often do they run? When is the last bus?

On cruise ship days, if we stop to see something, how long do you typically have to wait to get another bus with enough space?
Also, is there time to take pictures at the Upper Lookout without waiting for the next bus?

The Burnie Attractions Bus has a 30 minute gap between buses - plenty of time at each stop except perhaps at the Rhododendrum Gardens where you may need an hour. Plenty of time to take photos at the Upper Lookout without having to wait for another bus.
